Angelina Jolie wants a 'quiet' 49th birthday party at home with her kids - after ex Brad Pitt was 'upset' by them dropping his name amid deepening rift

Angelina Jolie is reportedly looking to have a relaxed birthday celebration at home amid escalating tensions between her six children and her ex-husband Brad Pitt. The actress, who turned 49 on Tuesday, plans to have a 'quiet' birthday with the kids, a source close to her told People.'Angelina will celebrate her birthday with a quiet day at home with her kids. Zahara is home from college, and she looks forward to everyone spending the day together,' they said. The actress-turned-activist shares Maddox, 22; Pax, 20; Zahara, 19; Shiloh, 18; and twins Knox and Vivienne, 15, with her ex-husband Pitt, 60, whom she has been engaged with in a brutal divorce battle for years. The plans for a low-key birthday party were revealed after Shiloh became the latest of the children to drop 'Pitt' from her last name as soon as she turned 18.On Monday, the Babylon actor was set to be 'upset and aware' that Shiloh had filed to change her name.A source close to Oscar winner said his erasure from his daughter's life is just another indication that he has 'lost his children,' according to People.'He’s aware and upset that Shiloh dropped his last name,' the source claimed. 'He’s never felt more joy than when she was born. He always wanted a daughter.'Notably, Pitt was already in the process of legally adopting a daughter who had been a part of his life for months before he and his then-partner Jolie had announced she was pregnant with Shiloh in January 2006.Jolie had traveled to Ethiopia to adopted her first daughter, Zahara, in July 2005, and Pitt had come with her on the trip.He was reported to be in the process of becoming Zahara's adopted father in December 2005, a month before he and Jolie announced her pregnancy. 'The reminders that he’s lost his children, is of course not easy for Brad,' the source continued. 'He loves his children and misses them. It’s very sad.'They added that the distance between Pitt and his six children 'pains him.'
However, they noted that 'he’s still happy with Ines [de Ramon],' his girlfriend.Another source described as close to Pitt told the publication that the Tree Of Life star 'still loves all of his kids tremendously.''This whole process has been very hard for the whole family,' they added. If Shiloh's request is granted — and there is no indication that it would not be — she will subsequently go simply by 'Shiloh Jolie,' rather than her original full name, 'Shiloh Jolie-Pitt.'People previously reported that Pitt's youngest daughter Vivienne — who served as her mother Angelina Jolie's assistant when she produced the Broadways musical adaptation of The Outsiders — had listed her name as 'Vivienne Jolie' in the Playbill for the show.It is unclear if Vivienne has legally changed her name, but the minor would likely need either parental consent or extenuating circumstances to be allowed to do so before turning 18.Zahara previously introduced herself as 'Zahara Marley Jolie' when she joined the Mu Pi chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at Spelman College late last year.Pitt and Jolie's oldest sons, Maddox and Pax, have reportedly not publicly used their father's last name in years, and both have been openly antagonistic toward him.Pitt and Jolie began dating publicly shortly after he and his then-wife Jennifer Aniston announced their divorce in 2005. The Mr. And Mrs. Smith costars remained unmarried for years despite having multiple adopted and biological children together, but they got engaged in 2012 and finally tied the knot in 2014.However, it was only around two years later when the Maleficent actress filed for divorce in 2016. She and Pitt were declared legally single in 2019.However, the two A-listers have been embroiled in an ongoing divorce battle over assets and custody for years since. A central issue seems to be a notorious private jet confrontation in 2016.An FBI report on the incident, which was published in 2022, saw Jolie accuse Pitt of physical assault while flying to California in 2016. She claimed that he was intoxicated and that he grabbed her by the head and shook her, and later pushed her down, as part of a confrontation allegedly related to their children.Jolie told the FBI that Pitt told the children that she was 'f***ing up this family,' and she said he punched the ceiling of the airplane four times. She claimed that at one point he poured beer on her and a blanket she was under with multiple children. Source close to Pitt later claimed that he never hit any of the children, though they admitted that he had been drinking.

Alan joined the Reefer Madness universe when a TV movie adaptation aired in 2005, which also saw the return of Christian and Kristen. The eight-week engagement kicked off Thursday night and includes a neighboring speakeasy, The Reefer Den, for post-show festivities on the historic Walk Of Fame.Angelina and Vivienne are newly connected to the Broadway realm as they recently worked on The Outsiders musical, which has been nominated for 12 Tony Awards.Vivienne helped her mother produce the show, which based off the classic 1983 film of the same name starring Matt Dillon, Ralph Macchio, Rob Lowe and Tom Cruise. The Outsider premiered at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on April 11 but it was only recently discovered that Vivienne is listed as 'Vivienne Jolie,' instead of 'Vivienne Jolie-Pitt,' in the production's official Playbill. It remains unknown if Vivienne has legally changed her name but her big sister Shiloh, who rang in her 18th birthday just days ago, is asking that her new legal name be Shiloh Jolie, according to TMZ.Along with Vivienne and Shiloh, Angelina and Brad are also parents to Vivienne's twin brother Knox and three adopted children: Zahara, 19, Pax, 20, and Maddox, 22.According to the outlet, Zahara and Maddox also reportedly don't use Pitt as their surname, although they haven't made filings to legally change their names. Shiloh's name change request has yet to be approved due to filing the documents just days earlier on Memorial Day. Brad and Angelina began dating after he and then-wife, Jennifer Aniston, announced their divorce in 2005.The two later tied the knot in 2014, with the Maleficent actress filing for divorce in 2016 after only two years of marriage. Three years later in 2019, Brad and Angelina were declared legally single. However, the stars are still embroiled in an ongoing divorce battle and the actor reportedly has a strained relationship with this children.

Angelina Jolie shows off brand new tattoo at opening night of The Outsiders on Broadway... and it has a tie to the musical

The 48-year-old Oscar-winning actress - who was joined by two of her children - showcased a new tattoo as she attended the Broadway opening night of her musical, The Outsiders, on Thursday night after working as the executive producer. It was there where she showcased some new body art on her left forearm which had a reference to the musical adapted from the classic 1967 novel of the same name written by S.E. Hinton. Her fresh ink said 'stay gold' which is what the character Johnny tells Ponyboy as a way of reminding him to always stay true to himself. Meanwhile, Angelina said she was 'honoured' to have worked on the production, looked incredible in a metallic gold gown teamed with a rust-hued cape. Jolie is currently embroiled in a lawsuit with ex-husband Brad Pitt, 60, over their French vineyard, however she brushed off her woes to attend the event. She was joined by daughter Vivienne, 15 at the premiere. The two notably have been working together on the project due to the teenager being interested in theatre. Vivienne first saw a production of the musical in San Diego. Vivienne wore a stylish blue boiler suit for the event as she joined the cast and her mother on the red carpet. In a statement last year, Jolie said that her daughter, 'reminds me of my mother in that she isn't focused on being the center of attention but in being a support to other creatives.' 'She's very thoughtful and serious about theatre and working hard to best understand how to contribute,' the actress continued. 'I hope to be able to contribute while continuing to learn from this amazing team, who I have been working with since my daughter brought me to see the show at La Jolla Playhouse.' 'I can't begin to express how excited I am for this musical to make its Broadway debut and look forward to sharing this new adaptation of The Outsiders with the world.'
Jolie told People magazine she was 'inspired' to make the musical which is based on S.E Hinton's 1987 novel because she felt 'strongly about the material and team'.She said: 'It's been a privilege to be a part of the process. I have so much respect for Broadway and all who work within.' 'I've been in the theatre watching as the first reactions came in, including the often very emotional reaction from young people. It's very moving.' Jolie's outing comes after her legal team said Brad Pitt was physically abusive to her before their 2016 row on a plane, in newly-filed legal documents linked to the former pair's battle over their French winery. Attorneys on Thursday for Jolie filed papers in a motion in Los Angeles County Superior Court, saying that Pitt had a history of being physically aggressive with Jolie before the well-documented September 14, 2016 row during a flight from Nice, France to L.A. Pitt has denied all of the allegations of physical abuse, and was not charged amid an FBI probe into the incident; Dailymail.com has reached out to Pitt's reps for comment on the story. 'While Pitt's history of physical abuse of Jolie started well before the family's September 2016 plane trip from France to Los Angeles, this flight marked the first time he turned his physical abuse on the children as well,' Jolie's legal team said in court docs about the ongoing legal proceedings.A source close to the Maleficent actress said that Pitt declined to enter into counseling for domestic violence, and disregarded severe family problems by seeking partial custody of their six children: Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 17, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 15. 'Pitt never came to this understanding and not only sought 50-50 custodial time - including with children with whom he had not had a stable relationship in years - but also sought sole custody if the children did not sufficiently bond with him,' Jolie's lawyers told the court in legal docs.
Jolie's legal team said in their court filing Thursday that 'despite this distressing request, Jolie still did not seek sole custody' of the children. 'Instead she advocated that the children's wishes and needs be prioritized, based in part on what the children felt they could do, and for a custody plan formulated in the children's best interest to heal.' Jolie's lawyer Paul Murphy told Dailymail.com in a statement that the information released in Thursday's filing is revealing of why the Fight Club actor wanted Jolie to sign a non-disclosure agreement amid the parting.'Mr. Pitt refused to purchase Ms. Jolie's interest when she would not be silenced by his NDA,' Murphy said. 'By refusing to buy her interest but then suing her, Mr. Pitt put directly at issue why that NDA was so important to him and what he hoped it would bury: his abuse of Ms. Jolie and their family. After eight months of delays, this motion asks the Court to force Mr. Pitt to finally produce that evidence.' An insider close to the situation told Dailymail.com that the Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood actor has caused himself problems with his long-running litigation over the French winery. 'Pitt is drawing all of this out of Angelina,' the insider said. 'She does not want to be here, she does not want to be raising any of these facts, and she is doing it only because Pitt's lawsuit against her is forcing her to defend herself.' The insider described the situation as 'incredibly sad,' adding that Jolie 'just wishes' Pitt 'could move on and let her be.' By prolonging the legal battle over the winery - which the former couple purchased in 2008 for $28.4 million - Pitt has left himself more exposed to further problematic allegations that could circulate through the court system, and subsequently, to the public, the insider said. Pitt has since accused Jolie of being a 'hypocrite' due to claiming that he wanted her to sign an NDA to 'control' the actress amidst selling their French vineyard. The actor's lawyers informed the LA Superior Court on Friday that Jolie's claims regarding the NDA was simply a cover to 'rationalize' betraying Brad, per TMZ. His legal team also claimed that Angelina had asked Pitt to sign an NDA months later. Late last month in March, a source told DailyMail.com that the former couple's years-long divorce battle had been nearing the end and were in final negotiation.

Angelina Jolie put on a classy display in an all-black ensemble alongside her mini-me daughter, Vivienne, during an outing in New York City on Saturday. The Maleficent actress, 48 - who recently accused Brad Pitt of being 'physically abusive' towards her before infamous 2016 row on plane - enjoyed a shopping spree wit the teen, 15, in the Big Apple. The star sported a pair of black, loose-fitting trousers as well as a lace top underneath, which was partially concealed by a long, black coat. She slipped into a pair of black, heeled boots to complete her monochromatic look for the daytime excursion. Jolie's long locks were parted in the middle, and effortlessly flowed down straight past her shoulders. A tan-colored purse was placed on her right shoulder to hold a few items she needed while spending quality time with her daughter.
