Maleficent earned an impressive $758 million at the box office, but Mistress of Evil suffered a steep drop to end up with $491 million in the coffers, which is hardly an insignificant sum to be fair.A new rumor from Giant Freakin Robot offers that Jolie is set to return for a third installment, and even though the news is labeled as being an “exclusive” from “trusted and proven sources”, the report offers less information than was already made public this summer. It was revealed in July of this year that another Maleficent was in the works, with the first draft of the script having already been written by Linda Woolverton and Evan Spiliotopoulos, so this isn’t anything we didn’t already know.

On Friday, the 46-year-old actress shared rare photos of daughters Zahara, 16, and Shiloh, 15, doing their summer reading with her 10.2million followers. Angelina — who shares all six of her children with ex Brad Pitt — recently confessed that she feared for the 'safety' of her kids throughout the course of their marriage.The Maleficent actress posted a snap of adopted daughter Zahara reading The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison, and another of Shiloh reading The Dark Lady by Akala. 'End of #summerreading. These are some of the favorites in our house. Would love to know yours,' she wrote. She had spoken to HELLO! about the challenges of homeschooling amid the Coronavirus pandemic. 'I have four different schools going on with six different kids, so it's all different. I'm also terrible with math and I question history, so I'm a really challenged parent when it comes to a lot of this stuff.'Fortunately, I have very capable, smart children. They are getting through, but it's hard,' she added. My whole family,' she said. When the outlet asked her to explain what caused her to fear for their safety she said that she 'can't speak about' it because of her legal situation. It was added that she 'confirmed by nodding that she was alluding to her divorce and the allegations of domestic abuse she made against Pitt.'One particular report of abuse was that Pitt had gotten into an alcohol-fueled violent screaming match with Jolie, prompting Maddox, 19, to defend his mother. In the interview she called the situation 'horrific' but said: 'It doesn't start with the violation [the plane incident]. It's so much more complicated than that.' The Girl Interrupted star added: 'It took a lot for me to be in a position where I felt I had to separate from the father of my children,' adding: 'There's a lot I can't say.'Angelina filed to absolve their marriage in 2016 after two years, and said in a June 2020 interview with Vogue India that it was for 'the well-being of my family,' adding 'it was the right decision.' Jolie was granted temporary custody over all six children and Brad was granted visitation rights with a court-appointed therapist present.In 2018, a court ruled in favor of Brad after he alleged that Angelina was preventing the children from having a consistent relationship with him. He was given a temporary summer custody that allowed him to spend time with the kids without Jolie present.She then alleged that summer that he had not been paying 'meaningful' child support for over a year, with Pitt retorting that he had loaned Angelina $8M and given an additional $1.8M to help with bills. The custody trial was supposed to begin in November 2018 but the two reached an agreement instead, as it was in the best interest of the children and eliminated the need for a trial.The pair were ruled 'legally single' in April 2020 but the status did not finalize the custody battle, as Brad continued to seek joint custody — which he finally got in May 2021. However, in July, Judge John W. Ouderkirk — the private judge overseeing both the divorce and custody case independently — was disqualified after it was said he had not sufficiently disclosed financial relationships with Pitt's attorneys.The ruling vacated all of Ouderkirk's decisions — including the joint custody ruling — which means Angelina retains full-time custody at this time. As Maddox is not a minor the decision does not apply to him. Pitt is now going to the California Supreme Court to request a review of the California appellate court's ruling to disqualify the private judge. Jolie's attorney Robert Olson told ET on September 1, that the petition to the California Supreme Court 'displays how they are clinging to this private judge who exhibited bias and refused statutorily required evidence.'Her camp called it 'disturbing' that he would 'seek to reinstate the private judge' who exhibited 'unethical behavior' and said: 'Ms. Jolie hopes Mr. Pitt will instead join with her in focusing on the children's needs, voices, and healing.' Brad's attorney Theodore J. Boutrous stated that their decision to go to the Supreme Court was due to the fact that the judge was 'improperly disqualified after providing a detailed, fact-based custodial decision, following a lengthy legal process with multiple witnesses and experts.' His camp added that the ruling caused 'irreparable harm to both the children and families' involved in the case and said that 'allowing this kind of crafty litigation' deprives parents of 'irreplaceable time with their children as judges are disqualified for minor reasons in the midst of their cases.'

Angelina Jolie has revealed new details about her relationship with Brad Pitt, telling The Guardian that they fought about Pitt's decision to work with Harvey Weinstein.Jolie said 'it hurt' to see her then-partner work with the disgraced producer after she claims she narrowly escaped being assaulted by him when they worked together in the late 90s. The 46-year-old Maleficent actress was married to the 57-year-old Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor from 2014-2016, but they were together for over ten years. Angelina worked with Weinstein while filming Playing By Heart when she was 21-years-old. During that time she said the disgraced film producer attempted to sexually assault her, but she was able to escape. 'If you get yourself out of the room, you think he attempted but didn't, right? The truth is that the attempt and the experience of the attempt is an assault,' the Gia actress said. Following the unsavory experience she noted, 'I stayed away and warned people about him. I remember telling Jonny, my first husband, who was great about it, to spread the word to other guys — don't let girls go alone with him.' After her statements, Weinstein's assistant issued a statement to TMZ on behalf of him, and said that he 'NEVER' assaulted her. 'It's very clear to me that this is for more sales on Angie's BOOK. On Monday the 46-year-old actress stepped out in Beverly Hills wearing a chic black dress and stilettos as she got into an SUV. Over the weekend the Girl, Interrupted star became the fastest user to gain 1M followers on the social media platform with a heartbreaking letter from a girl in Afghanistan. Her current follower count now stands at a whopping 8.8M in just three days. Jolie looked effortlessly chic in a flowing black long sleeve dress with a high neck that fell below her ankles and a pair of nude pumps. She looked to be in good spirits as she flashed a wave while wearing a black face covering, and carried a bag of takeout in hand. The striking beauty wore her brown tresses down and looked to be wearing a bit of eye makeup for the outing. And she was was joined by her daughter Zahara, 16, and her usual body guard as they were seen emerging from an office building before they left in a black SUV. Over the weekend, Angelina decided to use her star power for a good cause as she joined Instagram for the first time to spread awareness about the situation in Afghanistan. After the Taliban took over the country in what has marked a human rights crisis threatening the freedom of its inhabitants — namely women — under Islamic fundamentalism, Jolie decided to amplify the voices of refugees. 'Right now, the people of Afghanistan are losing their ability to communicate on social media and to express themselves freely. So I've come on Instagram to share their stories and the voices of those across the globe who are fighting for their basic human rights,' her caption read in excerpt. Angelia posted a heartbreaking letter from a teenage girl who wrote about living in fear of the Taliban and her rights regressing under their rule, as she said 'we think all our dreams are gone.' Though some words of the letter were blurred out to protect her safety the letter read in excerpt:'Before Taliban came in we all went to work, school. We all had rights, we was able to defend our rights freely, but when they came, we are all afraid of them, and we think all our dreams are gone.'We think our rights have been violated, we can not get out. Studying in working is too far away.'
In the letter the teenager continued to say '...We have no rights the life of all of us is dark, we all lost our freedom and are imprisoned again.' A source explained to PEOPLE why Angelina decided to join the popular social media platform for the first time. 'Angie felt compelled to join in a moment when women and young people in Afghanistan are losing the ability to communicate on social media and express themselves freely. 'From her point of view, if she's able to be a part of the effort to amplify their voices, then she felt it was reason enough to join and use her platform.'Upon joining she gained 2.1 million new followers in under three hours, beating famed English broadcaster David Attenborough's four hours 44 minutes, and Harry Potter star Rupert Grint's four hours and one minute. As of Monday August 23 a White House official said in a statement that 10,900 people have been evacuated from Kabul on 15 military aircrafts — including American citizens and interpreters in the country as well as Afghans.'From August 23 at 3:00 AM EDT to August 23 at 3:00 PM EDT, a total of approximately 10,900 people were evacuated from Kabul. This is the result of 15 U.S. military flights (all C-17s), which carried approximately 6,660 evacuees, and 34 coalition flights, which carried 4,300 people.'The initial date for the US military to leave Afghanistan was originally set for May 1 by former President Donald Trump in a deal he signed with the Taliban. President Joe Biden announced in April that he was pushing the final date to August 31 but according to CNN, several of his advisers 'have advised against an extension, citing the security situation on the ground.'
