Angelina Jolie's six children reportedly encouraged her to speak up for herself during the eight years it took to finally sign off on her divorce from her estranged third husband Brad Pitt on Christmas Day. 'She's been trying hard to be light after a dark time,' a source told People on Wednesday. 'The kids have grown up seeing that some people have so much power and privilege that their voices don't matter. Their pain doesn't count.' The insider added: 'They have wanted her to speak up for herself, to defend herself over these years but she reminds them to focus on changing laws over telling public stories.' The 49-year-old Maria actress still has primary custody of her only remaining underage children - 16-year-old fraternal twins Vivienne and Knox - with the 61-year-old Wolfs producer-star. Five of Angelina and Brad's kids appear to be estranged from him including his daughters - Zahara, 19; Shiloh, 18; and Vivienne - who've all publicly dropped his surname Pitt from their names.Pitt reportedly got into a physical altercation with his son Maddox, 23; aboard a private jet in 2016 and his son Pax, 21; called him a 'world-class a**hole' and a 'despicable person' in an explosive Instagram rant revealed by DailyMail.com. 'None of my children want to be in front of the camera at this time,' Jolie told GMA on November 21. 'They're quite private. Shiloh's extremely private. They weren't born with privacy, right? So I hope they can have that as they grow.'The couple formerly known as 'Brangelina' - who didn't sign a prenup - were technically only married from 2014-2016 despite falling in love with each other on the 2004 set of spy flick Mr. & Mrs. Smith, which prompted his 2005 divorce from Jennifer Aniston. However, Angelina and Brad are entering year four of their legal war over their 1,200-acre winery Château Miraval in Correns, France where they wed, which is reportedly worth $164M. Jolie and Pitt purchased the the 35-room estate together for $28.4M in 2011, but he sued her in 2021 after she sold her stake in the ownership to the Stoli Group without his approval, which prompted a countersuit.
The Oscar-winning actress had initially offered to settle, but she reportedly took issue with the mandatory non-disclosure agreement and backed out. For her role in Pablo Larraín's biopic on legendary opera singer Maria Callas, Angelina was nominated for best actress in a motion picture (drama) at the 82nd Golden Globe Awards, which air this Sunday on CBS/Paramount+. Jolie faces heavy competition against The Last Showgirl's Pamela Anderson, Babygirl's Nicole Kidman, The Room Next Door's Tilda Swinton, I'm Still Here star Fernanda Torres, and Lee star Kate Winslet. The Tony-winning producer will then battle Cynthia Erivo, Karla Sofía Gascón, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Mikey Madison, and Demi Moore for the best actress trophy at the 30th Critics' Choice Awards airing January 12 on E!/Peacock. The 122-minute drama currently has a 75% critic approval rating (out of 163 reviews) and a 66% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Maria marked the third and final film in Pablo's trilogy of iconic women, succeeding Jackie (2016) and Spencer (2021), which scored both Natalie Portman and Kristen Stewart Oscar nominations. Angelina - who had never sung onscreen or in public - spent seven months training with vocal coach Eric Vetro and prosthetics designer Arjen Tuiten gave her a slightly larger, yet still negligible nose. Jolie - who's been shooting her role in Alice Winocour's Paris-set drama Stitches - has yet to announce a release date for her sixth directorial effort Without Blood, which will be distributed worldwide by Fremantle.

On Monday, Pitt and Jolie officially settled their divorce, bringing an end to a contentious legal fight that lasted over eight years. However, one major sticking point remains unresolved—their $62 million dispute over the French château and vineyard they once co-owned. Jolie’s attorney, James Simon, told DailyMail.com that the actress is relieved to have closed this chapter. 'Frankly, Angelina is exhausted,' Simon said. 'More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time, she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family,' he added. Following the split, Zahara, Shiloh, and Vivienne have reportedly dropped Pitt from their last name. While it’s believed that Knox and Vivienne still maintain some contact with their father, Maddox and Pax are said to be estranged. Although their divorce has been finalized, the legal battle over Château Miraval, a celebrated French wine estate, remains contentious. Pitt has accused Jolie of selling her stake in the winery to the Stoli Group, known for its Stolichnaya vodka, without his consent. Despite progress in their divorce proceedings, the vineyard dispute shows no signs of resolution. Sources told DailyMail.com that both parties are prepared to take the matter to a jury trial or pursue mediation if necessary.

Angelina Jolie has a promising new project set for early 2025 that will keep her passport busy. The first film the Oscar-winning actress will make since finalizing her divorce from Brad Pitt will be an action-packed female-driven movie. The 49-year-old beauty - who is now shooting Stitches in Paris - will be starring in Maude v Maude- . Her costar Halle Berry has called it as a 'mix of Mr And Mrs Smith and Mission Impossible with a comedy twist' and two women in the leading roles. Deadline added it was a 'Bond vs. Bourne' type of global action thriller with exotic locations. Berry told a Red Sea International Film Festival audience that she might return to Saudi Arabia to film the movie. There will also be several other locations that filmgoers are not used to seeing in a movie, added Berry. That means Jolie will be traveling a lot for the project. A shooting date has yet to be announced, but in September Halle told Yahoo that the film is her first project for 2025: 'Going into next year that is on our docket and I'm really excited.' said earlier this year that she has already 'bonded' with Jolie over their 'divorces and exes'. The two have never worked together before. Halle has revealed that they actually spent some time together discussing their love lives. The 57-year-old actress - who was previously married to David Justice, Eric Benet and Olivier Martinez - told Variety: 'We've been talking a lot about divorces and exes. We bonded, let's say that.' Despite this, Halle acknowledged that their friendship actually got off to a 'rocky start'. The Hollywood actress - whose co-star has also been married three times - shared: 'We had a rocky start and I think that is going to serve us well in our screen time together.' But she also told Yahoo she admires Jolie: 'It's been a joy to work with [Angelina]. We seemed like two unlikely friends, but when we sat down with each other, we realized that we were each the thing we both needed that we didn't know we needed. You know, we have so many things in common and we realized that in our first meeting.' Other projects for Jolie in 2025: the films Every Note Played with Christoph Waltz and Maleficent 3, it has been claimed. She will also promote Without Blood which stars her pal Salma Hayek. It is not known when the film will get its theatrical release. The film premiered in the Special Presentations section at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival on September 8, 2024. Angelina will also be working on her store Atelier Jolie in NYC with kids Zahara and Vivienne. Last week Jolie and Pitt reached a settlement in their divorce. Eight years after Angelina filed for divorce citing 'irreconcilable differences', the former couple have finally come to an agreement on terms and both have signed off on it. Angelina's lawyer James Simon told PEOPLE: 'More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family. 'This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. 'Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over.' Although the split was acrimonious, a source close to Jolie added: 'She doesn't speak ill of [Pitt] publicly or privately. She's been trying hard to be light after a dark time.' Angelina, 49, filed for divorce from Brad, 61, in September 2016 after just two years of marriage. It came just days after a journey on a private plane in which Angelina claimed Brad was abusive to her and their six children but authorities did not charge him after investigating. Angelina and Brad later released a joint statement declaring that they would keep all divorce proceedings private for the sake of their children. They said: 'The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues. 'The parents are committed to act as a united front to effectuate recovery and reunification.' The former couple share children Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Vivienne and Knox, now 16. They were declared legally single in 2019 but have battled over custody and legal issues over their French estate and winery, Château Miraval, since the split.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have reached a settlement in their divorce, ending a bitter eight-year legal battle - but one key $62million dispute remains unresolved. The Hollywood stars officially signed off on their divorce paperwork on Monday but the fight over a French chateau and vineyard they once jointly owned, dubbed the 'War of the Rosés', is still ongoing. Ms Jolie's divorce lawyer James Simon told DailyMail.com that his client, 49, is 'relieved this one part is over.' "Frankly, Angelina is exhausted,' he said. 'More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family', Mr Simon added. The former couple, best known as 'Brangelina', share three biological children - Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16 - as well as their adopted children Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, and Zahara, 19. Since their parents' bitter split, Zahara, Shiloh and Vivienne has all dropped Pitt from their last name. It has been reported that Maddox and Pax do not talk to their father - while it is believed that Knox and Vivienne still speak with the Fight Club star, though they have not been pictured with him in several years. While the former power couple have finally settled their divorce, there is still the ongoing battle over Château Miraval vineyard in France, which is considered one of the country's top wine producers. Pitt, 61, who has a new 31-year-old partner, and Jolie have been locked in a bitter legal battle over Miraval after Pitt alleged Jolie sold her $62 million stake of the winery to the Stoli Group, famed for its Stolichnaya vodka, without his approval. Despite the divorce breakthrough, the Château Miraval dispute rages on. Both sides have said they would be willing to take the Miraval case to a jury trial or mediation, a source told told DailyMail.com. A source with knowledge of the situation added Jolie has 'been trying hard to be light after a dark time.' 'She doesn't speak ill of him publicly or privately,' the insider said. 'The kids have grown up seeing that some people have so much power and privilege that their voices don't matter. Their pain doesn't count. 'They have wanted her to speak up for herself, to defend herself over these years but she reminds them to focus on changing laws over telling public stories.' A spokesman for Brad Pitt declined to comment on Monday night. Jolie filed to end the marriage in September of 2016, just two years after tying the knot. They had dated 10 years before they decided to get married. It has since been alleged that the couple and their six children, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox, had taken a private plane days prior to her filing in which Pitt had become physically abusive. Jolie claimed in court filings that Pitt's 'history of physical abuse' started 'well before' the plane incident. The Maleficent actress also said her ex tried to force her to sign a $8.5 million NDA to cover up his 'years of abuse'. Pitt has always denied the claims of abuse and was cleared by law enforc ement following an investigation. One insider told DailyMail.com 'she could have pressed charges against him.' She could have told the world what happened, she didn't. All she wanted was for their children to get the support they needed to heal. 'Pitt successfully used his power and his privilege to cover up his conduct at his family's expense and even attempted to paint her as the reason why his relationship is so challenging with the children.' In court filings, Pitt's attorneys claimed it was Jolie who sabotaged the children's relationship with the actor. They claimed former bodyguards who worked for the family overheard Jolie 'encouraging' the children to avoid spending time with their father during custody visits. Despite the ongoing legal battle, Jolie and Pitt were deemed legally single in 2019. Pitt, now 61, has been dating Los Angeles based jewelry designer Ines de Ramon, 34, for almost two years. Pitt’s team declined to comment on the divorce settlement. Brad and Ines were initially seen spending time with one another during a November 2022 Bono concert. The two live together, it has been claimed. DailyMail.com previously revealed that Ines has made it clear to her friends, family, and work contacts that her relationship with Brad is off-limits for discussion. The entrepreneur even required her business contacts to sign non-disclosure agreements to ensure that no details about her personal life are leaked. Ines reportedly takes these precautions to avoid giving the actor any impression that she's using their relationship to gain fame. Now the actor is said to be looking to share his future with the brunette beauty as another source stated in early December: 'Brad is interested in getting married again, and it is all thanks to Ines. 'The thing about her is that he is so comfortable with her that it just feels right wiith her, and he would be more than OK to make it official.' The source noted that Ines even has the seal of approval from Brad's close circle as they continued: 'He has spoken to those close to him, including George, and everyone has signed off on him doing it, it would be a nice thing for him as it would be the official moving on from his romantic past with [Jennifer Aniston] and Angie. 'That is obviously in everyone's mind and will always be forever in the minds of millions, but it is Ines and her no nonsense nature that has finally been the person to settle down with.' The source even teased that an engagement will likely take place in the New Year as they stated: 'It is time and 2025 at some point is going to be the moment he will get engaged to her.'

Angelina Jolie shocked shoppers at Blick Art Supplies in Hollywood when she was spotted shopping there this weekend. The Maria star, 49, also hit up once-trendy Melrose Avenue to go to a vintage T-shirt store. Jolie looked radiant in a tan Christian Dior trench coat with a bit of her beige dress peeking out from underneath. She paired the classic look with brown, pointy-toed pumps and sunglasses as she left her highlighted hair down and straight. The Maleficent actress smiled and was left to herself by respectful shoppers as she browsed. As Jolie receives accolades and award nominations for her role as Maria Callas in her latest film, she revealed how it is the first job she's been able to give her all to in several years. In a Vanity Fair interview, She talked about Maria and the on going stresses that made her go 'very dark' and led to years of a hiatus from acting, which appeared to coincide with her messy and on-going divorce from Brad Pitt. 'I went very dark for reasons I’d rather not explain, but I didn’t have a lot of light and life within me. Your lights dim. I also just needed to be home more, so I couldn’t commit large periods of time to pieces,' she told the outlet. 'The choice of what to work on and when was not a creative choice, often, the last few years, but sometimes the practical choice,' she continued. 'Really, I think Maria was the beginning of starting to come alive again. 'I needed a lot of kind people around me to hold my hand,' Jolie explained, adding, 'We’ve all been with terrible people in our life, where it’s hard to do your work because you feel emotionally vulnerable and then you feel like it’s being used in the wrong way.' The Oscar winner has been through a lot in the last eight years of her very public and publicized split from Pitt. 'Brangelina' became a couple in 2006 and tied the knot in 2014, before their shock split in 2016, which triggered a bitter feud in the courts over child custody and their property. The former couple share three biological children — Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16 — as well as their adopted children Maddox, 23; Pax, 21; and Zahara, 19. Since their parents' bitter split, Zahara, Shiloh and Vivienne have all dropped Pitt as their last name. It has been reported that Maddox and Pax do not talk to their father - while it is believed that Knox and Vivienne still confer with the Fight Club star. The star's latest emotional revelation comes just days after she opened up about feeling lonely. 'I have my children I love but as an adult I'm often alone, I find myself identifying with the solitude and loneliness she has,' she told The Sun, referring to Maria Callas. 'I also haven't quite figured out how to live life in a way where I'm on my own, maybe a lot of artists feel that we're in an open space as a person.' The former A-List couple — who split eight years ago with Angelina accusing Pitt of abuse — are in the midst of an acrimonious legal battle for their French vineyard. Jolie recently scored a major legal victory against Pitt after a judge ruled that he must hand over documents and communications which could prove he was abusive towards the actress and their children. The ongoing dispute has seen the feuding exes attack each other in legal filings ever since Pitt sued Jolie in 2022 for selling her stake in their Chateau Miraval estate, which produces an award-winning sparkling rosé. Angelina's next project is the independent film Stitches, for which she is taking on the challenge of learning to speak French fluently, as the film is being shot in both English and French. As Jolie receives accolades and award nominations for her role as Maria Callas in her latest film, she reveals how it is the first job she's been able to give her all to in several years. She plays Maxine in the upcoming movie about Fashion Week. Jolie's mother Marcheline Bertrand was of French Canadian descent and may have taught her daughter conversational French, though it is not clear how well she spoke it. Stitches is currently filming in Paris and is scheduled for release at some point in 2025. The film is being directed by Alice Winocour, and plot details are being kept under wraps.
