Angelina's recent trip to Washington D.C. has been making headlines, with the actress meeting with Larry Nassar victims and an officer who defended the Capitol from rioters on January 6. The actress posted a photo of herself posing with gymnasts and Nassar abuse victims Simone Biles, Aly Raisman, McKayla Maroney, Maggie Nichols, and Jessica Howard amid a Senate hearing into the FBI's botched probe into Nassar's sexual abuse.'I was honored to meet with some of the brave US gymnasts who appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee yesterday,' Angelina began in the post's caption. 'I’m in awe of their courage and commitment to preventing future failures to investigate abuse. 'As Aly Raisman said in her testimony, "Over 100 victims could have been spared the abuse. All we needed was one adult to do the right thing." Sending support and respect to them, and to all who are reliving this trauma so that system reforms can occur. 'I was on Capitol Hill this week, engaging with Senators on the Violence Against Women Act reauthorization and FBI reforms, including better protections for abused children, non-biased forensic evidence collection, trauma care, and judicial training.' During her trip to the U.S. Capitol, Angelina took the opportunity to thank Capitol Officer Harry Dunn, who testified in Congress after he was called racial slurs and physically assaulted during the insurrection.A picture of Jolie standing next to Dunn was shared on Twitter.Dunn lost fellow officer Brian Sicknick, who suffered two strokes a day after keeping rioters from entering the Capitol and harming lawmakers.Four other officers who were on duty during the riot in January died by suicide after defending the site.Officers Gunther Hashida, Jeffrey Smith, Howard Liebengood, and Kyle deFreytag took their lives in the months after the attack.Jolie also met with Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer to talk about the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, which was signed into law by President Clinton in 1994, but lapsed in 2019.'I'm in DC leading up to the VAWA reauthorization, FBI reforms, and other important protections and rights.'I've met with experts for years now, learning about best practices including non-biased forensic evidence collection, and advocating for improvements,' Jolie said in a statement.'I'm grateful for these timely and valuable meetings with senators, especially focused on provisions for children's health,' she added.The VAWA was introduced by President Biden when he was a senator.In March, the House of Representatives passed legislation to restore itIf approved, the act would give funding to states that make dealing with sexual assault and domestic abuse a priority.Jolie reportedly asked senators to consider expanding the act to cover abuse targeted at children and 'prioritize children's health and safety in legal responses to trauma, including through judicial training and advancements in forensic evidence collection.'

Angelina worked with Weinstein while filming Playing By Heart when she was 21-years-old. During that time she said the disgraced film producer attempted to sexually assault her, but she was able to escape. 'If you get yourself out of the room, you think he attempted but didn't, right? The truth is that the attempt and the experience of the attempt is an assault,' the Gia actress said. Following the unsavory experience she noted, 'I stayed away and warned people about him. I remember telling Jonny, my first husband, who was great about it, to spread the word to other guys — don't let girls go alone with him.' After her statements, Weinstein's assistant issued a statement to TMZ on behalf of him, and said that he 'NEVER' assaulted her. 'It's very clear to me that this is for more sales on Angie's BOOK. After the Taliban took over the country in what has marked a human rights crisis threatening the freedom of its inhabitants — namely women — under Islamic fundamentalism, Jolie decided to amplify the voices of refugees. 'Right now, the people of Afghanistan are losing their ability to communicate on social media and to express themselves freely. So I've come on Instagram to share their stories and the voices of those across the globe who are fighting for their basic human rights,' her caption read in excerpt. Angelia posted a heartbreaking letter from a teenage girl who wrote about living in fear of the Taliban and her rights regressing under their rule, as she said 'we think all our dreams are gone.' Though some words of the letter were blurred out to protect her safety the letter read in excerpt:'Before Taliban came in we all went to work, school. We all had rights, we was able to defend our rights freely, but when they came, we are all afraid of them, and we think all our dreams are gone.'We think our rights have been violated, we can not get out. Studying in working is too far away.'
In the letter the teenager continued to say '...We have no rights the life of all of us is dark, we all lost our freedom and are imprisoned again.' A source explained to PEOPLE why Angelina decided to join the popular social media platform for the first time. 'Angie felt compelled to join in a moment when women and young people in Afghanistan are losing the ability to communicate on social media and express themselves freely. 'From her point of view, if she's able to be a part of the effort to amplify their voices, then she felt it was reason enough to join and use her platform.'Upon joining she gained 2.1 million new followers in under three hours, beating famed English broadcaster David Attenborough's four hours 44 minutes, and Harry Potter star Rupert Grint's four hours and one minute. As of Monday August 23 a White House official said in a statement that 10,900 people have been evacuated from Kabul on 15 military aircrafts — including American citizens and interpreters in the country as well as Afghans.'From August 23 at 3:00 AM EDT to August 23 at 3:00 PM EDT, a total of approximately 10,900 people were evacuated from Kabul. This is the result of 15 U.S. military flights (all C-17s), which carried approximately 6,660 evacuees, and 34 coalition flights, which carried 4,300 people.'The initial date for the US military to leave Afghanistan was originally set for May 1 by former President Donald Trump in a deal he signed with the Taliban. President Joe Biden announced in April that he was pushing the final date to August 31 but according to CNN, several of his advisers 'have advised against an extension, citing the security situation on the ground.'

First of all, the outlet fails to give evidence for her alleged weight loss. In the picture the tabloid provides, Jolie looks as she always has. Jolie has always cut a very slim figure, and she looks no different now than she always has. If Jolie has suffered some significant weight loss in the past few months or so, it doesn’t show.Besides, Jolie seems to be doing just fine. The actress was just spotted on a sweet mother-son dinner date with her 17-year-old son, Pax. Not to mention, the Maleficent actress looked carefree on her recent trip to Italy. She was pictured joyfully dancing on a rooftop and, later sitting down for a luxury french dinner aboard a train. While custody battles are undoubtedly tough, Jolie seems to be setting aside time to treat and take care of herself. It’s clear the outlet had no other intention for this report than to criticize Jolie’s appearance, which means none of its claims should be taken seriously.
A Worn-Out Story For The Tabloids.When are the tabloids going to drop this narrative? Magazines have been making up stories about Jolie starving herself for years now despite there being no evidence. Back in 2017, Star alleged the Tomb Raider actress weighed less than her 11-year-old daughter. Then the very same tabloid claimed Jolie had dropped to a frightening 73 pounds. Then the outlet claimed Jolie was anorexic. And the National Enquirer gave a go at the story in 2019 by claiming Jolie’s kids were begging her to eat. All of these stories were just as baseless, making us wonder when the tabloids are going to give this narrative up.

Following a stint in Paris, the actor and former British Vogue cover star nipped over to Italy with her children, where the family is staying at the picturesque city’s chic Cipriani Hotel. While she was there, Jolie made time for a ride on the opulent Venice Simplon-Orient-Express train with the French street artist JR, who also captured the Oscar-winner in a series of spontaneous portraits taken on Venice rooftops, the dome of the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute visible behind her. Jolie’s chosen look for the lo-fi shoot? Her favourite kaftan – the same one she wore in her British Vogue cover shoot at her historic six-bedroom, 10-bathroom Los Feliz estate. In addition to the Dior trench coat and Max Mara tailoring she wore in the magazine, the actor and filmmaker modelled some of her favourite vintage pieces and well-loved wardrobe staples, including a childhood dress she now wears as a top, and the simple Brunello Cucinelli kaftan she made sure to throw into her suitcase for her European jaunt.
