Oscar winner Angelina Jolie is set to star in the feature adaptation of hit Scandi novel Anxious People for A Man Called Otto and World War Z director Marc Forster.Based on A Man Called Ove author Fredrik Backman’s novel, the film is being launched ahead of the Cannes market by Black Bear and Hope Studios with the former handling international sales and WME Independent handling domestic. The uplifting comedy, set on the day before Christmas Eve, sees investment banker Zara (Jolie) begrudgingly find herself mingling with a group of strangers at an open house. When a reluctant bank robber inadvertently takes the group hostage, chaos and oversharing ensues, secrets are revealed and literally nothing goes according to plan. The movie is described as being “about a crime that never took place, a would-be bank robber who disappears into thin air, and eight extremely anxious strangers who find they have more in common than they ever imagined…Through an ingeniously constructed story, Anxious People explores the enduring power of friendship, forgiveness, and hope — the things that save us, even in the most anxious times.” The movie will reunite some of the key players behind the 2022 feature adaptation of A Man Called Otto ($110M global box office), also based on Backman’s novel. Hope Studios’ Fredrik Wikström Nicastro (A Man Called Otto) and Renée Wolfe (A Man Called Otto) of 2DUX2 will produce, with Forster, Magee and Neda Backman executive-producing.Netflix made a Swedish TV series version of the book back in 2021.Maleficent, Girl, Interrupted and Tomb Raider actress Jolie was a Tony winner last year for producing on Broadway musical The Outsiders. She most recently starred in Pablo Larraín’s Oscar-nominated biopic about Maria Callas and directed First They Killed My Father. Forster’s credits include Monster’s Ball, which earned Halle Berry an Oscar, Finding Neverland, The Kite Runner, James Bond film Quantum of Solace, World War Z, and A Man Called Otto.“Fredrik’s novels speak to our shared humanity in a way that really moves audiences, and we’re proud to be able to deliver another heartwarming and hilarious adaptation of his work”, said producer Wikström Nicastro. Forster described the story as “filled with humor, heart, chaos, and unexpected hope.”Producer Renée Wolfe added: “Anxious People is a uniquely warm and heartfelt story that speaks to our chaotic times by asking us to step outside of our own stories and slow down enough to actually see one another. It is set a week before Christmas and highlights a time when generosity and giving are values that are more in focus. Sometimes funny, sometimes dramatic and always entertaining, Anxious People is a book that has sold over 6 million copies world-wide and, with Angelina Jolie playing the lead and Marc Forster directing, will surely prove to be a movie that will captivate millions more.”

Angelina Jolie's son Knox Léon Jolie-Pitt towered over her during a grocery trip to Lazy Acres Natural Market in LA's trendy Los Feliz neighborhood on Thursday. The 49-year-old Oscar winner rocked her signature all-black attire while the 16-year-old boy sported a 'Little Tokyo' T-shirt with cargo khakis. Knox was clutching a to-go container and pushing a grocery cart filled with three paper bags, one of which had a French baguette sticking out.Jolie-Pitt appeared to have experienced a growth spurt since escorting Angelina to the 15th Governors Awards in LA on November 17. The high school junior appears to have grown as tall as his famous father Brad Pitt, who reportedly stands at 5ft11in. Jolie still has primary custody of her only remaining underage children - Knox and his fraternal twin sister Vivienne - with the 61-year-old Wolfs producer-star, and they finalized their divorce on Christmas Day.Five of the Maria actress and Brad's kids appear to be estranged from him including his daughters - Zahara, 20; Shiloh, turning 19 on May 27; and Vivienne - who've all publicly dropped his surname Pitt from their names. Pitt reportedly got into a physical altercation with his son Maddox, 23; aboard a private jet in 2016 and his son Pax, 21; called him a 'world-class a**hole' and a 'despicable person' in an explosive Instagram rant revealed by DailyMail.com. 'None of my children want to be in front of the camera at this time,' Angelina told GMA on November 21. 'They're quite private. Shiloh's extremely private. They weren't born with privacy, right? So I hope they can have that as they grow.' The couple formerly known as 'Brangelina' were technically only married from 2014-2016 despite falling in love with each other on the 2004 set of spy flick Mr. & Mrs. Smith, which prompted his 2005 divorce from Jennifer Aniston. However, Jolie and the two-time Oscar winner are entering year four of their legal war over their 1,200-acre winery Château Miraval in Correns, France where they wed, which is reportedly worth $164M. The Tony-winning producer and Brad purchased the the 35-room estate together for $28.4M in 2011, but he sued her in 2021 after she sold her stake in the ownership to the Stoli Group without his approval, which prompted a countersuit. Angelina had initially offered to settle, but she reportedly took issue with the mandatory non-disclosure agreement and backed out. On Wednesday, Variety reported that Jolie will be an interviewee and contributor to Rebecca and Josh Tickell's environmental docuseries Bee: Wild, which will have its world premiere next month at SXSW London. The Atelier Jolie founder-designer has yet to announce a US/UK release date for her dismally-reviewed sixth directorial effort Without Blood, which Fremantle released in Italian theaters on April 10. In February, Angelina wrapped her role as American filmmaker Maxine Walker on the Paris set of Alice Winocour's fashion drama Couture for Pathé. Jolie will also eventually reprise her role as the Mistress of Evil in Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures' third Maleficent film penned by Linda Woolverton.

Inside Brad and Angelina's daughter Shiloh's transformation as 18-year-old moves on from tomboy phase

While many young girls would jump at the chance to play a fairytale princess in a Hollywood blockbuster, when Angelina Jolie offered her daughter Shiloh a plum role in her 2014 film Maleficent, the eight-year-old's response was extremely telling. 'I asked Shiloh about being Aurora, and she laughed in my face,' Jolie told Elle at the time. 'She said she'd be a horned creature.' Instead, the role of the young Aurora went to her younger sister Vivienne, while Shiloh opted for a voiceover role in Kung Fu Panda two years later for her Hollywood debut. When her 18th birthday arrived, there was no lavish party. She celebrated by hiring and paying for her own lawyer to drop her father's surname, going from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie amid her parents' bitter divorce battle. It should have come as no surprise to 'Brangelina' fans as the couple were known before their split who followed the couple's unconventional family set-up as they travelled the world with their posse of six children - three adopted and three biological. While all the Jolie-Pitt children have provoked fascination, Shiloh has long been the most individual in the family and was determined to forge her own path from the age of two, when she insisted she was a boy called John, and would only wear the same clothes as her brothers. While she's since evolved out of her tomboy phase, the 18-year-old has been training for years with the Millennium Dance Complex in LA - where staff initially had no idea who her famous parents were. And she has increasingly turned to her mother Angelina, 49, for style inspiration, swapping her boyish buzz cut for long hair and tailored suits for flowing gowns. This week she was spotted wearing braids seemingly inspired by the actress' iconic Lara Croft character. Last month fans were sent wild when they spotted Shiloh wearing a 'cool' safety pin earring, which they took as a direct nod to her mum's 90s punk rock style.Meanwhile in 2021, Shiloh stunned by wearing a revamped version of her mother's Dior dress to the Eternals UK premiere in London. Speaking about her daughter's style Angelina told Reuters: 'I think she is fascinating, the choices she is making'.
The Oscar winner previously shared insight into Shiloh's tomboy phase saying the youngster considered herself to be 'one of the brothers'. Angelina and Brad, who reached a divorce settlement in December 2024 following a contentious eight-year legal battle, are also parents to sons Maddox, 23, Pax, 20, Knox, 16, as well as daughters Zahara, 19, and Vivienne, 16. 'She wants to be a boy,' she told Vanity Fair in 2011. 'So we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boys' everything. She thinks she's one of the brothers.'Apparently coining a new fashion term, she said: 'Shiloh, we feel, has Montenegro style. She dresses like a little dude. It's how people dress there. She likes tracksuits, she likes [regular] suits.'Back in 2008 it was revealed that Shiloh had requested she be addressed as John since the age of two.Brad, 61, told Oprah Winfrey: 'She only wants to be called John. John or Peter. So it's a Peter Pan thing. So we've got to call her John. 'Shi, do you want…' 'John. I'm John.' And then I'll say, 'John, would you like some orange juice?' And she goes, 'No!'.'So, you know, it's just that kind of stuff that's cute to parents and it's probably really obnoxious to other people.'Addressing the name change at the time, Angelina said that there was no need to 'interpret' anything from the request. In an interview with The Daily Mail, Angelina said: 'I don't think it's for the world to interpret anything. She likes to dress like a boy and wants her hair cut like a boy and she wanted to be called John for a while.'Some kids wear capes and want to be Superman and she wants to be like her brothers. It's who she is. It's been a surprise to us and it's really interesting, but she's so much more than that – she's funny and sweet and pretty. But she does love a tie…' Angelina revealed during an interview with Good Morning America that Shiloh is 'extremely private' as are her siblings.
Angelina stated: 'None of my children want to be in front of the camera [at] this time.' While Shiloh has spent the majority of her childhood out of the spotlight, she made her acting debut at age two in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, alongside her dad, and had a few lines in her mother's animated film, Kung Fu Panda 3, in 2016.At age eight, she turned down the opportunity to be in her mom's 2014 film Maleficent. 'I asked Shiloh about being Aurora, and she laughed in my face,' Angeline told Elle at the time. 'She said she'd be a horned creature.' Her younger sister, Vivienne, ultimately took on the role and Shiloh has reportedly spent the past few years focusing on a career in dance. In 2022, a source told HollywoodLife that 'Angelina has made a huge effort to nurture her kids' interests in all kinds of things' and 'enrolled them in everything from art classes to computer programming to martial arts and, at one point or aother, all the kids have tried out dance lessons.' After seeing that Shiloh was a natural at dance, the performer made a 'big point to nurture that.' 'Shiloh started out with private lessons before she joined a small studio near their house and then all through the pandemic, she was doing zoom classes. She's very committed to it,' the insider revealed. 'Angelina's amazed by how talented Shiloh is, but more than that she loves to see how happy Shiloh is when she's dancing.'Shiloh, or 'Shi' to her friends and family, first wowed the world with her dance skills in 2021, when a video of her performing went viral.Shiloh has been a member of Millennium Dance Complex for many years and has gone viral for her moves a number of times. In May, her longtime choreographer, Keelan Carter, revealed to DailyMail.com that the teenager could not be further from the stereotypical Hollywood 'nepo baby.' 'Shiloh is an exceptionally talented dancer, demonstrating dedication and hard work,' the accomplished choreographer, actor and fashion designer continued.'She is a sincere and straightforward person who never uses her celebrity status to her advantage.''Shi does not rely on her famous name to achieve her goals. Honestly, I didn't even know who she was at first and I don't think this matters, especially in a dance studio.'I understand that it can be difficult to see the person beyond her celebrity status, but I urge you to make an effort for her. Believe me, it is worth it.'Keelan told DailyMail.com that his recent dance videos featuring Shiloh 'were made in the same way I post any dancer who comes to my sessions or classes and whom I believe deserves to be featured.'
Keelan has posted numerous videos featuring Shiloh, as have several of her other dance class colleagues, but the famous daughter is rarely tagged in any of the videos, as they all respect her privacy, DailyMail.com was told. Although Angelina - who worked with the the UN Refugee Agency for more than two decades - has not commented specifically on Shiloh's dance, she has spoken out about fostering the unique talents of all of her children. 'Children should be allowed to express themselves in whatever way they wish without anybody judging them because it is an important part of their growth,' she once said in an interview with Reuters. In 2022, Shiloh's dad, Brad, gushed about his daughter's dance ability to Entertainment Tonight while promoting his film Bullet Train. He called Shiloh 'very beautiful' and said that her talent 'brings a tear the eye.''I don't know where she got it from. I'm Mr. Two-Left-Feet here,' Brad told ET at time.Shiloh's dance talent has been recognised since 2021 when a video of her dancing to Vegas by Rihanna was shared on YouTube by LA-based choreographer Hamilton Evans.Another video saw Shiloh busting her best moves to Lizzo's About Damn Time, while the rest of her dance troupe watched on from behind.'Shiloh loves dancing. She's seriously talented and has been going to these classes for a few years now,' an insider told Us Weekly at the time.'She's made some good friends through the dancing community too, and they're all in chat groups and share their favorite playlists and that type of stuff.'The teachers are all very impressed with her and say the sky's the limit if she wants to take it to the next level, and Shiloh may just do that.'The source added: 'Brad and Angie are both very proud. They'd have no issue if she wants to turn pro, but they're not pushing it on her by any means.'

Shiloh Jolie looks more like her actress mom Angelina than ever after styling her long hair in Lara Croft braids

Shiloh Jolie bore a striking resemblance to her famous mother when she was spotted catching up with her pals outside of a dance studio in Los Angeles over the weekend. The 18-year-old daughter of Angelina Jolie was the spitting image of her mother, as she had her long hair tied up in Dutch braids that resembled the eye-catching hairstyle her mother wore to play Lara Croft in her two Tomb Raider films. The mother–daughter duo also shared the same chiseled features that helped make Angelina an A-list star decades earlier.Shiloh was pictured taking it easy with her dance classmates on Saturday as they relaxed and snacked on the steps leading up to the front entrance. The outing comes months after a source close to Shiloh's father, Brad Pitt, told DailyMail.com that he was determined to fix their broken relationship now that she had turned 18, despite her decision to drop his last name. The nepo baby also seemed to share with her mother — a former special envoy to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees — a commitment to social justice, as she wore a black hoodie for the nonprofit fundraiser United Way.She paired the baggy top with loose-fitting black sweatpants that would have been ideal for movement-intense dance classes, along with sleek black trainers Shiloh only strengthened her resemblance to her famous mother by tying her short blond hair up in Dutch braids, which bore a strong resemblance to the braids her mother wore as Lara Croft in her Tomb Raider films. She was pictured browsing through her phone while chatting and laughing with her friends and classmates, who had all joined her to sit on the front steps. Back in July of last year, the choreographer Kolanie Marks spoke with People about Shiloh's dedication to her dance education. The dancer, who said he had worked with Shiloh for 'a couple years now,' praised the teen for how she adapted to his strenuous routines. 'My style is a lot harder for a lot of people and it's something that she's dedicated herself to trying to figure out,' he said, while praising her commitment 'to a craft that is extremely hard.'
He added that, though he makes sure to protect Shiloh's privacy and not get into the conflict within her famous family, it was easy to forget her high-profile origins because of how assured a dancer she had become. He also singled out her single greatest gift as 'consistency,' explaining that Shiloh regularly trains not just with him but with other dancers and choreographers to continue developing her skills. It's not clear if Shiloh has any big moves planned in the near future, but for now she's sharing close to her mother Angelina in Los Angeles, even as the Oscar winner has been suffering from 'empty nest syndrome' after another of her children moved away.Late last month, the actress revealed to the New York Times that one of her sons have moved east to New York City, where he was living in an apartment she had purchased early in her career following her success in the biopic Gia.Although she didn't specify among her sons Maddox, Pax and Knox — all of whom she shares with her ex Brad — it is believed to be Maddox, 23, as Pax is regularly seen around Los Angeles, while Knox is only 16.During the chat, Angelina joked that her son is like plenty of other young men in making neatness and cleanliness secondary concerns.'The other day I said I was going to pop by, and he was like can you just give me a day to clean?' she recalled.'I thought, I appreciate that, you should clean up for your mother,' she said. 'But also, how bad is it?'Maddox appears to be following in his mother's footsteps with a path in Hollywood. He has already worked as an assistant director on several films she has either directed or starred in, including 2015's By The Sea — which she and Pitt starred in before their divorce — 2017's First They Killed My Father and Pablo Larraín's 2024 biopic Maria, in which she played the iconic opera singer Maria Callas.Although Maddox wants to be involved in filmmaking, and Shiloh is interested in dance performance, Angelina stressed in an interview with Good Morning America from November that none of her children see themselves working in front of the camera like her or their estranged father.
