A huge forest fire has broken out near a French chateau owned by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.The fire began on Monday lunchtime near the town of Correns, in southern France.More than 500 firefighters deployed from three different districts to tackle the huge blaze which had covered 350 hectares (865 acres) by 7pm.Local fire services confirmed that the massive blaze was still not under control, and was heading south west towards the nearby town of Montfort-sur-Argens.Angelina and Brad's chateau, to the north east of Correns, sits just five kilometres (3.1 miles) from the devastating blaze, which had destroyed at least one home by the early evening - heading in the opposite direction to the celebrity home.Two fire engines were also reported to have been caught up in the inferno, although fortunately there were no reports of any casualties.A spokesman for the local emergency service said: 'In total more than 500 firefighters are fighting the fire which has spread over an estimated 350 hectares.'He added: 'The electricity network has been cut to allow aircraft to drop water.'Local residents were warned on Twitter to avoid the area to allow emergency services easy access.Residents were also told to shut their doors and windows and block vents with damp cloths.An emergency shelter was set up in Correns for those forced to flee their homes.The blaze comes just a day after the fire risk locally was warned to be 'very severe', with a combination of dry weather and high temperatures making for a high risk situation.Hollywood royalty Brad and Angelina have owned the luxurious 35-bedroom spread for several years.Not only does it boast its own chapel, where the couple married in 2014, it also has a moat, a vineyard and rolling woodlands.Previous owner, jazz pianist Jacques Loussier installed a recording studio in the castle, with Sting, the Cranberries and Pink Floyd all recording tracks there.The estate is also known for producing a variety of wines - including an outstanding rose named Pink Floyd.Hollywood royalty Brad and Angelina have owned the luxurious 35-bedroom spread since 2012.

They're used to spending lots of time apart due to their busy filming and philanthropy commitments.However, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt made sure they were together to celebrate America's Independence Day with their family.The Hollywood couple were spotted making a low-key outing to a branch of Gelson's grocery store in Los Angeles on 4 July.The pair were dressed casually for their visit, no doubt picking up some supplies for a potential BBQ with their six children.Oscar winner Angelina, who turned 41 last month, looked casual in an all-white ensemble and grey cardigan.Her husband Brad, 52, had also gone for a neutral palette in a pair of white trousers, matching T-shirt and hat.The pair then headed back to their luxury mansion in Los Feliz, where Brad has lived for 22 years.The actor purchased the 5,338 sq ft house in 1994 from Elvira, Mistress of the Dark for a reported $1.7million.Brad and Angelina, who wed in 2014 after 10 years together, have been at home in Los Angeles for the past two weeks.Last weekend, Brad was spotted attending the Born-Free Vintage Chopper and Classic Cycle Show in Silverado, California.Meanwhile, Brad is said to be in disagreement with Angelina over her wishes to sell their sprawling Chateau Miraval property in France to help further her political career in London.'Angelina is ramping up her efforts in the political world,' a source told UsWeekly.The Oscar winner has been working with Arminka Helic, the British House Of Lords member.
