From wild child to mother of six: A young Angelina Jolie wigs out in bizarre, never-before-seen photos as star celebrates her 40th birthday

She's just turned 40, is the mother of six children with husband Brad Pitt and has a booming career both in front of and behind the camera. But 20 years ago things were very different for Angelina Jolie, who had yet to marry either Brad or her two previous husbands and was just starting out in Hollywood. In new, never-before-seen photos, a young Angie is seen posing for some fun and flirty shots in Los Angeles taken as she geared up for the release of her breakthrough film Hackers. The unearthed images were shot by Los Angeles photographer Marcel Indik, as a young Angelina, daughter of Jon Voight, was busy with promo work for Hackers, which was released in 1995.The 20-year-old star is seen getting wild in the fun images, playing around with a short dark wig.Dressed in a shiny white trouser suit and going barefoot, the beautiful Hollywood star is instantly recognisable as she flirts with the camera. While one shot sees the actress flashing a big toothy smile, others show off the star's infamous wilder side as she messes up her wig and snarls for the camera. With smudged eye makeup and a vampy red lip colour, the rebellious actress is also seen lying upside down on a table and sticking out her tongue. The release of Hackers marked a big turning point for Angelina both professionally and personally. While the thriller failed to make a profit at the box office, Angelina was singled out for rave reviews and the film soon developed a cult following after its home release.
During filming the young actress started a relationship with her British co-star Jonny Lee Miller, with the two going on to marry in March 1996.Showing off that rebellious streak again, Angelina famously wore black rubber trousers and a white T-shirt for the wedding, upon which she had written Jonny's name in her blood. The couple separated just over a year later but have remained good friends, with the actress explaining that they were simply too young for marriage.Fast forward 20 years and Angelina is now married to Brad, with the Hollywood power couple sharing six children, Maddox, 13, Pax, 11, Zahara, 10, Shiloh, nine and six-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. Angelina recently opened up about her personal and professional successes during her 'amazing' year, which saw her mark her milestone 40th birthday on June 4. She gushed: 'It's been an amazing year. I married my love, my son [Maddox] became a teenager, and I got to bring ['Unbroken'] to the world.'I would be happy when [acting] is over. If I am lucky enough to have a career as a director, it would be a very nice transition. And then, when I can, Brad and I can work together.'

Angelina Jolie Reveals Her Favorite Star Wars Character (Nope, It's Not Princess Leia)

Angelina Jolie knows her Star Wars well.Like very well.So well that she even has a favorite character."I'm personally a Boba Fett fan," the Oscar winner says.Jolie revealed her admiration for the sci-fi bounty hunter when she interviewed her Unbroken star Domhnall Gleeson (he's in Episode VII) for the new issue of Interview magazine. When Gleeson remarked that Jolie could probably get a part in director J.J. Abrams' reboot of the iconic franchise if she really wanted one, she asked, "Can Boba Fett have a missus? Well, put in a good word for me, then."For the record, Gleeson admitted, "I was more an Indiana Jones kid than a Star Wars kid." During the twosome's chat, Gleeson turned the tables on Jolie and asked her a few questions."So were you an actor first then director?" Gleeson inquired."Yeah, well pretty much," Jolie said. "My mom always wanted me to be an actor. And I started going to theater and going on auditions young. I only realized about five years ago that I actually didn't want to be an actor." Not that she's ever really stopped acting. Not only did Jolie write and direct the upcoming By the Sea, but she and her hubby Brad Pitt star in the indie film together. It's the first time they've acted alongside each other since Mr. & Mrs. Smith.Jolie also insisted being a movie star was never important to her. "I'm a very private person," she said. "I don't go out much. I'm home with kids. I go to work. I don't really like being the focus of attention, which is why I like being behind the camera more."

Angelina Jolie Removes Ovaries & Tubes Following Cancer Scare, Is Going Through Menopause

Angelina Jolie Pitt reveals that she has gone into menopause after removing her ovaries and fallopian tubes following a cancer scare. The 39-year-old actress/director previously had a preventive double mastectomy and the next preventive surgery on the list was the removal of her ovaries and fallopian tubes. She will no longer be able to have any biological children.Angelina decided to have the surgery now after receiving a call from her doctor that her blood-test results showed something that could have been the sign of early cancer. Luckily, further tests came back with the all clear, but Angie decided to have the the surgery. “There was a small benign tumor on one ovary, but no signs of cancer in any of the tissues,” she wrote in a NY Times op-ed piece.“I chose to keep my uterus because cancer in that location is not part of my family history,” Angelina added. “It is not possible to remove all risk, and the fact is I remain prone to cancer. I will look for natural ways to strengthen my immune system. I feel feminine, and grounded in the choices I am making for myself and my family. I know my children will never have to say, ‘Mom died of ovarian cancer.’” “Regardless of the hormone replacements I’m taking, I am now in menopause. I will not be able to have any more children, and I expect some physical changes. But I feel at ease with whatever will come, not because I am strong but because this is a part of life. It is nothing to be feared.I feel deeply for women for whom this moment comes very early in life, before they have had their children. Their situation is far harder than mine. I inquired and found out that there are options for women to remove their fallopian tubes but keep their ovaries, and so retain the ability to bear children and not go into menopause. I hope they can be aware of that.It is not easy to make these decisions. But it is possible to take control and tackle head-on any health issue. You can seek advice, learn about the options and make choices that are right for you. Knowledge is power.

When I was Jolie young: 'Lost' fashion pictures taken for tiny British style magazine show Angelina reaching for the sky at the age of 18

She has become a global style icon and a Hollywood A-lister, starring in a string of action movies adored by millions of fans. But even Angelina Jolie had to start her career somewhere – and that meant modelling clothes for Debenhams and Miss Selfridge for a little-known British magazine. The long lost pictures, taken when Jolie was just 18, were published under the headline 'Honeychild' in Look in 1993. And Angelina was such an unknown that even her name was misspelled – with a 'j' replacing the 'g' in her first name in a caption.Living in Los Angeles in her late teens, Angelina signed to the Nina Blanchard agency after her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, suggested she do some modelling. In the pictures she is seen in two separate shoots: squatting on the floor of a desert, and kneeling on a beach and reaching for the sky.It is not known if she agreed with the magazine's claim that 'beige is not boring – it encourages people to open up to you.' Angelina also made her professional acting debut in 1993, playing her first leading role in the science-fiction film Cyborg 2.Three years later, she appeared in the road movie Mojave Moon, prompting the Hollywood Reporter to write: 'Jolie is an actress whom the camera truly adores.' Then came the role of Lara Croft in Tomb Raider in 2001, and it was clear that a major new star had been born.Angelina is now married to Hollywood heart-throb Brad Pitt and the couple have six children.
