Angelina Jolie has been sporting a new accessory in the past few months. It is the same kind of thing that Jennifer Lopez has been wearing for decades to achieve her Jenny From The Block look. Can you guess what it is? Angelina Jolie put on a chic display as she joined her son, Pax, for a lowkey outing in New York City on Tuesday. The Maleficent actress, 49 - who recently went Instagram official with British rapper 'boyfriend' Akala - strolled alongside her 20-year-old son before grabbing lunch at Rubirosa in Soho. The pair's outing comes nearly three months after Pax's horrific e-bike accident that took place in Los Angeles on July 29 - and resulted in him suffering from 'complex trauma.' Jolie showed off her early fall style in a long, black coat as well as a black ensemble underneath. She slipped into a pair of closed-toed, black pumps and easily carried a black purse with a gold-chained strap over her left shoulder. Angelina's long locks were parted in the middle, and fell down straight past her shoulders. The star opted for minimal accessories and added a pair of dainty earrings as well as a pair of brown shades for a finishing touch.Pax could be seen next to his mother as they made their way towards the restaurant and sported a gray coat that was left unbuttoned at the front. He donned a plain white shirt as well as dark pants and white sneakers to stay comfortable during the daytime excursion. To complete his overall look, Pax added a fuzzy brown cap on top of his head - after revealing forehead scars on the TIFF red carpet last month following his accident. The incident occurred in late July in the Los Feliz neighborhood in L.A. around 5p.m. during rush hour when he crashed into a car while on his e-bike. At the time, he was not wearing a helmet and regained consciousness after paramedics had arrived to the scene. The crash took place near Angelina's home - and the actress rushed to the hospital to be by her son's side. However, Pax has previously been involved in past accidents prior to the July incident - and it was reported two months before, he 'totaled' his Tesla. A source alleged to Page Six, 'His friends are concerned about him. He's being reckless. They're worried.''He has had a string of car crashes. It's not great. Pax is a troubled kid, and Angelina is doing her best to help him.'
Following the crash, a source informed DailyMail.com that Angelina 'had a top plastic surgeon' look at Pax's facial injury. 'Angie wanted to make sure Pax did not have a terrible scar on his face so she asked a top plastic surgeon in Los Angeles to look at him and take care of it.' The insider added, 'She is a very hands on mother and does whatever she can for her kids. She made the call herself and was there during the consultation.' Back in August, Pax was released from the ICU with a separate source telling People, 'He suffered complex trauma, and now begins the long road of recovery and physical therapy.' The insider added that both Angelina and her son 'are deeply grateful for the quick and life-saving action of first responders, and the outstanding medical care he received.' Along with attending TIFF with his mother, Pax recently joined Angelia once again on the red carpet over the weekend at the screening of her latest film, Maria. Pax's two other siblings also dressed to impress during the premiere, including Zahara, 19, and Maddox, 22. Angelia is mother to Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16 - whom she shares with ex Brad Pitt. She also adopted Pax, Zahara and Maddox during their relationship. Maria - which is a biopic based on singer Maria Callas - is slated to officially release on Netflix later this year on December 11. The premise of the film, directed by Pablo Larrain, follows, 'the life story of the world's greatest opera singer, Maria Callas, during her final days in 1970s Paris,' per the official IMDB synopsis. According to Deadline, Jolie recently opened up about taking on the role and expressed, 'this kind of work is not asked of me very often.' 'And if it's asked of me, it's not often with this kind of material and this director, so these things come once in a Iifetime.'
Angelina has been keeping busy, and recently posted a photo to the Instagram page for her company called Atelier Jolie. In an image, her rumored boyfriend and political activist, Akala, could be seen - with the actress seemingly going official with the British-born rapper. He also notably joined Angelina at the screening of her movie, Maria, during the 62nd New York Film Festival over the past weekend. And also on Tuesday, Jolie was spotted stepping out once again in the Big Apple wearing the same, all-black outfit from earlier in the day. She held a small smile on her face as she left her hotel in NYC before heading to the DGA Theater for another screening of her film, Maria. The beauty was later seen arriving to the theater as she stepped out of a sleek, black SUV. Angelina sent a friendly wave towards awaiting fans nearby while also flashing a cheerful grin.

Newman is his business partner and manager. Yet Jolie and Akala do share a strong bond, with a second source stating: 'They share the same passion when it comes to social and humanitarian causes.'They did several collabs over the years that focus on global issues like human rights. Angie speaks very highly of him.'People's source claimed Jolie is 'currently single and not dating seriously'.MailOnline has contacted Jolie's representatives for comment. Akala - born Kingslee James McLean Daley - started out as a rapper before moving into political activism, endorsing former Labour MP Jeremy Corbyn in the 2017 UK general election. His older sister is also the famous singer and rapper Ms. Dynamite. Ms. Dynamite, 43 - real name Niomi Arleen McLean-Daley - enjoyed a string of hits in the early 2000s with her debut album A Little Deeper, which won the prestigious Mercury Music Prize.
Akala is reportedly in a relationship with Chanelle Newman who is co-founder and executive producer of Akala's music and the Hip-hop Shakespeare Company. Angelina Jolie cut a typically chic figure as she stepped out in New York following a Q&A about her new film Maria, where she revealed she planned to 'pretend' to sing opera when she first signed for the film. The actress, 47, wrapped up in a sleek black, longline coat, which was worn over a champagne coloured satin dress. Angelina accessorised her look with a pair of trendy shades, gold jewellery and boosted her height with pointed nude heels.Opting for understated glamour, the Mr and Mrs Black star opted for a simple, dewy make-up look while her sleek caramel tresses were left to cascade down her back. Angelina offered a wave and a small smile as she stepped outside and climbed into a waiting car.The stunner had been discussing her latest film Maria, in which she plays the late famed opera singer. During a post-screening Q&A following the film's premiere at New York's Film Festival, Angelina revealed that she initially planned to 'pretend' to sing opera to 'get through' the film, before eventually going on to have seven months worth of training. According to USA Today, Angelina said of first signing to play the soprano: 'I thought, "Oh, I'll pretend-sing and I'll get through this". 'Then it was very clear to me that you can't pretend opera, and then I was scared.' She then spoke of her admiration for Maria's strength: 'When I see someone who's so full of self-pity or giving up, it doesn't move me in the same way. She would try to pull herself together and move forward. I wanted this to be about what an extraordinary artist she was – she was a fighter and a deeply feeling, emotional person.' The first trailer for Maria dropped last month. The film opens in the last days of the soprano's life and looks back on all the triumphs and tragedies along the way. Callas died of a heart attack at her Paris home on September 16, 1977. She was 53.
Angelina said that roles like Callas come along 'once in a lifetime,' adding, 'I mean, it’s certainly the most challenging,' Deadline reported. To portray the opera singer, Jolie spent seven months learning six of the late singer's most famous arias. At the Venice Film Festival photocall in August, Angelina, when asked what her musical tastes were, said: 'I was more of a punk and I loved all music but I probably listened to The Clash more than most. 'As I have gotten older I have listened to classical music and opera. I think I still love the music I did when I was younger, I would still listen to The Clash.'But I think when you have felt a certain level of despair, of pain, of love at a certain point there are only certain sounds that can match that feeling and to me the immensity of the feeling encapsulated in the sounds of opera - there is nothing like it. 'That feeling that would move all of us if we were to hear it would be the only sound that would explain that pain, so I have leant more towards it now.' Angelina's latest outing was without her close friend Akala, 40, whom she's been linked to recently. In recent months, Angelina sparked romance rumours with British rapper Akala after the pair were seen emerging from her hotel in Italy during Venice Film Festival. However, sources confirmed that the couple are not an item, with an insider telling that Angelina 'is friends with him and his partner, Chanelle [Newman] who was also there'. In the wake of her bitter split from Brad Pitt, Angelina grew close with the rapper and political activist. Yet the pair do share a strong bond, with a second source stating: 'They share the same passion when it comes to social and humanitarian causes. 'They did several collabs over the years that focus on global issues like human rights. Angie speaks very highly of him.' It had been claimed by In Touch that the actress had been privately seeing the musician for 'more than a year'. However, People's source claimed Angelina is 'currently single and not dating seriously'.MailOnline contacted Angelina's representatives for comment at the time.

Angelina Jolie looked on proudly as her close friend Akala and son Pax shared a sweet embrace at Maria premiere in New York on Sunday night. The actress, 49, attended the premiere of her new film Maria with her sons Pax, 20,and Maddox, 23, and daughter Zahara, 19, during the 62nd New York Film Festival. And shortly after the star-studded night, Angelina was overcome with joy as she watched Akala, 40, and Pax hug.In recent months, Angelina sparked romance rumours with British rapper Akala after the pair were seen emerging from her hotel in Italy during Venice Film Festival. However, sources confirmed that the couple are not an item, with an insider telling that Angelina 'is friends with him and his partner, Chanelle [Newman] who was also there'.In the wake of her bitter split from Brad Pitt, Angelina grew close with the rapper and political activist. However, People's source claimed Angelina is 'currently single and not dating seriously'. MailOnline contacted Angelina's representatives for comment at the time. It seems Angelina's children are also fond of the rapper following Pax's encounter with him at the premiere. Pax appeared in great spirits following the horrific e-bike accident he was involved in this past July, which landed him in the hospital. The actress wowed in an elegant white dress with a pleated skirt, which she paired with peep-toe black heels.
Her daughter Zahara matched her in a silk white dress. Maddox rocked a classic black suit, while Pax sported a grey one, as well as a black wrist brace.Missing from action were her three younger kids, Shiloh, 18, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 16, whom she shares with ex-husband Brad Pitt, 60. The pair have been involved in a bitter ongoing divorce battle since their split in 2016. Angelina's sons also worked in the AD department on the set of Maria — directed by Pablo Larraín — and she admitted the work is good for them. She told The Hollywood Reporter: 'They've done that quite a few times, and I think that's good for them. Pax tends to do stills and he gets brought in, and Pablo was wonderful and recognized that he was good at it'. The actress was also grateful to have her sons around to support her because playing opera start Maria Callas was so emotionally exhausting. She added: 'It really meant a lot that my boys were with me on Maria. When I would have really heavy times, they would come over and just give me a hug or a cup of tea.' 'That was probably one of the more intense things was that - usually when I'm expressing that much pain, it's not in front of my children. You really try to hide from your children how much pain and sadness you carry.' 'And so for them to be with you when you're expressing it at such a level, I think it was the first time they ever heard me cry like that. That's usually for the shower.' The first trailer for Maria dropped last week. The film opens in the last days of the soprano's life and looks back on all the triumphs and tragedies along the way. Callas died of a heart attack at her Paris home on September 16, 1977. She was 53.
