Angelina Jolie has revealed her Maleficent co-star Elle Fanning has taught her how to be 'goofy' and has teased out a 'softness' in her.The pair star together in the upcoming Disney film Maleficent: Mistress of Evil with Angelina once again taking on the title character and Elle playing Princess Aurora. Speaking to Alison Hammond on Monday's edition of This Morning, Angelina, 44, said of her co-star: 'I’ve learned a lot with Elle, with my children I’m silly and light but sometimes in my life I’m not.'Being with her as a child brought out this lightness this softness out in me, and it continues to be our relationship where she smiles at my strength and toughness and it makes me goofy and fun.Asked why it took five years for a sequel to be released, Angelina said Elle, 21, 'had to grow up'.Elle added: 'I was 14, Angelina and I we had the first movie and she's watched me grow up and now here we are again, I’m older I feel like we have this bond which I felt I was accepted as one of the women on set.' Maleficent: Mistress of Evil takes place five years after the first film and sees Maleficent's peaceful life as the protector of the Moors takes an unexpected turn when Prince Phillip proposes to Aurora and she accepts.Phillip's mother, Queen Ingrith, plans to use the wedding to divide fairies and humans forever, leading Maleficent and Aurora to be on opposite sides of an impending war.Of the flick, Angelia said: 'If this film says anything it says embracing your differences, being your true self or if someone is shutting yourself down then shut it out.' In between filming the blockbuster, the actresses found time to relax and went paintballing together.
Angelina said: 'We like some sports. You're [Elle] just crazy with things. She was shooting people on her own team, I take it too seriously, slightly too aggressive.''She brought all her assassin knowledge,' Elle added.'We didn’t tell production, it was one of those where we don’t tell them,' Angelina said.Angelina is mother of six children, Maddox, 18, Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 13, and 11-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, who she shares with estranged husband Brad Pitt. The former couple split in 2016 and although they were declared legally single earlier this year, their marriage still hasn't been officially dissolved yet.The actress spoke candidly about wanting to focus on 'raising her children well', as she made an appearance at the Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil press conference in London last week. Discussing her goals for the future, Angelina said: 'I feel I like being an artist [is important] of course, but I’d like the other aspects of my work to take over my life a little bit more in the years ahead.'Really I just want to raise my children well, they’re all at those very special ages where you don’t want to miss a moment and just get it right before they’re out in the world on their own and having to face it.'You hope you get all the good stuff in, so that’s my main focus. But I have some other crazy ideas for future things, let’s see what happens.'

They are set to hit screens together in Maleficent: Mistress of Evil later this month. And leading ladies Angelina Jolie, 44, and Elle Fanning, 21, joined students from the Mulberry School for Girls in London to inspire them on International Day of the Girl on Friday. The stars stunned in chic cream dresses as they discussed the importance of diverse female roles, increasing pressures that social media has on young people and how every girl deserves the right to an education. Jolie and Fanning spoke to ten students who had been invited to take part in a special meet and greet which gave them the opportunity to ask the two lead actresses questions.Angelina looked relaxed in a flowing kimono-wrap dress with a gorilla print as she told the young students to 'make a big beautiful mess' on their path to success. Dazzling in a ruffled cream dress, Elle told students the importance of having a strong support system as she revealed she still lives at home with her mother and grandmother. The How to Talk to Girls at Parties star encouraged the young girls to 'find their tribe'. One student asked how women can stay safe and responsible on social media to which Fanning responded to remind the girls that social media just shows a 'plastic facade' of someone's life. She added: 'Try not to compare yourself to other people, you don't know what's going on behind their screens.' Asked what advice Jolie would give to her younger self the Lara Croft star said: 'You push yourself so much you forget to enjoy life.'Hold on to the belief that you are deserving of happiness and freedom and anything that stops you get it out of your life as quick as possible.' Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, the sequel to the 2014 hit Maleficent, is set to hit the big screen in the UK on October 18.Disney beginners may not recall Maleficent is the evil fairy in the classic 1959 animation Sleeping Beauty, and that Angelina played her in a 2014 live-action film.Just five years on, Jolie is playing her again in Mistress Of Evil, still wearing black horns, fighting fairies and sorting out her conflicted maternal feelings towards sweet Princess Aurora (Fanning). This time she has competition from the neighbouring Queen Ingrith (Michelle Pfeiffer) who causes a rift between our anti-heroine and Aurora, when her son Prince Phillip returns to the kingdom and proposes to the Princess.Unbeknownst to Aurora, Ingrith is plotting to use their marriage to divide humans and fairies forever, and it is up to Maleficent to try and stop the impending war.Chiwetel Ejiofor joins the cast as the leader of an army of fairies just like Maleficent, while Harris will replace Brenton Thwaites as Prince Phillip. The original 2014 film grossed a whopping $758million worldwide, and brought another success addition to Disney's series of dark fairy tales. International Day of the Girl was declared by the United Nations in 2012. Since then October 11 has been a day which aims to highlight and address the needs and challenges girls face, while promoting girls' empowerment and the fulfilment of their human rights.

While walking the red carpet of her new film Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Angelina Jolie revealed why she wore her iconic Versace dress to the Oscars in 2012.The 44 year old actress spoke to Extra, when she revealed that she was also wearing a black Versace dress to the Maleficent: Mistress of Evil premiere on Monday night. When Extra's Renee Bargh said she was looking for a slit, to see if she was mirroring that iconic dress, she explained why she wore that dress with the slit.'There’s a whole longer story behind that — I had a more complicated dress and I wore the more comfortable dress, which was that one,' Jolie said. She added that she, 'was just so comfortable that... I think when you feel comfortable, when you feel yourself — which is very much the theme of the film, and we know this in life — you embrace it.' 'And sometimes, maybe it appears to be a thing, I don’t know,' Jolie added of the dress. She added that the black Versace dress she wore to Monday night's premiere had, 'some panels that are see-through, so we have a secret slit, actually.'Jolie arrived to the premiere with five of her six children, Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 13, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 11.Her oldest, Maddox, 18, is currently in college in South Korea, though Jolie added he's flying to meet her in Japan. He is flying to meet me in Japan, so I am two days away from my hug. He's great, he's solid, he's fine, but I need it,' Jolie added. The actress recently said that she has recently 'discovered herself,' and when asked what she felt she re-discovered, she said she goes through stages with her kids. 'When your kids are a certain age, you go through stages, and you want to make sure they're safe and you want to make sure they understand certain values... and then you get to a place where you've done a lot of that and you feel that they're good and you also want them to know joy, and it brings back a part of you that is fun and alive and silly,' Jolie said. She added that she has it, 'in waves when they're little,' but added that, 'when they’re older, they want to know you because they need to get through life and all the hardships in life, and they need how to weather those punches.' 'And so you don’t just teach them how to survive it, you teach them how to thrive and manage it, so that takes a different level of spirit,' she concluded.Jolie's new film Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, which she co-stars in with Michelle Pfeiffer and Elle Fanning, hits theaters October 18.
