Angelina Jolie is apparently still on great terms with her second husband, actor Billy Bob Thornton.The 57-year-old Oscar winner, who was married to Jolie from 2000 to 2003, reveals to Life & Style that he was privy to her decision to undergo a double mastectomy before she opened up in that brave May 14 New York Times op-ed, "My Medical Choice." "I knew about it before the public knew," Thornton says. "She wanted me to know so I wouldn't freak out. When you're great friends with somebody like that ... you don't want to hear it on the news.".A carrier of a faulty gene that would've made her more susceptible to breast cancer, Jolie elected to have both her breasts removed in order to eliminate -- or at least greatly reduce the risk of -- the possibility of developing the disease. "Life comes with many challenges," she writes. "The ones that should not scare us are the ones we can take on and take control of." While on the red carpet for the London premiere of "World War Z," fiance Brad Pitt gushed, "I'm so proud of her. She's a badass. She's just a badass."
