A long road: Angelina Jolie wears head-to-toe black in LA as divorce from Brad Pitt still not finalized after filing 17 MONTHS ago

Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt 17 months ago in September 2016.Negotiations over money and custody must be exhausting for the Oscar-winning actress, especially now that the two have reportedly filed for an extension. On Tuesday the 42-year-old beauty looked down as she descended the stairs of a building in Los Angeles.Angelina split from Brad in September 2016 after a fight aboard a flight on a private plane when out of the country. It seemed like the divorce may wrap up soon as they were only married for two years. But the proceedings drag on.It has been claimed by multiple outlets that the two have been in therapy together and with the children.Together they have Maddox, 16, Pax, 14, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 11, and twins Knox and Vivienne, nine.Last week, Jolie and Pitt have received court approval to extend their ongoing private divorce negotiations. The actress and the Troy star, 54, recently filed court documents seeking to prolong the 'temporary judge' in their divorce case, according to an article on Wednesday by The Blast. The former couple have been in private talks as they continue to discuss custody and distribution of assets. On Tuesday, Jolie looked chic in her outfit as she took meetings. The Salt star had on high-waisted slacks and her hands were in the pockets. She added stiletto heels, a spaghetti strap top, knee-length coat and oversized designer shades.A designer purse hung from her shoulder.
Last week she told Elle magazine what advice she gives her daughters Shiloh, Zahara and Vivienne.'I tell my daughters, "What sets you apart is what you are willing to do for others. Anyone can put on a dress and makeup. It’s your mind that will define you,"' she said. The By The Sea director added that she also told her children, 'Find out who you are, what you think, and what you stand for. 'And fight for others to have those same freedoms. A life of service is worth living.' Angelina's life changed in 2001 when she visited Cambodia for Tomb Raider. Soon after she started working with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).In 2012 she co-founded the Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict Initiative. For Elle, the Salt actress sat down with former Secretary of State John Kerry to discuss her continuing campaign against the use of rape and sexual violence as weapons of war.She first met Kerry in April 2013, when he was Secretary of State and she was urging world leaders to commit to action to end impunity for sexual violence against women and girls and men and boys in conflict zones. She also said she is hopeful that men and women working together can achieve positive change for women’s rights globally.'I think of how hard women fought to get us to where we are today,' said the First They Killed My Father director.'Everything counts, from the way you hold yourself in daily life and educate yourself on your own rights, to solidarity with other women around the world.'
She continues her campaign against sexual violence in conflict because there is so much left to do.'When it comes down to it, we still treat violence against women as a lesser crime,' added the LA native. 'In some countries, sexual violence is less of a taboo discussion. It’s something more people expect their leaders to act on. 'Over 150 countries have signed a commitment to end impunity for war-zone rape. 'There are new teams in place to gather evidence and support prosecutions.'I was in Kenya last summer as UN peacekeeping troops received new training, since peacekeepers have been part of the problem. We’re working with NATO on training, protection, and getting more women in the military. But there is so far to go.'Angelina was on the cover of Elle in honor of International Women’s Day, which falls on March 8. The issue, which is the first official issue under ELLE new editor in chief Nina Garcia, will be on newsstands nationwide February 20.

Angelina met with Jens in her role as co-founder of the Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict Initiative. In December Angelina and Jens united for an op-ed in The Guardian, with the actress  writing how the NATO alliance could be a role model and 'leading protector' of womens' rights, and ending gender-based violence. Jolie wrote: 'In our different roles we have seen how conflicts in which women’s bodies and rights are systematically abused last longer, cause deeper wounds and are much harder to resolve and overcome. Ending gender-based violence is therefore a vital issue of peace and security as well as of social justice.' The visit to NATO HQ was the latest stop on Angelina's tour of Europe, with the star seen meeting with France's First Lady Brigitte Macron on Tuesday. The meeting was to discuss her recent visit to Jordan and urge members of the UN Security Council to resolve the conflict in Syria. She later attended a beauty launch at the Guerlain headquarters at the end of the night.

Earlier in the week she met with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. But on Saturday Angelina Jolie was participating in a decidedly different endeavor, as she attended the Annie Awards, which recognize accomplishments in animation. The Maleficent star, 42, looked stunning in her shiny silver gown as she traipsed down the red carpet. The eye-catching frock featured a wrap-style sleeveless top, as well as a thigh-high split which gave a brief view of her toned legs.In a practical twist, the garment also included some no doubt appreciated pockets. Some very fashionable nude stiletto heels added several inches to her 5ft7in frame.Accessories were limited to several sizable rings and very modest glittering earrings. Her famous raven tresses were swept off her forehead and styled straight down her back.A smokey eye, subtle blush and a slick of brilliant crimson lipstick ensured the mother of six was glowing on the red carpet. She was soon joined by two of her children for some snaps, son Shiloh, 11, and daughter Zahara, 13.Shiloh kept things classic in black suit, while Zahara opted for a black blouse and trouser combination.Interestingly, the Oscar winner was on hand not because of a performance, but for a producing triumph. The animated film The Breadwinner, which details the struggle of a young girl in Taliban-era Afghanistan, managed to garner an impressive 10 Annie awards in several categories. The movie also caught the eye of the Academy, and is up for best Best Animated Feature Film in the upcoming 2018 edition of the awards show.In addition to the Nato Security General, Angelina also met with France's First Lady Brigitte Macron in Paris to discuss her visit and urge members of the UN Security Council to resolve the conflict in Syria.

Angelina Jolie won't date after Brad Pitt split 'for a very long time'

Angelina Jolie reportedly won’t start dating again for “a very long time”.The 42-year-old actress has been single since splitting from her estranged husband Brad Pitt - with whom she has children Maddox, 16, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 11, and nine-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox - over a year ago in September 2016, and sources have now claimed the star isn’t on the lookout for a new man.An insider said: "Angelina isn’t dating anyone and won’t be for a very long time. She is focused on her children and their needs.” However, the sources also insist that Brad, 54, has been on a number of dates in the months since his split from the ‘Maleficent’ actress, but they claim none of them have been serious, as his children are more important than his love life. The insider added to ‘Entertainment Tonight’: "He's been on casual dates but none of them have evolved into anything serious. His dating life is certainly not his top priority. The kids are."It’s a really important time for him. The kids are his life. They mean everything to him.” It comes after Angelina previously claimed that she believed working with her former husband on 2015 movie ‘By The Sea’ - which she directed and the pair starred in - would help save their marriage. She said: "We had met working together and we worked together well … I wanted us to do some serious work together … I thought it would be a good way for us to communicate."In some ways it was, and in some ways we learned some things. But there was a heaviness probably during that situation that carried on and it wasn't because of the film."It was something that we were dealing ... things happen for different reasons, and things ... why did I write that exact piece? Why did we feel that way when we made it? I'm not sure."
