Angelina Jolie is partnering with Chloe.The actress and director- who announced her own label in mid May - has teamed up with the brand to create a womenswear capsule collection. The 48-year-old Hollywood icon is working with the French luxury fashion house to create the sustainable Atelier Jolie range which has been co-designed by Angelina and Chloé's creative director Gabriela Hearst.Angelina Jolie is partnering with Chloe.The actress and director- who announced her own label in mid May - has teamed up with the brand to create a womenswear capsule collection. In a statement, Gabriela said: 'From the moment I heard about Angelina's vision for Atelier Jolie, I believed in it. It is a way to elevate others through the beauty of garment-making and her deep respect for the environment.'It's an honour for me that Chloé will be the first collaborator for Atelier Jolie, as both have high ideals for the betterment of our species. That is the reason why I love both Angelina and Chloé so deeply.' Angelina added: 'Very few luxury brands are a certified B Corp. It was important to me to work with Chloé, one of the first luxury brands to be a B Corp. It has been a privilege to design with Gabriela Hearst, and I hope all women will feel comfortable and beautiful in this capsule collection.'My earnings from this collaboration will be invested in establishing apprenticeships for tailors and artisans at Atelier Jolie.'Atelier Jolie will be available from this Autumn. In mid May she shared she is launching Atelier Jolie which will be a space for creative types in the design field.The ex-wife of Brad Pitt shared a look at her new logo over a copper background.'I'm starting something new today—a collective where everyone can create,' wrote the mother of six.'Atelier Jolie is a place for creative people to collaborate with a skilled and diverse family of expert tailors, pattern makers and artisans from around the world,' added the Eternals actress.And the former UN ambassador continued: 'It stems from my appreciation and deep respect for the many tailors and makers I've worked with over the years, a desire to make use of the high-quality vintage material and deadstock fabric already available, and also to be part of a movement to cultivate more self-expression.'Deadstock fabric refers to rolls of fabric that are left unsold by a fabric mill or leftover from a brand's production run.
Jolie ended with: 'I'm looking forward to growing this with you. More soon. Learn more at atelierjolie.com.'Her pal Priyanka Chopra added a red heart and fire emoji.On her website Jolie shared a signed note.'Fashion is an art I've had the opportunity to play with over the years. I've designed clothes and learned about shapes with many of the best tailors,' wrote the Tomb Raider star.Designers often sketch or approve designs, but it is the tailors who make the difference, she noted. And that is who she 'truly loves creating with,' said the daughter of Jon Voight.Angelina added that these makers rarely receive the credit and respect they deserve. 'I am building a place for creative people to collaborate with a skilled and diverse family of expert tailors, pattern makers and artisans from around the world. A place to have fun. To create your own designs with freedom. To discover yourself,' she enthused.She added her company will use only leftover, quality vintage material and deadstock.'You will be able to repair or upcycle pieces from your closet you wish to revive, perfecting fit, breathing new life into what could have been thrown away, and creating quality heirloom garments with personal meaning.'The red carpet darling then said: 'We hope to create a community of creativity and inspiration, regardless of socio-economic background. 'We will spotlight the people who play a part in each creation. We will bring together a diverse team, including apprenticeships for refugees and other talented, underappreciated groups, with positions of dignity based on skill.She then admitted that she is 'more of an artist than a businesswoman' before ending with: 'I hope to see you there, and to be one of the many creating with you within our new creative collective.' In late March, the Beverly Hills native filed for a global trademark under the name Atelier Jolie.A source told The Sun at the time that plans for the new company would include 'everything from custom-made jewelry to couture clothing and tailoring.'The insider added, 'She is a huge advocate for sustainable fashion and this is something the brand will have a major focus on.'The plan is still very much in its infancy but the wheels are in motion,' the source noted.
Jolie also apparently wasn't limited her new line to just clothing and jewelry, as it was said to include bedding and other household supplies. Jolie previously dipped her toes into the jewelry world with the launch of her Style of Jolie jewelry line more than a decade ago.It appears that last major release from the line was back in 2018. Although there is no indication yet of what kinds of fashion Atelier Jolie will focus on, though it's likely in good hands, as the Oscar winner has been a fashion icon going back to her buzzy red carpet appearances in the 1990s.Back in February of 2021, Jolie spoke about her fashion inspirations with British Vogue, and she revealed that she goes out of her way to repurpose older looks and to focus on timeless designs.'I invest in quality pieces, and then just wear them to death,' she said of her eye-catching wardrobe.She noted that she would find a pair of 'boots, a favorite coat, a favorite purse' and stick with those items for a considerable time.Jolie said that reusing well-made items and purchasing from vintage shops would be 'part of the way forward' to a more sustainable future.

This year, President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden hosted South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol and his wife Kim Keon-hee in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the U.S.-ROK alliance. Angelina, 47, and her eldest child, 21, were dressed to the nines for the lavish affair and had the pleasure of witnessing President Yoon belt out Don McLean's 1971 hit American Pie.Maddox - who was adopted by the actress from Cambodia in 2002 - is very familiar with South Korea after studying biochemistry at Yonsei University in Seoul. Angelina flew to South Korea to send her son off to college in August 2019.Although he 'got accepted to other universities,' Maddox ultimately decided that Yonsei was the right fit for him, as reported by PEOPLE at the time. Along with biochemistry courses, the outlet claimed that Maddox was 'studying Korean language.' But Maddox's study abroad was interrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic which forced him to trade in-person classes for online school. As a result, he returned to his family home in Los Angeles in March 2020, according to Angelina, who opened up about her son's education in an interview with Extra that year. Because his classes remained on Korea time, the Changeling star revealed that Maddox had no choice but to become a night owl. 'He had to stay back from Korea. He's going online, and so I think he starts at 6pm at night,' she told the outlet. Maddox eventually retuned to South Korea in March of 2021 after a year of remote learning. The Sun reported in 2021 that classes - specifically 'labs, studio and field study courses' - recommenced that April.Angelina previously gushed over her son's ambitious academic pursuits to PEOPLE in 2019, telling the outlet that she is 'nothing but proud' of him. She added: 'I look forward to all he will do.' It's unclear whether or not Maddox has officially completed his degree at Yonsei.

The entertainment portion of the evening consists of Broadway stars Norm Lewis, Lea Salonga and Jessica Vosk performing American musical classics. Angelina shares Maddox, as well as sons Pax, 19, Knox Léon, 14, and daughters Zahara, 18, Shiloh, 16 and Vivienne, 14, with her ex-husband Brad Pitt. Maddox, Pax and Zahara are all adopted. Maddox was adopted as an infant by Angelina in 2002 - prior to her relationship with Brad.In 2006, Brad legally adopted Maddox and his last name was changed to 'Jolie-Pitt.' Angelina and Brad, 58, split in 2016 after just two years of marriage but over a decade together. They are still in the midst of a contentious divorce and it's been alleged that a 'physical altercation' between Brad and Maddox in 2016 was the final straw for Angelina. It's also been alleged that Maddox later testified against his adoptive father as part of the former couple's ongoing divorce proceedings, which involves hashing out custody and the division of assets.

Angelina Jolie shared her new interview with Bibi Aisha - the young woman whose shocking 2010 cover on Time Magazine lifted the veil on the plight of many women in Afghanistan. The Maleficent star, 47, sat down to speak with Bibi, 30, for another Time story - which she shared to her Instagram on Tuesday - where they discussed how she overcame being horribly mutilated by her husband under Taliban rule. When Aisha was 14, her father promised her in marriage to a Taliban fighter to pay a debt. She was handed over to his family who abused her and forced her to sleep in the stable with the animals.When she attempted to flee, she was caught and her nose and ears were hacked off by her husband as punishment. 'They abused me every day. I didn’t have any rights,' Bibi told the Hollywood star, recounting how she then ran away, but was eventually sent back. She made international headlines in 2010 when she appeared on the now-iconic cover of Time magazine with a gaping wound in the center of her face where a nose should be. Bibi had since underwent 31 surgeries and told Angelina she plans on becoming a nurse so that she can 'help people.' 'This is my goal. I want to become a nurse to help people. I’ve had 31 surgeries, which means I have a lot of experience in the medical world. I want to help people who are hurting and say to them, if I could get through my darkest hours, you can.' Bibi started out the interview recalling her tragic story and how she was mutilated by her husband and other Taliban members after her failed escape attempt. 'My so-called husband came by and took me to the mountains. They tied my hands and my feet. And they cut my first ear, and then another ear and then my nose. And then he said, "We don’t care about you. We want to leave you here to die."' Despite being left for dead in the mountains, Bibi survived and was eventually brought for treatment to an American military base. 'They treated me like a family member. They saved my life. Someone in America accepted my case and said they would do my surgery.' 'I spent nine months in a shelter. I had no idea what would happen to me. And suddenly TIME magazine came to me and took my picture. They opened the door for me.' Angelina interjected: 'It caused outrage of course, because people saw what was done. And then we are now, many years after, at seeing those same people that harmed you are in charge of the country. And all that we then learned and were outraged about, we know is happening every day.' Bibi then stressed the importance of education: 'It's very important, education. My grandmother told me "Someone can take everything away from you, but one thing they can't take away from you is knowledge."' The new interview comes after Angelina's visit to Iraq. The Oscar-winning actress posted several images to her Instagram page earlier this month from the war-torn country. 'An emotional day with my friend @Nadia_Murad, who I was honored to spend the day with in Sinjar in Iraq,' began the mother of six, who had tears in her eyes in the images. The Salt star said that her Nobel Price laureate friend Nadia is doing so much through Nadia's Initiative to help the Yazidi people and other communities. The people in Sinjar are recovering after struggling through 'conflict and genocide,' noted Jolie. 'She took me to the home she grew up in Kocho village,' began the ex-wife of Brad Pitt.She added her pal took her to her old school where ISIS mil itants separated women and men before enslaving and mass murdering them. The red carpet favorite added that 'many are still missing and the fight for justice continues.' Her hashtags included one for Yazidi genocide.'
