Angelina Jolie proves she has best friends in Hollywood as she poses with Salma Hayek and hugs Kate Winslet

Angelina Jolie has said many times that she does not have a ton of friends in Hollywood. But that is not true. She has at least one Hollywood best friend: Salma Hayek. The two were seen catching up at the Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles on Sunday evening. The two sirens bonded when they made the superhero movie The Eternals, which came out in 2021. Jolie played Thena while Hayek was Ajak. They became so close they have spent time together off set, like at one of Hayek's birthday parties. In fact, they get along so well, Angelina cast Salma in her 2025 movie Without Blood. Jolie, who finalized her divorce from Brad Pitt last month, was also seen hugging Kate Winslet. In September, Hayek commented on how much she liked working with Angelina's kids on Without Blood  The Oscar winner, 49, hired her sons Maddox, 23, and Pax, 20,  to work on the set of Without Blood in the assistant director department. The AD department serves as a liaison between the director and other departments.  'They work hard,' star Hayek told People at the film's premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, adding that the director was 'very professional with them' on the set. 'She's demanding. They got the respect of the crew, and they were good with the crew, and they were very in their place,' the Academy Award nominee explained. 'They were not treating me like they treat me outside of there. They were very, "You have to come," and I go, "Okay!" It was kind of fun. 'They work hard. They are very serious about what they do.' The Mexican-born beauty said she had to adjust to the way she interacted with the boys on set.'It is kind of funny, I was teasing them at the beginning, but then I had to say, "No. I have to separate and just treat them like professionals because it's disrespectful,"' she explained. Pax recovered enough from his e-bike accident to join his mom of the red carpet. Maddox did not attend the festival.  Without Blood is a 'parable-like tale of family, war, and revenge' according to the TIFF synopsis. 'In a frontier landscape at the beginning of the 20th century, gunmen descend on a remote farmhouse, determined to exact revenge. Their target, a doctor — alone with his son and daughter — tries desperately to protect his children. Inevitably, bullets fly.' Hayek said there was a bit of a role reversal with Jolie during the making of the film. 'In [Eternals] I was a little bit of a mother figure to her. In this movie, I felt like she was my motherly figure because she would come to the set and run it like a family,' the actress explained.'She was a very efficient mother, but she was also there emotionally every step of the way.' Hayek's daughter, Valentina, 16, whom she shares with husband François-Henri Pinault, was on the set as well, which the doting mom said made the shoot 'feel just so comfortable and lovely.'

She is thrilled for him and has been super supportive of him through all of this.'

Angelina Jolie reveals tragic moment that nearly ended her career

Angelina Jolie recently revealed that acting became 'harder' after the death of her mother Marcheline Bertrand, who encouraged her to pursue the craft professionally. On Friday, the 49-year-old Maria actress explained to W Magazine how she and her late mother — who was just 56 when she passed away in early 2007 from breast cancer — 'were a team.'Jolie desired to make Bertrand 'happy' so she tried her hand in acting, though she revealed she does not recall 'making the choice.''I did it in the beginning because ... it was my mother's dream,' she told the outlet. She recalled how her mother pursued her own career in the industry, auditioning tirelessly for theater roles in Chicago and film gigs in Los Angeles.'But by the time my mom was 25, she was divorced with two kids and she decided she would focus her life solely on motherhood,' the Maleficent star said. By the time of her death, Bertrand had divorced Jolie's father, actor Jon Voight. The exes also shared a son, 51-year-old former actor James Haven.'She loved being being a stay-at-home mom, but she really wanted me to be an actress so I don't remember making the choice to be an actress. I remembered it made my mom happy,' she recalled.  In 1982, then six-year-old Jolie made her acting debut alongside her father in Lookin' to Get Out. And to her, pursing a career in acting meant she could help her mother pay the bills. At the time, Bertrand was her manager. 'We were a team,' the ex-wife of Brad Pitt said. 'I always wanted to buy her a house and things like that — it kind of started that way.' The actress and her mother shared an lasting bond that endured until heartbreak struck.Diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 1999 and later breast cancer, Bertrand faced a grueling battle with both illnesses. On January 27, 2007, she tragically passed away at just 56-years-old.Reflecting on her mother's death she said, 'When my mom passed, I think it it was harder for me to be an actress for while. I realized how much it was for her.'A year after her mother's passing, Jolie opened up to Vanity Fair about how her mother's devotion to motherhood became a guiding light in her own journey as a parent.'When [my mother] passed, I realized that somebody who lives life with that kind of dedication to their family is the most noble,' she shared. 'In her passing, she reminded me what matters. And what's most fun — to put yourself aside for these other little people you're raising.'Just last month, Jolie delivered a touching tribute to her late mother while accepting the Performer Tribute at the Gotham Awards for her role in Netflix's Maria. Detailing her mother’s passion for theater and literature, she explained how it influenced her own creative journey and that of her brother, Haven.'I grew up with a mother who kept books inside the oven because there were more books in our house than shelves in the apartment we had, 'she said in her speech.'It was how she solved the problem, while still making sure we were fed. But it was her priority.'Jolie shares share six children with her ex Brad Pitt — Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16.

Angelina Jolie is seen for first time since finalizing Brad Pitt divorce at Palm Springs Film Festival

Angelina Jolie was seen for the first time since finalizing her bitter divorce battle with ex Brad Pitt while attending the Palm Springs International Film Festival on Friday. The Maleficent actress, 49 - who walked away $80 million richer following her eight-year divorce from Pitt - flashed a cheerful smile as she made a grand arrival to the event for a screening of her critically acclaimed movie, Maria. Her appearance comes just days after it was revealed both she and Brad finalized their 'horrendous' divorce - although the former couple's battle of their French vineyard is still ongoing.Jolie put on a chic display wearing a cream-colored blazer that was buttoned at the front as well as a pair of matching trousers. She added a plain shirt underneath and slipped into a pair of nude-colored heels to complete the overall look.Angelina's long locks were parted to the side, and effortlessly flowed down straight past her shoulders. The star opted for minimal accessories to allow her outfit to be the main focal point, and added a pair mini earrings. While strolling outdoors, the Hollywood actress also sported a pair of black shades for a stylish flare. Jolie paused for a brief photo session on the red carpet and also sent a friendly wave towards fans that waited outside the venue. During the festivities, Angelina was also honored with the Desert Palm Achievement for Best Actress. The biographical drama, Maria - which was directed by Pablo Larrain - officially dropped on Netflix last month in December.Jolie has since garnered praise for her performance as the late opera singer, Maria Callas - and received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama. While the star has continued to pursue her passion for acting, Angelina recently opened up about one of her secret talents: flying planes.
During an interview with W Magazine published on Friday, she discussed how her son Maddox, 23, is also a pilot. Since a little child, he had an interest in planes - which had initially inspired the star to learn to fly. In December 2004, she got her piloting license and bought a Cirrus SR22-G2 single-engine plane. While talking to the outlet, Jolie admitted that she was not 'nervous' about her son flying planes. 'Maybe I just have a big family. I worry more that people aren't finding themselves and something they love,' she stated. 'I think that's more dangerous, to walk so tentatively through life that you don’t take a risk. You don't wake up with passion. I think that's scarier. I'd rather they be out there trying and failing than not pushing and being passionate.'Angelina shares Maddox, as well as Pax, 21, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16, with ex Brad Pitt. Maddox was also recently seen working on set of his mother's new film, Stitches, in Paris last month in December. It came shortly after DailyMail.com reported that he is working as the third assistant director on the movie. He notably enrolled at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea - but has since been seen stepping his foot into the film industry. Jolie is no stranger to collaborating with her children on her own projects, and recently worked with Maddox and Pax on the biopic Maria. While previously speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in August, she further reflected on her kids having the chance to gain experience on set.'Mad and Pax were on this one. Doing AD [assistant directing] work. They've done that quite a few times, and I think that's good for them,' she stated.'Pax tends to do stills and he gets brought in, and [director] Pablo was wonderful and recognized that he was good at it.'
Late last month before New Year's Eve, it was revealed that Angelina and Brad had reached a divorce settlement following a lengthy, eight-year battle. The actress's lawyer told DailyMail.com that she is 'relieved this one part is over. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted.''More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family.' Another insider shared that Jolie has 'been trying hard to be light after a dark time' and 'doesn't speak ill of him publicly or privately.''The kids have grown up seeing that some people have so much power and privilege that their voices don't matter. Their pain doesn't count.''They have wanted her to speak up for herself, to defend herself over these years but she reminds them to focus on changing laws over telling public stories,' the source continued. Other insiders also revealed to MailOnline the main reason Pitt wanted to reach a settlement and finalize his divorce from Angelina.  Brad has since moved on with Ines de Ramon - whom he began dating back in 2022.'They are looking to get married in the next year and Brad has settled because he wants to keep his children on side for his new marriage to go ahead,' a source said on New Year's Eve. 'Apparently Ines is keen to have children too and pressured him to get it all sorted out as soon as possible.' 'Brad will be relieved that he can finally move on and marry again. He has wanted his divorce settled long before now but he believes Angelina has been dragging her feet,' another source shared. 'Angelina will argue she has been fighting for the best deal for their family, but whatever the truth, it ultimately clears the path for him walking down the aisle with Ines.'
The insider continued, 'He will hope that he can build bridges with his children now that the divorce is finalized, but that looks like a long hard road.' On Angelina's side, she is 'hoping Brad Pitt will stop attacking her' after the 'horrendous' divorce battle. A source told People late last month, 'Angelina hopes the finalization of their divorce will enable him to move on, stop attacking her, and instead help heal their family.' 'Brad has successfully used his power and his privilege to cover up his conduct at his family’s expense, to punish Angelina for leaving, and even to attempt to paint her as the reason why his relationship is so challenging with the children.' Another insider also informed the outlet that, 'These last eight years have been such a horrendous time for her and her family.' But a separate source close to Brad shared, 'Jolie has engaged in one-sided attacks for the past eight years, including a never-ending distortion of facts.''And projecting their own behavior onto others, causing tremendous collateral damage to those in and around the family.'Following the divorce settlement, both Brad and Ines de Ramon had the chance to celebrate by enjoying a winter getaway to Carmel, California. A source told People that the actor 'loves it up there' and added that, 'It's very private for them.' Ines had reportedly 'influenced' Pitt to take the step to finalize the divorce from Angelina - following their split in 2016.

Angelina Jolie does last-minute Christmas shopping at crafts store in chic trench coat

Angelina Jolie shocked shoppers at Blick Art Supplies in Hollywood when she was spotted shopping there this weekend. The Maria star, 49, also hit up once-trendy Melrose Avenue to go to a vintage T-shirt store. Jolie looked radiant in a tan Christian Dior trench coat with a bit of her beige dress peeking out from underneath. She paired the classic look with brown, pointy-toed pumps and sunglasses as she left her highlighted hair down and straight. The Maleficent actress smiled and was left to herself by respectful shoppers as she browsed. As Jolie receives accolades and award nominations for her role as Maria Callas in her latest film, she revealed how it is the first job she's been able to give her all to in several years. In a Vanity Fair interview, She talked about Maria and the on going stresses that made her go 'very dark' and led to years of a hiatus from acting, which appeared to coincide with her messy and on-going divorce from Brad Pitt. 'I went very dark for reasons I’d rather not explain, but I didn’t have a lot of light and life within me. Your lights dim. I also just needed to be home more, so I couldn’t commit large periods of time to pieces,' she told the outlet. 'The choice of what to work on and when was not a creative choice, often, the last few years, but sometimes the practical choice,' she continued. 'Really, I think Maria was the beginning of starting to come alive again. 'I needed a lot of kind people around me to hold my hand,' Jolie explained, adding, 'We’ve all been with terrible people in our life, where it’s hard to do your work because you feel emotionally vulnerable and then you feel like it’s being used in the wrong way.' The Oscar winner has been through a lot in the last eight years of her very public and publicized split from Pitt. 'Brangelina' became a couple in 2006 and tied the knot in 2014, before their shock split in 2016, which triggered a bitter feud in the courts over child custody and their property. The former couple share three biological children — Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16 — as well as their adopted children Maddox, 23; Pax, 21; and Zahara, 19. Since their parents' bitter split, Zahara, Shiloh and Vivienne have all dropped Pitt as their last name. It has been reported that Maddox and Pax do not talk to their father - while it is believed that Knox and Vivienne still confer with the Fight Club star. The star's latest emotional revelation comes just days after she opened up about feeling lonely. 'I have my children I love but as an adult I'm often alone, I find myself identifying with the solitude and loneliness she has,' she told The Sun, referring to Maria Callas. 'I also haven't quite figured out how to live life in a way where I'm on my own, maybe a lot of artists feel that we're in an open space as a person.' The former A-List couple — who split eight years ago with Angelina accusing Pitt of abuse — are in the midst of an acrimonious legal battle for their French vineyard. Jolie recently scored a major legal victory against Pitt after a judge ruled that he must hand over documents and communications which could prove he was abusive towards the actress and their children. The ongoing dispute has seen the feuding exes attack each other in legal filings ever since Pitt sued Jolie in 2022 for selling her stake in their Chateau Miraval estate, which produces an award-winning sparkling rosé. Angelina's next project is the independent film Stitches, for which she is taking on the challenge of learning to speak French fluently, as the film is being shot in both English and French. As Jolie receives accolades and award nominations for her role as Maria Callas in her latest film, she reveals how it is the first job she's been able to give her all to in several years. She plays Maxine in the upcoming movie about Fashion Week. Jolie's mother Marcheline Bertrand was of French Canadian descent and may have taught her daughter conversational French, though it is not clear how well she spoke it. Stitches is currently filming in Paris and is scheduled for release at some point in 2025. The film is being directed by Alice Winocour, and plot details are being kept under wraps.
