The grocery store tabloids are usually filled with speculation about everything from her weight to her love life.But while Angelina Jolie might normally be expected to skip the magazine rack, she rushed to grab a copy of one particular publication as she shopped on Sunday.The actress grinned with undisguised delight when she spotted her old friend Jane Goodall on the front cover of this month's National Geographic.She played the iconic primatologist in the 2011 movie Jane's Journey.And Angelina gave a rare public smile as she picked up a copy of the magazine and flicked through the pages while doing her grocery shopping with an assistant in Los Feliz.The copy was covered by the iconic female scientist, famed for her landmark studies of chimpanzees in the wild.A new documentary, Jane, scored by composer Philip Glass, draws from more than 100 hours of previously unseen footage filmed by Hugo van Lawick, a National Geographic filmmaker who later married Goodall.The movie also includes new interviews with Goodall. The documentary premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, where Angelina was present promoting her movie about the Cambodian genocide First They Killed My Father, now showing on Netflix, which she directed and co-wrote.Angelina, 42, wore her usual black as she shopped, with the mother-of-six filling her trolley with a selection of healthy food - vegetables, fruit, eggs and juice - carrying a handy Everlane Day Tote on her shoulder. Following her split from husband Brad Pitt last year, Angelina recently told People magazine she felt 'stronger'.The actress turned director has children Maddox, 16, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 11, and nine-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne with Brad. Speaking to People magazine, she said: 'I have had my ups and downs. I guess I am a little bit stronger.'We all have our difficult times, but as a mother you also have a responsibility first and foremost towards the kids. They are going through their formative years and everything else comes second to that.'I haven’t worked for over a year now because they needed me home. We’ve all been a bit in lockdown. I think they’re itching to get out in the world again.'The Maleficent star’s comments come after she returned to work after taking a break in 2016 when her divorce meant she was 'needed' at home to support her brood.She said: 'Right now I don't have anything to direct that I feel passionate about like this, so I'll do some acting. I've taken over a year off now, because of my family situation, to take care of my kids.'When they can have - when I feel it's time for me to go back to work, I'll be able to go back to work. I've been needed at home. I hope [to work again] in the months to come.'Asked what she'll be working on, she added: 'Maleficent [sequel], we're working on, most likely. And I look forward to having some fun with that. Cleopatra, there is a script. There's a lot of different things floating around. But I haven't committed.'

But that footage never aired.“It’s true she got testy,” one source said.Jolie only wanted to promote “First They Killed My Father,” the movie she directed about the genocide in Cambodia.“It’s hard to believe she didn’t know that question was coming,” a network veteran said. “Chang was just doing her job.”When Chang asked Jolie, 42, about her much-publicized health issues — hypertension and Bell’s palsy — Jolie was clearly annoyed.“I’m fine right now. I’m fine right now,” Jolie said. “My children are healthy. I’m healthy.” Jolie had her six children — led by her oldest, Maddox, 16, who was adopted from Cambodia — on the red carpet for the movie’s premiere, along with the child actors who appeared in her passion project.A member of Team Brad scoffed, “She uses her kids as props.” Jolie’s reps could not be reached for comment.

That's high praise from any teenager, especially after the year the family has had. Headlines have hinted at deep family drama surrounding Jolie's sudden and unexpected divorce from Pitt. Rumors even swirled at one point saying that a physical altercation between Pitt and Maddox had been the last straw for Jolie, prompting her to file her divorce papers.It's good to see the family spending time together, even sans Pitt. After all those rumors, we couldn't help but wonder what their future was going to look like. One of the webloids is attempting to create a feud between Angelina Jolie and Penelope Cruz, but the alleged drama is completely made-up. The bogus article claims Cruz is upset about the fellow actress working with her husband Javier Bardem in the upcoming Bride of Frankenstein remake, but the story is inaccurate on several levels. Gossip Cop can exclusively clear up the situation.Bardem is on board to star as Frankenstein’s monster in the second film in Universal’s “Dark Universe” franchise, which began with this summer’s The Mummy. The studio wants Jolie for the role of the monster’s bride, but she’s yet to sign on to the project. In fact, recent reports indicated the actress isn’t even in negotiations with Universal just yet. But that didn’t stop RadarOnline from concocting a story saying Cruz is unhappy about her husband’s “working relationship” with Jolie on film’s “set.” A supposed “insider” tells the site, “Penelope has never been a fan of Angelina’s, partly because of her reputation as a man-eater but also because she considers her a sanctimonious, self-obsessed bore. The idea of her working with Javier gives Penelope the creeps, big time.” The outlet then quotes a so-called “on-set mole” as saying, “There’s an expectation Angie will walk onto this set as queen bee, throwing her ego around and expecting the likes of Javier to act as her underling… He may be okay letting her walk all over him, but Penelope isn’t.” Once again, not only has shooting on the film yet to begin, but Jolie hasn’t even accepted the role yet. The webloid would know this had it bothered to do a minimal amount of research. Although the majority of the site’s story is provably untrue, Gossip Cop still checked in with a source close to the situation to see if Cruz is put off by the idea of Jolie working with her husband, and we’re exclusively assured that scenario is “false” as well.Oddly enough, this isn’t the first time Gossip Cop has had to debunk a phony story regarding Jolie’s involvement in the Bride of Frankenstein remake. We recently busted RadarOnline’s sister publication, the National Enquirer, for wrongly reporting Kristen Stewart was replacing Jolie in the title role. That article was entirely untrue and the same goes for this latest one.
