Oscar-winning actress and former UN Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie was spotted this week in the embattled city of Kherson, Ukraine, reportedly on a humanitarian mission. Kherson has been a frontline target of Russian forces since 2022, and locals say Jolie visited several hospitals, including a maternity ward and a children’s hospital, bringing attention to civilians caught in the crossfire. Former city council member Vitaliy Bohdanov shared photos of Jolie in a body armor vest bearing the Legacy of War Foundation patch, a charity assisting those affected by the conflict. Another local outlet posted images of Jolie playing with children in a toy-strewn playroom, all while donning the protective gear. Daily Mail has not received a response to its request for comment from reps for Jolie. Russian forces continue near-daily strikes on Kherson, including an October 29 attack on a children's hospital that injured nine, highlighting the perilous conditions Jolie faced during her visit. Jolie served as a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador from 2001 to 2012 and as Special Envoy until 2022, carrying out more than 60 field missions to aid refugees and displaced families. She stepped down from the role to focus on broader humanitarian and human rights issues, but has returned to Ukraine multiple times. In 2022, she visited Lviv, meeting children injured in the Kramatorsk train station missile strike. She spoke with displaced families at the city’s railway station, taking shelter under air raid sirens. The Malificent star also paid a visit to Ukrainian Child refugees in Rome that same year. That same year, she visited Ukrainian child refugees in Rome at Bambino Gesu pediatric hospital just outside Vatican City. Here she met Ukranian children who had arrived in Italy after fleeing the war in their home country. These children were among the more than two million estimated by UNICEF who have fled Ukraine since Russia launched its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, with another 2.5 million displaced internally. In February 2022, Jolie spoke about the war in Ukraine in a post to her Instagram followers. She wrote: 'Like many of you, I'm praying for the people in Ukraine.'My focus along with my @refugees colleagues is that everything possible is done to ensure the protection and basic human rights of those displaced, and refugees in the region.'We have already seen reports of casualties and people starting to flee their homes to seek safety.'It is too soon to know what will happen, but the significance of this moment - for the people of Ukraine, and for the international rule of law - cannot be overstated.'
Jolie's decades-long humanitarian work earned her a Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award in 2013.The visit to Ukraine comes after Jolie's next career move was revealed as she prepares to be the latest A-lister to flee Hollywood. The actress is reuniting with the Mr. and Mrs. Smith director Doug Liman for another spy thriller. She is starring in the upcoming film titled The Initiative with Liman directing and F. Scott Frazier writing the script, per The Hollywood Reporter. She last worked with the director on the set of the 2005 action-comedy, where she met her ex-husband Brad Pitt. Jolie will portray a rogue master spy named Bright in the movie, which has been described as 'Training Day set in the world spycraft.'Meanwhile, she is reportedly looking to sell her historic Los Angeles home and move abroad as the latest A-lister to pack up to leave Hollywood behind, according to People. The mom-of-six wants to 'put the house up for sale' and move when her youngest kids, twins Knox and Vivienne, turn 18 next year. She shares the twins as well as Maddox, 24, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, and Shiloh, 19, with ex-husband Brad, 61. The star 'never wanted to live in L.A. full time' but she 'didn't have a choice because of the custody arrangement with Brad,' a source told the publication. Brad Pitt is moving forward in the ongoing legal case with ex-wife Angelina Jolie over their French winery Château Miraval.Attorneys for the Fight Club actor, 61, entered a court filing in Los Angeles County Superior Court Monday asking for records of private conversations the Maleficent actress, 50, had over the sale of her share of the property.Jolie has past said that attorney-client privilege played a role in her ongoing refusal to turn over the messages, People reported after reviewing the court filing.Jolie 'is abusing the privilege to bury critical documents that go to the heart of the case,' attorneys for the Oscar winning actor argued in the court filing, asking for 22 documents in all.Daily Mail has reached out to reps for both parties for further comment on the story. Pitt's legal team said that Jolie's legal logic was not sound as to why she is refusing to turn over the communications.'It is Jolie's burden to prove that non-attorney communications are privileged, not Pit's burden to disprove this,' Pitt's legal team said in the court filing, according to People.Paul Murphy, Jolie’s counsel told the Daily Mail: 'Mr. Pitt’s reply brief does not address our arguments and continues to rely on conjecture and speculation – all for the purpose of invading her privileged communications with her lawyers. 'This once again confirms that this lawsuit is the manifestation of Mr. Pitt’s years-long effort to harass and control Angelina. We look forward to the upcoming hearing.Jolie entered a court filing earlier this month stating her displeasure with how things have turned out involving the French winery.Jolie said that upon the 2016 split, she left Pitt 'control (and full residency) of our family homes in Los Angeles and at Miraval, without compensation, which I hoped would make him calmer in his dealings with me after a difficult and traumatic period
'To this day, the children and I have never again set foot on the property, given its connection to the painful events leading to the divorce.'The former couple are parents to six children: Maddox, 24, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 17. They split up in 2016 following a 12-year relationship and two-year marriage, with their divorce finalized eight years later in December 2024 amid a number of legal battles. As Daily Mail previously reported, the former A-list duo is officially headed to trial next year — and both sides are bracing for a lengthy fight. The warring exes will soon come face to face in court after a judge tossed Jolie’s attempt to dismiss Pitt’s lawsuit over Château Miraval, the sprawling French estate where they tied the knot in 2014. The property, known for its award-winning rosé, has become ground zero in the stars' years-long legal war.Last year Jolie tried to shut down Pitt’s claims that she sold her stake in the estate behind his back — despite what he says was a verbal agreement to hold onto their 50-50 split. After her motion was denied, the case is moving full speed ahead. Pitt expects the jury trial to last about 15 days, while Jolie believes it will take over two weeks, according to court documents obtained by UsWeekly. The trial date hasn’t been locked in yet, and several key motions are still on the table.Pitt called the case 'complex,' citing international parties and multiple cross-claims involved in the tangled dispute, per the court documents. A source close to the actor told DailyMail.com: 'This is a straightforward business dispute, but unfortunately, the other side has consistently introduced personal elements which have exposed the weaknesses in their case and complicated and lengthened the proceedings.'Pitt filed the $67 million lawsuit against Jolie in 2022, less than a year after the shares were sold, setting off a protracted court battle between the exes.

Angelina Jolie has detailed her split from Brad Pitt in a new legal update on the 'painful events' that led to their 8-year divorce. The actress, 50, filed for divorce from the actor, 61, in 2016, just days after an infamous incident aboard a private jet in which she accused Brad of being physically and verbally abusive toward her and her children while intoxicated, claims he has denied. The former couple share six children: Maddox, 24; Pax, 21; Zahara, 20; Shiloh, 19; and 17-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. Now, Angelina has detailed just how difficult her divorce from her ex-husband was in a newly filed court declaration. On Monday, she filed new documents as part of their never-ending court battle brought by Brad over their home in France, Château Miraval. In documents obtained by Daily Mail, Angelina wrote: 'The events leading to my need to separate from my ex-husband were emotionally difficult for me and our children.'Upon filing for divorce, I left him control (and full residency) of our family homes in Los Angeles and at Miraval, without compensation, which I hoped would make him calmer in his dealings with me after a difficult and traumatic period.' She continued: 'To this day, the children and I have never again set foot on the property, given its connection to the painful events leading to the divorce. 'Post-separation, I immediately began to look for a new house for me and our children, initially renting a home while looking for a more stable solution. 'Because I wanted to ensure that Brad remained an important part of our children's lives, I looked to buy a property near his home. 'At the time, my savings were tied up in Miraval, and I had not asked Brad for alimony or any other financial support.' The Daily Mail has contacted Brad's representative for comment. It comes after it was reported that Brad is requesting to see Angelina's private messages in a new legal filing. On June 30, the F1 actor logged documents stating he's struggled to acquire the actress's communications, which he thinks could provide critical evidence in their ongoing clash over their French winery.Brad and Angelina entered into an acrimonious back-and-forth over NDA's, which have become a key point in their fight, after the latter sold her stake in the winery. In July 2024, Angelina asked Brad to 'end the fighting' and drop the lawsuit against her to allow their family to 'heal.' But sources told the Daily Mail that the Fight Club actor had 'no intention' of dropping it, alleging that Jolie only made the plea after realising that she does not have as strong a case as she previously thought.'Brad is not going to drop this lawsuit – why would he? This was a very standard business dispute but unfortunately, Angelina has consistently introduced personal elements that are meant for a divorce court,' a person close to the situation shared.
Per legal documents obtained by People in February 2022, the Maleficent actress auctioned off her portion to Tenute del Mondo of the manufacturer Stoli Group. In turn, Pitt claims that Jolie's former investment company Nouvel owed his company Mondo Bongo the right of first refusal.Following their breakup, Brad has a strained relationship with his and Angelina's kids. Several of them have dropped his last name from their monikers recently, with Zahara being the first. Vivienne and Shiloh followed suit and the longtime leading man now has 'virtually no contact' with his adult children. Elsewhere, Brad's ex-wife Jennifer Aniston revealed she endured a 20-year secret battle to have a baby. The Friends icon, 56, gave a rare interview to Harper's Bazaar UK's November issue, about the false narrative that she didn't want to become a mother because she's a 'selfish workaholic'. She said: ‘They didn’t know my story, or what I’d been going through over the past 20 years to try to pursue a family, because I don’t go out there and tell them my medical woes.'That’s not anybody’s business. But there comes a point when you can’t not hear it – the narrative about how I won’t have a baby, won’t have a family, because I’m selfish, a workaholic. 'It does affect me – I’m just a human being. We’re all human beings. That’s why I thought, “What the hell?”'However, the older Jennifer gets, the less she feels the need to 'correct a false narrative'. She explained: 'The news cycle is so fast, it just goes away.'Of course, there are times when I feel that sense of justice – when something has been said that isn’t true and I need to right the wrong.'And then I think, do I really? My family knows my truth, my friends know my truth.’ Jennifer was married to Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005. They split after he met actress Angelina Jolie on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith. In 2022, Jennifer tragically revealed she had unsuccessfully tried IVF - and admitted she wished she had frozen her eggs years earlier.'It was a challenging road for me, the baby-making road,' Jennifer said at the time.'My late 30s, 40s, I'd gone through really hard sh[*]t, and if it wasn't for going through that, I would've never become who I was meant to be. I was trying to get pregnant.'All the years and years and years of speculation... It was really hard. I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it.'I would've given anything if someone had said to me, "Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor." You just don't think it. So here I am today. The ship has sailed. But I have zero regrets.'Jennifer was aged 35 when she split from Brad and previously said the suggestion he left her because she wouldn't give him a child was an 'absolute lie'. Brad went on to have has six children with Angelina.

She has made no secret of her intention to move abroad once her children turn 18.And a new report has shed further light into Angelina Jolie's relocation plans and where she will likely be based once she leaves Los Angeles. A new Us Weekly article has dug deeper into Jolie's relocation efforts, with an insider revealing she will likely be spending time in areas of the world connected to her children.Jolie is also legally single following the end of her years-long divorce battle from Brad Pitt late last year, with a source telling the site, 'You can really feel a shift in Angelina recently; she’s lighter and more at ease,' they said. 'She’ll always love L.A., but she feels it has served its purpose. She’s ready for her next chapter.'A second insider added: 'She's very excited for this next phase of her life.' The second source says Jolie intends on moving in July after her youngest children, twins Knox and Vivienne, celebrate their 18th birthday, and will probably be based part-time in Cambodia, the country where she adopted son Maddox from in 2002, and an area where she also owns property.Jolie also will likely be found in France and Africa, areas of the world that are also close to her heart. Her twins were born in Nice, France, and she adopted daughter Zahara from Ethiopia and gave birth to Shiloh in Namibia.'They’re all very special places,' the source continued. 'She has dear friends in all of [those areas] who she considers confidantes and family.' The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Jolie over the report but have not yet heard back. The new report comes after Jolie revealed she no longer recognizes the United States, after she addressed her fears as an artist and American following controversy surrounding Jimmy Kimmel's show (the late night series was briefly taken off the air following comments he made about Charlie Kirk's accused killer).'The MAGA Gang (is) desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,' Kimmel said on his show, which sparked the controversy. 'In between the finger-pointing, there was grieving.'President Trump's FCC chairman Brendan Carr accused Kimmel of 'slandering' the late Turning Point USA founder and suggested that ABC could face consequences if it didn't take action. He also warned the FCC may review the public interest obligations of ABC and its affiliates.Days after the scandal erupted, Angelina was asked about her concerns as an artist and American at a press conference at the San Sebastian Film Festival.'It is a very difficult question,' Angelina said, according to Variety. 'I love my country, but at this time, I don’t recognize my country.''I’ve always lived internationally, my family is international, my friends, my life… My worldview is equal, united, and international. Anything anywhere that divides or limits personal expressions and freedoms from anyone, I think, is very dangerous. These are such serious times that we have to be careful not to say things casually. These are very, very heavy times we are living in together,' she said.
Jolie has also previously denounced Trump's policies during his first administration. She wrote in an op-ed for The New York Times: 'We must never allow our values to become the collateral damage of a search for greater security.'A mother of six, Jolie shares Maddox, 24, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, and Shiloh, 19, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 17, with ex-husband Brad Pitt, 61, whom she filed for divorce from in 2016.After their split, Angelina purchased a historic Los Feliz estate owned by iconic Hollywood director Cecil B. DeMille - a home located nearby their father. 'I wanted it to be close to their dad, who is only five minutes away,' she told Harper's Bazaar in 2019.'I would love to live abroad and will do so as soon as my children are 18. Right now I’m having to base where their father chooses to live,' she added. A source recently told People Jolie 'is 'eyeing several locations abroad' and intends on selling the house and moving once her youngest children turn 18.Jolie 'never wanted to live in L.A. full time' but she 'didn't have a choice because of the custody arrangement with Brad,' a source told People. The exes reached a settlement in their ugly divorce in December 2024 after an eight-year legal battle.'She'll be very happy when she's able to leave Los Angeles,' the insider added.Jolie previously opened up about her desire to leave Los Angeles in 2024, but said she had to remain in California until her and Pitt's six children all turn 18. 'I grew up in this town [Los Angeles]. I am here because I have to be here from a divorce, but as soon as they're 18, I'll be able to leave,' she told The Hollywood Reporter. She continued: 'When you have a big family, you want them to have privacy, peace, safety. I have a house now to raise my children, but sometimes this place can be … that humanity that I found across the world is not what I grew up with here.'After her youngest two children become legal adults, Jolie said she plans on spending 'a lot of time in Cambodia' and visiting her 'family members wherever they may be in the world.'
Jolie will join a number of other Hollywood stars who've left Los Angeles in recent years, including Natalie Portman, Mark Wahlberg, Eva Longoria, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, Sophie Turner as well as Rosie O'Donnell among others. In the meantime, the star is remaining busy with her thriving career in showbiz, which recently pivoted from Hollywood to Broadway. She co-produced the show The Outsiders, a production based on S.E Hinton's 1987 novel and Francis Ford Coppola's 1983 coming-of-age crime drama.Last year it won numerous Tony Awards - including Best Musical. 'In Tulsa, Oklahoma, 1967, Ponyboy Curtis, his best friend Johnny Cade and their Greaser family of ‘outsiders’ battle with their affluent rivals, the Socs. THE OUTSIDERS navigates the complexities of self-discovery as the Greasers dream about who they want to become in a world that may never accept them. With a dynamic original score, THE OUTSIDERS is a story of friendship, family, belonging…and the realization that there is still “lots of good in the world,"' according to the show's website. In a conversation with the musical's director Danya Taymor, Jolie reflected on how the storyline has resonated with audiences around the world. 'Somebody said, "You know, this is a uniquely American story." But I have also found it extraordinary how much the story has resonated globally,' she explained in the video, obtained by People.'It's what we have in common. Everywhere in the world has something that has challenged those neighborhoods, those families, those people, where you're wondering your place and where communities or class systems put people against each other and have made them feel very different and very separate.'
