Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s French wine sells out — again

Last year, a major Hollywood power couple’s first vintage of French rosé sold out in five hours and landed them on Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines — No. 84 — and the only rosé to make the list. Well, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have done it again. The 2013 Jolie-Pitt & Perrin Cotes de Provence Rosé Miraval — Brangelina rosé — went on sale earlier this month and promptly sold out. There are rumors that the wine will be available for $20 in select wine shops later this month, but at press time, we were unable to confirm. According to Spectator, the Miraval bottling, made with the Perrin family of Château de Beaucastel, is pretty much the most anticipated release of a rosé ever. The wine is a blend of cinsault, grenache, syrah and white grape rolle (vermentino). Last year, Perrin & Fils general manager Marc Perrin told Spectator that Pitt and Jolie participated in the blending sessions for the first wine and helped design the label and bottle. The château, which sits on 1,000 acres, is where Pink Floyd recorded the famed rock opera “The Wall” in 1979. Pitt and Jolie purchased the 35-room estate for an estimated $60 million in 2012.

Alfonso Cuaron Explains Why Robert Downey Jr. & Angelina Jolie Weren't Cast In 'Gravity'

The long, long journey for Alfonso Cuaron's "Gravity" wasn't solely dedicated to the effects heavy technical production. Before cameras rolled, the filmmaker went through an arduous process to nail down his leading actors. Way back in the spring of 2010, Robert Downey Jr. and Angelina Jolie were tentatively slated to lead the sci-fi thriller, but by the fall the actress had pulled out, setting off an arms race for the vacant role. Natalie Portman, Marion Cotillard, Carey Mulligan, Abbie Cornish, Rebecca Hall, Olivia Wilde and Blake Lively were all mentioned/considered for the part before Sandra Bullock signed on, withGeorge Clooney joining the project at the end of 2010, replacing RDJ who had also exited. The rest is history, but what happened to the original duo? Cuaron, who recently sat down with THR's Stephen Galloway, provided some info on the departure. "I thought I had written a small movie ... just one character floating in space," Cuaron explained. "We started developing stuff [trying] to figure out the technology. And the luxury [was] that we could try many things. And part of that was conversations with actors. I had conversations with Angelina, but then she went to do one film, and then she was going to direct ['Unbroken']. Something happens, you part ways." As for RDJ, Cuaron didn't want to pen the energy of the actor into a film that wouldn't utilize his talents. "It became very clear that, as we started to nail the technology, or narrow the technology, that was going to be a big obstacle for his performance. I think Robert is fantastic if you give him the freedom to completely breathe and improvise and change stuff. [But] we tried one of these technologies and it was not compatible," Cuaron said. "And, after that, we [had a] week that we pretended as if nothing was happening and then we talked and said, 'This is not going to work. This is tough.'"

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt make their way through the LAX Airport exit after landing back in town on Monday afternoon (February 17) in Los Angeles.The 38-year-old actress and the 50-year-old actor were joined by their 12-year-old son Maddox and three security guards.Angie, Brad, and Maddox were all in London over the weekend where the hot couple attended the 2014 BAFTAs to support his movie 12 Years a Slave, which picked up a few awards including Best Film.After the awards show, Brad and Angelina continued the celebration at The Weinstein Company‘s after party where they met up with British singer Tinie Tempah and several other guests.FYI: Brad is wearing a Salvatore Ferragamo leather jacket.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt make their entrance into the Entertainment One BAFTAs After Party hosted by Grey Goose on Sunday evening (February 16) at The London Edition Hotel in London, England.The engaged couple was joined at the party by his 12 Years a Slave co-star Lupita Nyong’o and director Steve McQueen. They also mingled with British singer Tinie Tempah and sat next to him in a booth at the party.Earlier in the night, Brad hit the stage at the awards show to accept the prize for Best Film for his role as a producer on the movie.
