She's recently been spending time in Rome while directing new movie Without Blood.And it seems Angelina Jolie has brought her children along for the trip too, as she was spotted enjoying a day out with daughters Vivienne, 13, and Zahara, 17 - even meeting up with pal Salma Hayek later on. The Hollywood star, 47, donned a flowing sand maxi dress and high-waist trouser co-ord for the outing, with a spaghetti strap detail, showing off her tattoo decorated arms and upper back. Angelina added a pair of platformed espadrilles to her look, with a large camel handbag slung over her shoulder.Her brunette tresses were pulled away from her face in a dark claw clip, as she shielded from the Italian sun in a pair of circular framed sunglasses. Stepping out in the city, her daughter Zahara walked alongside her in a sage green sundress and a pair of black high-top Converse trainers.While Angelina's youngest daughter, Vivienne, sported a pair of grey jeans and a matching crew neck sweatshirt. The family enjoyed a day of shopping, as the Mr and Mrs Smith star was snapped browsing market stalls, trying on some colourful bracelets.Taking a look at the selection of food on offer, she also browsed a spice stall at piazza o Campo De Fiori - before buying some kitchen utensils to take home. Zahara also seemed to have bagged some buys, clutching onto two carrier bags as they explored the area.In addition to shopping, the family spent some time at a cookery school in the city, making the most of Angelina's day off. They appeared tight-knit on the day out, laughing and walking closely alongside each other. She then met up with pal Salma, who has been in Rome too as she is starring in Without Blood. Angelina shares Zahara and Vivienne with ex-husband Brad Pitt, in addition to their four other children; Maddox Chivan, 20, Pax Thien, 18, Shiloh Nouvel, 16, and Knox Léon, 13. Following a tumultuous separation, she and Brad are still fighting a custody battle over their brood of six - despite filing for divorce six years ago. With reports claiming that Angelina will 'never agree to joint custody', a source told Us Weekly: 'It’s very clear to him that Angie has gone out of her way to delay and stall the process. All he can do is work with his legal team and file the paperwork whilst responding to her claims. Month after month goes by with one piece of red tape after another, endless jumping through hoops and bickering between their lawyers with no resolution.' Angelina has decided to focus on directing and producing at the moment, as she has been spotted on set for her new project Without Blood in the last few weeks. Without Blood is based on the international-bestselling novel of the same name by Italian writer Alessandro Baricc - with Angelina set to write, direct and produce it. Angelina Jolie got back in the director's chair for her latest film Without Blood in Rome on Wednesday.The actress, 47, who is stepping behind the camera for the first time in five years, was seen offering her guidance for star Salma Hayek as filming kicked off for the period drama in an area close to the iconic Colosseum.It comes as Angelina's ex-husband Brad Pitt revealed he has embraced a life of abstinence and sobriety after the couple's surprise divorce in 2016.Dressed for the warm Italian weather, Angelina cut an elegant figure in a relaxed white vest top and flared trousers as she arrived on set for filming.The star donned a straw hat as she directed the film's cast for the dramatic scenes.Meanwhile Salma donned a black velvet A-line dress with a white overcoat as she prepared to film the scenes on a flight of stairs in the city. Speaking to the latest edition of British GQ, Pitt, 58, insisted emotional turmoil and deep sadness are an inevitable part of growth. 'I think all our hearts are broken,' he said. 'I always felt very alone in my life, alone growing up as a kid, alone even out here, and it's really not till recently that I have had a greater embrace of my friends and family. 'What's that line, it was either Rilke or Einstein, believe it or not, but it was something about when you can walk with the paradox, when you carry real pain and real joy simultaneously, this is maturity, this is growth.' Newly divorced, the actor spent 18-months attending regular Alcoholics Anonymous meetings while embracing the group's core principles of abstinence from all mind altering substances, and honesty regarding the nature of addiction. Last week, the Hollywood Reporter confirmed that production on the movie was underway.Per THR, Angelina is writing and producing the project with filming taking place in the Puglia and Basilicata regions of southern Italy. The three-time Golden Globe winner also wrote the screenplay which is based the best-selling novel of the same name by Italian author Alessandro Baricco.Angelina's Eternals costar Salma Hayek Pinault and Mexican actor Demián Bichir are set to star in the film, which is described as 'the story of a girl's quest for revenge and healing during a time of conflict.'In a statement, the Salt star said 'I'm honored to be here in Italy to bring this very special material to film, and to have been entrusted by Alessandro Baricco with the adaptation of his book — with its unique poetry and emotion and way of looking at war, and the questions it poses about what we search for after trauma or loss or injustice.'Without Blood will be produced by Freemantle, Jolie Productions, The Apartment Pictures, a Fremantle company, and De Maio Entertainment with Freemantle handling distribution.The movie is the first project of a three-year deal that Angelina struck with Freemantle to star in and produce multiple films, TV shows and documentaries. In a statement, the Maleficent star said the 'freedom to tell important stories and bring them to a global audience' is at the heart of the deal. She added: 'I am excited to be working with such a passionate and forward-looking team that has an international perspective.'According to Deadline, the projects handed to Jolie in the deal will be decided on a 'case-by-case basis' as she 'seeks to tell stories that are sophisticated, powerful and internationally focused, including local language projects.'
