It's been a pretty wild year for the Pitt-Jolie family. With Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's extremely public divorce still working its way through the system, who can blame their kids for wanting a fun night out? And that's what Jolie's two oldest sons, 13-year-old Pax and 16-year-old Maddox, were getting when they accompanied their mom to an exclusive New York party this week. Sure, all six of Jolie's kids got to come with her to the red carpet premiere of her new directorial project First They Killed My Father, but only Pax and Maddox got to go to the after-party.The three of them looked stunning in designer duds as they posed for pictures outside the venue. Maddox, who has an executive producing credit on Jolie's new film, even spoke to reporters about working with his mom, saying that she's "fun, funny, and easy to work with. She's a wonder." That's high praise from any teenager, especially after the year the family has had. Headlines have hinted at deep family drama surrounding Jolie's sudden and unexpected divorce from Pitt. Rumors even swirled at one point saying that a physical altercation between Pitt and Maddox had been the last straw for Jolie, prompting her to file her divorce papers.It's good to see the family spending time together, even sans Pitt. After all those rumors, we couldn't help but wonder what their future was going to look like. Seeing Jolie and her two oldest sons laughing and hanging out together makes it look like things might just be OK for this fam.

Angelina Jolie arrives for the Women in the World summit on Monday (September 11) in Toronto, Canada.The actress, director, and humanitarian spoke about her six children, who joined her at the Toronto Film Festival for her premieres this week.“I hope they’re being raised to see the value of diversity, the value of other people. They ask the questions we’re all asking. They see what’s happening in Syria or in Myanmar and they ask why, and we’re all trying to find the same answers,” Angelina said. “I will look for all different ways to communicate about their histories and really to teach them.” “We homeschool and I’m very very aware of their education, mostly very aware of what’s lacking. For example it’s very important to me my daughter Zahara doesn’t start learning about her history through the civil rights movement in America, that’s not how she begins to learn about herself as a young African-American,” Angelina continued. “She needs to learn about the great history of Africa and who she is…and not start with the civil rights (movement).”

But Angelina Jolie took a welcome break from her woes of late to spend time with the couple's daughters Shiloh, 11, and Vivienne, nine, and friends in Los Angeles in Sunday. The actress, 42, was seen in great spirits as she headed out for lunch, sporting a stylish floor-length tunic dress and sandals.Appearing to go make up free for the outing, Angelina hid her striking features behind a pair of sunglasses and swept her brunette tresses up into a low ponytail.She sported a black tasselled shawl over her shoulders and toted a leather handbag on one shoulder. While she was clad in an all-black ensemble, Vivienne opted for an eye-catching pair of camouflage trousers and a printed blue t-shirt. Shiloh, meanwhile, wore beige cropped cargo trousers with an over-sized navy hoodie and was seen clutching onto two drinks, as she strolled alongside her famous faced mother and their friends. Relishing the time spent with some of her brood, Angelina was seen flashing a smile as she treated the girls and their pals to ice cream following their lunch. The movie star is also mum to Vivienne's twin brother Knox, nine, as well as Maddox, 16, Pax, 13 and Zahara, 12. Their relaxed outing comes after reports surfaced earlier this month, suggesting Jolie and Pitt will not reconcile despite previous claims they were hoping to rekindle their marriage. They had announced their separation in September 2016, with TMZ insisting the actors are now 'deep' in divorce negotiations and will 'never get back together' after allegations of child abuse were made public. A source told the site: 'Both sides are hashing out both child custody and property settlements and the divorce is full steam ahead.' There was an alleged 'altercation' that involved Brad and Maddox aboard a private jet that was heading from Nice, France to Los Angeles, California, with Angelina 'kicking him out' after they had landed, according to Vanity Fair.Brad has since been cleared of any wrongdoing, but that was only after the FBI and DCFS were involved. Us Weekly, meanwhile, had claimed that the former couple have not moved forward with proceedings to end their marriage. One insider told the publication: 'The divorce is off. They haven't done anything to move it forward in several months and no one thinks they are ever going to.'The reason given for the alleged stall is Brad coming clean about his boozing in an interview with GQ this past May.A friend of Jolie told Us Weekly that the commitment to self-improvement has struck a chord with the actress, who reportedly previously claimed she would consider taking Brad back 'if he showed he was committed to raising a family.'The source went on to add that Brad had 'got sober to try and win her back' and that the move to quit drinking was 'all she ever wanted.' But her kids come easily impressed, as Angelina Jolie was spotted leaving Toys R Us on Tuesday with her three youngest.The actress treated her children to gifts from the popular toy store, as was evident by the loads of bags they lugged on their way out. Angelina was comfortable in a black dress, layered over parachute pants.The 42-year-old layered a cozy gray sweater over her ensemble, and completed her look with sandals and shades. The Los Angeles native wore her long, brunette hair down and opted for minimal make-up.Youngest children Shiloh, 11, and Knox and Vivienne, nine, were certainly present to pick out their toys. Vivienne was clad in a blue T-shirt and cargo shorts, similar to elder sister Shiloh, who wore a black hoodie and green bottoms. As for Knox, he sported an athletic top and jeans.Joining the family was a man who appeared to be their bodyguard, along with another woman and two additional kids. Not present for the outing was Brad Pitt, the estranged husband of Angelina and father of her children. It was previously reported that the former couple would be giving their relationship a try again, after filing for divorce in September of last year. But, according to TMZ, the couple still plan to split and are working out their 'child custody and property settlements.'One reason was due to Angelina's child abuse claims against Brad.

She has a net worth of around $160million.But that doesn't mean Angelina Jolie won't try hunt out a bargain a Target, as she proved on Saturday.The 42-year-old was spotted at one of the retailer's stores in Los Angeles with daughters Shiloh and Vivienne.The A-lister was fully committed the the normal mom look, rocking a large grey cardigan, black skirt and flat sandals.Shiloh, 11, wore flip flops with brown cargo shorts, a white Dallas Mavericks tee and a navy hoodie.Little sister Vivienne matched the flip flops with beige trousers and a light blue Superman T-shirt, completing the regular family illusion.The Maleficent star's visit to the shop didn't seem to be one of any urgency, since she emerged carrying zero shopping bags.Instead, the trio appeared to be there just for a browse, buying just a buying each: juice for Angelina, water for Shiloh and a store soda for Vivienne.Absent for the trip were the actresses four other children, 16-year-old Maddox, 13-year-old Pax, 12-year-old Zahara, and Vivienne's twin Knox. Also not present obviously was their dad Brad Pitt, from whom Angelina is currently divorcing.One possible reason for her trip to Target was for some lighting inspiration in the home fittings aisle, having recently run afoul of her lighting designer.On Friday, she and her estranged husband were ordered to pay Odile Soudant €565,000 ($662,000 US) after they allegedly failed to credit her work on their French home in Provence.The artist claimed the former couple drove her company towards financial ruin by failing to honor bills for a huge lighting project on the Chateau Miraval estate.Following the ruling, Brad's spokesperson released a statement to DailyMail.com: 'We respect the Court's decision resolving this long running, standard dispute regarding commercial issues and payment of invoices. This ruling does not address any copyright issues involving [lighting] designs developed by Brad.'
