Why Angelina Jolie is blocking Brad Pitt's third marriage

Brad Pitt believes Angelina Jolie is 'stalling' on their divorce being finalized to stop his hopes of a third marriage, according to sources who claim that the actress is using the situation as 'another tactic' to control her ex-husband.'Brangelina' became a couple in 2006 and tied the knot in 2014 before their shock split in 2016, which triggered a bitter feud in the courts over child custody and their property.Brad, 60, has since moved on with 31-year-old jewelry executive Ines de Ramon, who has become his live-in girlfriend as their romance continues to flourish. Now insiders have revealed that the Fight Club star is keen to get 'married again' but that his acrimonious legal battle with Angelina is stopping him from being to able to 'move forward,' as he wants to be fully divorced before he remarries. 'Brad does want to be married again but Angie is still standing in the way, and he just wants it to be over,' an insider close to Brad exclusively told DailyMail.com. 'She's been dragging this out for almost a decade. Now she is stalling on their divorce being finalized.'The insider claimed that Brad's estranged relationship with his children could be a key reason for the actress' actions, as they suggested she is waiting for the twins to turn 18 before finalizing the divorce. The former couple share three biological children - Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16 - as well as their adopted children Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, and Zahara, 19. Since their parents' bitter split, Zahara, Shiloh and Vivienne has all dropped Pitt from their last name.It has been reported that Maddox and Pax do not talk to their father - while it is believed that Knox and Vivienne still confer with the Fight Club star, though they have not been pictured with him in several years. The insider added: 'She’s using this as another tactic to maintain control over him and Brad knows she is seething that he is happy.' The insider then explained that Brad is determined to resolve all his legal issues with his ex-wife, and that Ines is ready to support him during the continued battle.'This is going on eight years now and although he would like to move forward with Ines, they both know it isn’t possible, and this is infuriating to Brad,' the insider noted. 'He is so ready to tackle Miraval. Ines will wait as long as it takes.'
DailyMail.com has contacted reps for both parties for comment.  Brad and Ines were initially seen spending time with one another during a November 2022 Bono concert. The two live together in the Los Angeles area, it has been claimed by People. DailyMail.com previously revealed that Ines has made it clear to her friends, family, and work contacts that her relationship with Brad is off-limits for discussion. The entrepreneur even required her business contacts to sign non-disclosure agreements to ensure that no details about her personal life are leaked.Ines reportedly takes these precautions to avoid giving the actor any impression that she's using their relationship to gain fame. Now the actor is said to be looking to share his future with the brunette beauty as another source stated: 'Brad is interested in getting married again, and it is all thanks to Ines. 'The thing about her is that he is so comfortable with her that it just feels right with her, and he would be more than OK to make it official.'The source noted that Ines even has the seal of approval from Brad's close circle as they continued: 'He has spoken to those close to him, including George, and everyone has signed off on him doing it, it would be a nice thing for him as it would be the official moving on from his romantic past with [Jennifer Aniston] and Angie. 'That is obviously in everyone's mind and will always be forever in the minds of millions, but it is Ines and her no nonsense nature that has finally been the person to settle down with.'The source even teased that an engagement will likely take place in the New Year as they stated: 'It is time and 2025 at some point is going to be the moment he will get engaged to her.' The news comes after Angelina opened up about feeling lonely and 'in a strange way' ahead of her upcoming court battle with Brad.
The ongoing dispute has seen the feuding exes attack each other in legal filings ever since Brad sued Angelina in 2022 for selling her stake in their Chateau Miraval estate, which produces an award-winning sparkling rosé.Their ongoing clash began when the actress accused Brad of physical assault while flying to California back in September 2016.She claimed that he was intoxicated and grabbed her by the head, shook her, and later pushed her down, as part of a confrontation allegedly related to their children. The Salt actress told the FBI that Brad told the children that she was 'f***ing up this family,' and claimed he punched the ceiling of the airplane four times. She claimed that at one point he poured beer on her and a blanket she was under with multiple children.A source close to the Meet Joe Black actor later insisted that he never hit any of the children, though they admitted that he had been drinking. The Ocean's Eleven star then sued Angeline in 2022 for selling her stake in their French vineyard. Earlier this month, Angelina scored a major legal victory against her ex-husband after a judge ruled that he must hand over documents and communications which could prove he was abusive towards the actress and their children.Legal filings seen by DailyMail.com show that the communications Brad has been ordered to share are between September 14, 2016 to December 31, 2018.That will include emails, texts and other written communications, but nothing between him and his attorneys or therapists. She previously accused him of pouring red wine and beer over his ex and one of the couple's children on a private plane.Brad has always denied being abusive and was cleared by law enforcement following an investigation – though his ex claimed in filings that his 'history of physical abuse' started 'well before' the plane incident. The Maleficent actress filed documents in July claiming that the actor tried to force her to sign an $8.5million NDA to cover up 'years of abuse.'At the same time, her legal team asked that the court compel Brad to disclose 'private, third-party communications' he had about their family's 2016 plane ride that resulted in Angelina filing for divorce.Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Lia Martin issued the ruling after the actress's lawyers claimed that the documents would prove her claims Brad tried to make her sign an NDA.

Angelina Jolie opens up about feeling lonely and 'in a strange way' ahead of her bitter court battle with ex husband Brad Pitt

Angelina Jolie has opened up about feeling lonely and 'in a strange way' ahead of her bitter court battle with ex husband Brad Pitt. The former A-List couple - who split eight years ago with Angelina accusing Brad of abuse - are in the midst of an acrimonious legal battle for their French vineyard. But years on from their messy split, Angelina, 49, made a candid confession about how she spends most of her time alone now. Speaking to The Sun at a London hotel on Saturday, Angelina revealed the trait she scares with opera star Maria Callas - who she portrays in the upcoming biopic Maria - was loneliness. 'I have my children I love but as an adult I'm often alone, I find myself identifying with the solitude and loneliness she has,' she said.'I also haven't quite figured out how to live life in a way where I'm on my own, maybe a lot of artists feel that we're in an open space as a person. 'We don't quite settle. So it leaves us in a strange way sometimes.'Angelina recently scored a major legal victory against ex-husband Brad after a judge ruled that he must hand over documents and communications which could prove he was abusive towards the actress and their children. The ongoing dispute has seen the feuding exes attack each other in legal filings ever since Pitt sued Jolie in 2022 for selling her stake in their Chateau Miraval estate, which produces an award-winning sparkling rosé. Legal filings seen by DailyMail.com show that the communications Pitt, 60, has been ordered to produce begins the day Jolie claims he abused her on a private plane shortly before their separation in 2016.She previously accused him of pouring red wine and beer over his ex and one of the couple's children on a private plane. Pitt has always denied being abusive and was cleared by law enforcement following an investigation – though his ex-wife claimed in filings that his 'history of physical abuse' started 'well before' the plane incident. Jolie, 49, asked the court to force her ex-husband to disclose anything between September 14, 2016 to December 31, 2018. That will include emails, texts and other written communications, but nothing between him and his attorneys or therapists. The Maleficent actress filed documents in July claiming that the actor tried to force her to sign an $8.5million NDA to cover up 'years of abuse.' At the same time, her legal team asked that the court compel Pitt to disclose 'private, third-party communications' he had about their family's 2016 plane ride that resulted in Jolie filing for divorce. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Lia Martin issued the ruling last Monday, after Jolie's lawyers claimed that the documents would prove her claims Pitt tried to make her sign an NDA. She claims that the gag order would have prevented her from speaking out about the alleged abuse, amid a verbal agreement she would sell her half of the winery to Pitt. Jolie's lawyers claim that the documents will prove 'communications concerning abuse, lies to authorities, and years of cover up' on Pitt's part. Pitt's legal team sought for the motion to be denied, claiming the requests were 'wide-ranging and intrusive'.The actors' lawyers also branded the filing as a 'sensationalist fishing expedition', with sources calling the latest ruling 'irrelevant', as the actor has provided 'so much information already'. Paul Murphy, a lawyer for Jolie, branded the documents as 'crucial evidence' that Pitt has 'fought for years to hide.'

It has been reported that Maddox and Pax do not talk to their father while Shiloh has gone so far as to have Pitt removed from her last name. Zahara does not seem to use Pitt either. It is believed that Knox and Vivienne still confer with the Fight Club star, though they have not been pictured with him in several years. All six of the children are regularly photographed with their mother Jolie and even work with her on her films, the Broadway show The Outsiders, and her shop Atelier Jolie.Physical distance does not seem to be an issue as both Pitt and Jolie reside in the Los Angeles area within miles of each other. The source added that if the kids do not want to see Brad, he will instead go on a trip with his girlfriend Ines, an executive at a jewelry company. The two live together in the same house in the Los Angeles area, it has been claimed by People. She already has an Oscar on her shelf from her role in Girl, Interrupted. As far as her battle with Brad, it does not seem to be winding down.Jolie and Pitt are still engaged in a legal conflict over the Chateau Miraval, the winery they shared as a couple in the South Of France. The feud over the property stems from the fact Angelina sold her half to Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler for $62 million in 2021, amid her divorce proceedings.Pitt sued her over the sale, insisting that she was contractually obligated to obtain his consent before offloading her portion of the Chateau Miraval.Jolie has brought up her abuse allegations and the custody battle over the course of her years-long legal feud with Brad over the Chateau Miraval. She has asked Pitt to 'end the fighting' and drop the winery lawsuit against her so that their family can have a chance to 'heal.' She has a similar drawing on her chest, only in that one the bird is flying up.This new mark is located above the coordinates from where her six children were born - she shares Maddox, 23, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and 16-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox with ex Brad Pitt, whom she has battling through a nasty divorce for eight years. The fresh tat showed nicely on her arm as she wore a sleeveless black long dress with platform heels while talking to the press on the red carpet. In June the Maria actress showed off the bird mark in the middle of her chest as she made a glamorous appearance at the 77th Annual Tony Awards. Jolie has also said in the past that some of her children have the bird tattoo in different locations. As in, they don't all have the bird tattoos on their chest. 'There is also a Bird that I share with some of my children that is personal to us,' Angelina said to CR Fashion Book. The Maleficent actress, 49, first flaunted the tiny chest ink in June as she graced the red carpet alongside her teenage daughter Vivienne, 15. Brad Pitt ordered to hand over documents that could prove he was abusive towards Angelina Jolie and kids

Angelina Jolie has scored a major legal victory against ex-husband Brad Pitt after a judge ruled that he must hand over documents and communications which could prove he was abusive towards the actress and their children. The former A-List couple seem determined to dredge up the past and throw everything they can at each other amid their acrimonious legal battle for their French vineyard. The ongoing dispute has seen the feuding exes attack each other in legal filings ever since Pitt sued Jolie in 2022 for selling her stake in their Chateau Miraval estate, which produces an award-winning sparkling rosé.Legal filings seen by DailyMail.com show that the communications Pitt, 60, has been ordered to produce begins the day Jolie claims he abused her on a private plane shortly before their separation in 2016.She previously accused him of pouring red wine and beer over his ex and one of the couple's children on a private plane.Pitt has always denied being abusive and was cleared by law enforcement following an investigation – though his ex-wife claimed in filings that his 'history of physical abuse' started 'well before' the plane incident.Jolie, 49, asked the court to force her ex-husband to disclose anything between September 14, 2016 to December 31, 2018.That will include emails, texts and other written communications, but nothing between him and his attorneys or therapists. The Maleficent actress filed documents in July claiming that the actor tried to force her to sign an $8.5million NDA to cover up 'years of abuse.'At the same time, her legal team asked that the court compel Pitt to disclose 'private, third-party communications' he had about their family's 2016 plane ride that resulted in Jolie filing for divorce.Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Lia Martin issued the ruling last Monday, after Jolie's lawyers claimed that the documents would prove her claims Pitt tried to make her sign an NDA.She claims that the gag order would have prevented her from speaking out about the alleged abuse, amid a verbal agreement she would sell her half of the winery to Pitt.Jolie's lawyers claim that the documents will prove 'communications concerning abuse, lies to authorities, and years of cover up' on Pitt's part.Pitt's legal team sought for the motion to be denied, claiming the requests were 'wide-ranging and intrusive'.
The actors' lawyers also branded the filing as a 'sensationalist fishing expedition', with sources calling the latest ruling 'irrelevant', as the acter has provided 'so much information already'.Paul Murphy, a lawyer for Jolie, branded the documents as 'crucial evidence' that Pitt has 'fought for years to hide.'In a statement he said: 'His actions harmed Angelina and their children and are central to this case.'But I want to again emphasize that Angelina never wanted any of this. She never pressed charges, she left all their properties, and she is the one who tried to sell him the business in the first place.'To this day, Mr. Pitt has never been held accountable for his actions and has at all times controlled Miraval and the winery, yet he still demands more. She wants this to end, the children want this to end, and Mr. Pitt should focus on healing their family, not pursuing lawsuits.'It comes after Pitt himself scored a major legal victory, with Judge Martin throwing out Jolie's attempt to dismiss the lawsuit.'It's already been ugly but it's going to get even uglier as Angie will insist on retaliating against Brad and trying to settle old more personal scores,' an insider told DailyMail.com.'And it's going to get costlier too – with their legal wrangling already costing both sides millions.'Court filings suggest that the judge has found a basis in Pitt's claims that their original verbal agreement was binding, and Jolie may have violated them when she sold her shares to Russian businessman Yuri Shefler and his Stoli Group in 2021.Pitt's lawyers say that Jolie violated their deal to not sell their stakes in Miraval without both parties' permission. With the dismissal of the three filings, the former A-List couple - who wed at the Provence, Southern France estate in 2014 and split in 2016 – are set to face off in court at the trial next year.Pitt filed the $67million lawsuit against Jolie in 2022, less than a year after the shares were sold.
Jolie faces potential damages claims if she does not undo the deal she made with Yuri Shefler regarding the sale of her Miraval stake. Her frustration over Pitt being awarded joint custody of their children in 2021, suggests the dispute has become highly personal for the pair, going beyond the original business matter.Jolie has also been accused of trying to drive a wedge between her estranged husband and their six kids in the aftermath of their split. Pitt's team claims she believes her deal with Shefler was 'justified' due to the NDA her ex-husband asked her to sign. She was dealt another blow earlier this year after the court ruled, she must produce every NDA that she signed with a third-party over an eight-year period from 2014 - the year they married - to 2022.NDAs have become a key battleground in the dispute over Chateau Miraval after Jolie claims she backed out of their agreement because Pitt asked her to sign one as part of their business deal. She claims that it was an 'unconscionable' attempt by her ex-partner to 'control her' after their split in April 2019, with his lawyers asking LA Superior Court to unwind the sale because of their agreement to not sell to a third party. But Pitts attorneys have argued that Jolie's NDA objection was really just a cover story which she cooked-up to 'rationalize' her betrayal of Pitt by deciding to sell her stake behind his back. The Fight Club star's attorneys also claim that Jolie herself 'weaponized' NDAs, and asked for Pitt to sign a broader NDA just six months later as part of their divorce settlement talks.Pitt's legal team asked in previous filings that she come clean about NDAs she entered into with third parties including staff.Pitt has landed several legal victories in the battle for the winery including a key judgement in Luxembourg which handed him back control of the award-winning vineyard pending further hearings. In March, LA Superior Court rejected the allegations that his suit was 'frivolous, malicious, and part of a problematic pattern.

Angelina Jolie says being a parent is 'everything' to her amid ongoing divorce battle with Brad Pitt

Angelina Jolie gushed that being a parent is 'everything' to her amid her ongoing divorce battle with ex-husband, Brad Pitt. The Maleficent actress, 49, opened up about motherhood during an interview with The Sunday Times while promoting her upcoming film, Maria. The star — who has ignited Oscars buzz over her portrayal of late opera singer Maria Callas in the biopic — shares Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, as well as twins Knox and Vivienne, 16, with Pitt. The pair married in 2014, but filed for divorce in 2016 before being declared legally single in 2019. However, Angelina and Brad are set to head to trial next year amidst a legal battle over their French vineyard. While talking to The Times about playing Callas in the Netflix movie, she also reflected on the singer's loneliness over the years.'I don't feel that because I have family,' Jolie expressed. 'Maria didn't have a family, so her work was everything. My work is not everything. Being a parent is everything.'The actress added that she is, 'grateful this film gave me a time to stop and learn and listen and appreciate.' Brad is notably estranged from his six children - with both Shiloh and Vivienne dropping the last name of Pitt. A source recently told People that his kids haven't spent 'extensive time' with the actor's own parents for over five years. The insider continued that his six children only have 'limited' contact with Brad's side of the family - but a separate source close to Jolie shared a differing viewpoint on the situation. 'Angelina has not blocked any communications or relationships; rather she encourages them to be in touch with their grandparents.''The kids send cards and gifts to their grandparents every year for their birthdays and Christmas,' the insider explained to the outlet. Earlier this month, Angelina attended the 2024 Governors Awards with son Knox as her guest. But Brad - who is amidst an ongoing divorce battle with Jolie - found it 'suspicious' that Knox made a rare public appearance with his mother on the red carpet.A source told DailyMail.com, 'Brad only gets to see his children when they walk on the carpet with their mom and the timing of this could not be any more suspicious considering it was just decided that he and Angie are headed to trial.''She is trying to get under his skin after his recent win and using Knox to do so is odd. Knox wants nothing to do with Hollywood and has no communication with Brad.'
The insider added, 'Of course, it bothers him that Angelina has turned them against him.'Jolie 'did this while they were all young and they didn’t even get a chance to make up their minds about him. He believes that, in time, his children will come back into his life.'However, a separate source stated, 'Knox chose to attend the awards with his mom, and they had a nice mother-son evening. Their decision to attend together did not have anything to do with Brad.'Elsewhere in her interview with The Sunday Times, Jolie talked about her children Maddox and Pax also helping out on the film, Maria, as production assistants. 'They were able to consider the relationships in the film and the violence - things that sometimes you don’t have the opportunity to discuss with your sons, so I felt fortunate.' And while previously speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in August, she further reflected on her kids having the chance to gain experience on set. 'Mad and Pax were on this one. Doing AD [assistant directing] work. They've done that quite a few times, and I think that's good for them,' she stated. 'Pax tends to do stills and he gets brought in, and [director] Pablo was wonderful and recognized that he was good at it.'Angelina also revealed the reason why she decided to step back in front of the camera - and explained that she didn't need to be home as much for her kids.'They're a bit older, getting more independent. I'm less needed and so able to go away for different periods of time.'She added, 'And they're old enough to join me at work. It's a new season in our lives. I'm very excited for them to be coming into their own more and more every day.'Maria was directed by Pablo Larrain - who is behind other projects such as Jackie (2016) and Spencer (2021).Along with Jolie, other stars that have been cast in the film include Pierfrancesco Favino, Alba Rohrwacher, Haluk Bilginer and Kodi Smit-McPhee.In August, the biopic first premiered during the 81st Venice International Film Festival, where it competed for the Golden Lion.
The movie had a limited theatrical release in the United States beginning on November 27 - and will drop on Netflix on December 11.The premise of the film is: 'Maria Callas, the world's greatest opera singer, lives the last days of her life in 1970s Paris, as she confronts her identity and life,' per an IMDB synopsis. In October, the official trailer for Maria was released - and quickly ignited Oscars buzz among fans.On the topic of Callas being called a diva, Angelina explained to The Times that she has the aim to change the negative perception towards the word 'diva.' 'I'm a hard worker. And a deeply feeling person. Maria is vulnerable because she feels and isn't sometimes able to protect herself from the loneliness or emotional pain.' 'Because it's part of her life and work to be extremely human and live that way. You live through your communication with the audience. For Maria and for me that has always been extremely important,' the star said. Director Pablo Larrain also took part in the interview to discuss the movie - and shared he felt the late opera singer would have garnered different treatment if she had been a man. 'She was a strong woman at a time when that wasn’t really tolerated. But this movie is also an act of respect to her - she was stoic and strong, she was betrayed but she always stood on her own two feet, trying to do her art until she couldn't.'  He also talked about wanting to bring the world of opera to a larger audience. 'Angie and I often talk about Callas's music bringing opera to more people.''Maria Callas cared about the art form but she also wanted to connect with people. So hopefully this can get rid of elitism and bring people back to opera.' Towards the end of the interview, Angelina was asked what a biopic about herself would be like - if one were ever made. 'That gets the most insane question award,' she began.'When you're a public person and you're playing her, you're conscious of how you would hate for somebody to interpret your life or think they understand your life, so we tried to be thoughtful. Let's hope there isn't one about my life.'
