Angelina Jolie dons a black face mask and gauzy white ensemble as she directs her upcoming film Without Blood on location in Italy

          Angelina Jolie was spotted on the set of her next directorial outing Without Blood on Monday.The 47-year-old actress donned a gauzy white ensemble and covered her face with a black mask as she mingled with production crew at a fortified farmhouse in Crispiano, Italy. The Academy Award winner's airy outfit was comprised of a sleeveless long top that featured a sheer-paneled collar and wide-legged pants.The brunette beauty wore her long locks tied back into a low topknot underneath a straw hat that had a black ribbon.The Mr. and Mrs. Smith star accessorized with a delicate gold necklace and a gold watch.The Eternals performer was surrounded by production staff as she walked around the grounds of the fortified farmhouse, which known as a 'masseria' in the Puglia region of Italy. She was seen standing next to an older actor who appeared to have bloody makeup on his forehead. Last week, the Hollywood Reporter confirmed that production on the movie was underway.Per THR, Angelina is writing and producing the project with filming taking place in the Puglia and Basilicata regions of southern Italy. The three-time Golden Globe winner also wrote the screenplay which is based the best-selling novel of the same name by Italian author Alessandro Baricco.Angelina's Eternals costar Salma Hayek Pinault and Mexican actor Demián Bichir are set to star in the film, which is described as 'the story of a girl's quest for revenge and healing during a time of conflict.'In a statement, the Salt star said 'I'm honored to be here in Italy to bring this very special material to film, and to have been entrusted by Alessandro Baricco with the adaptation of his book — with its unique poetry and emotion and way of looking at war, and the questions it poses about what we search for after trauma or loss or injustice.'Without Blood will be produced by Freemantle, Jolie Productions, The Apartment Pictures, a Fremantle company, and De Maio Entertainment with Freemantle handling distribution.The movie is the first project of a three-year deal that Angelina struck with Freemantle to star in and produce multiple films, TV shows and documentaries. In a statement, the Maleficent star said the 'freedom to tell important stories and bring them to a global audience' is at the heart of the deal.  She added: 'I am excited to be working with such a passionate and forward-looking team that has an international perspective.'According to Deadline, the projects handed to Jolie in the deal will be decided on a 'case-by-case basis' as she 'seeks to tell stories that are sophisticated, powerful and internationally focused, including local language projects.' Fremantle's Global CEO Jennifer Mullin said: 'Fremantle and Angelina share the passion and ambition of telling compelling stories from everywhere in the world, for everyone in the world.''We embrace and support the creative independence of our partners and look forward to working with Angelina to bring powerful and unique stories to a global audience.'
