Angelina Jolie adopted her first daughter, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, in Ethiopia in July of 2005 when she was just 6-months-old. Now, 12 years later, Zahara's biological mother is asking to reconnect with her daughter. Mentewab Dawit Lebiso spoke to the DailyMail and explained that she's hoping to be a part of Zahara's life. "I just want her to know that I am alive and here and long to be able to speak with her," Lebiso said. "I do not want my daughter back but just to be in contact with her and be able to call her up and talk with her."Though Lebiso is not too proud to admit that Jolie has give her daughter an incredible life, that hasn't helped the longing to have a relationship with her child."Angelina has been more of a mother to her than I have ever been," she said. "She has been with her since she was a baby, but that does not mean I do not miss her. I miss her all the time. I think about her every day and long to hear her voice or see her face. I know when she has a birthday, but I am sad because I can't celebrate it with her. I would so much want to celebrate with her on her birthday and other special days." She continued, "I would like Zahara to know she has a mother who loves her as much as Angelina. I know her life is with Angelina is in another country and she speaks another language than me. She has a life that I could never give her, but I would still like to have some contact. I would like to see her face. She has grown into a beautiful woman, and I am so proud of her. My heart bursts because I am so proud." elivering her final plea to reach Jolie, Lebiso concluded, "We all die sometime and before I die I would like her to know about me and that she has family here in Ethiopia. I would ask Angelina to let me speak with her. I do not think it is too much to ask."Lebiso's plea comes in the middle of Jolie and Brad Pitt's divorce and custody battle over Zahara, 12, and their other five children, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 15, Pax Jolie-Pitt, 13, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, 10, Knox Jolie-Pitt, 8, and Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, 8.Though the famous exes currently have a voluntary temporary custody agreement in place—granting him supervised visitation rights as Jolie maintains primary physical custody—they're still working out the official custody arrangement, which has become a very public matter. After Jolie filed for divorce, federal and local authorities investigated allegations that the actor was abusive toward Maddox on a private flight. Pitt was later cleared of any wrongdoing. They were due back in court on Tuesday, but E! News learned the scheduled date was taken off the calendar.Meanwhile, last week, Pitt and Jolie released their first joint statement together since their divorce news, explaining that they'd be moving forward in a private forum."The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues," their statement read. "The parents are committed to act as a united front to effectuate recovery and reunification."

She’s got dad’s support. Jon Voight spoke exclusively with Us Weekly, saying that he is “rooting” for his daughter, Angelina Jolie, her estranged husband, Brad Pitt, and their six children even though the pair split last year.“It’s a difficult time, and I don't like to talk about it, but of course, I'm thankful for everybody's good wishes and prayers,” the 78-year-old actor told Us at the Hallmark party at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour in Pasadena, California, on Saturday, January 14. “And I hope things work out.” Asked about Jolie, 41, and Pitt’s custody agreement, Voight told Us that he is remaining hopeful about the future of the former couple’s relationship for the sake of his grandchildren, Maddox, 15, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 10, and 8-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.“I’m rooting for them. I don't want this thing to dissolve. I'm rooting for the kids,” the Ray Donovan star told Us. “My heart is with everybody, and my daughter, certainly, and the children.” Voight and Jolie were formerly estranged, but have since repaired their once-volatile father-daughter dynamic.Pitt, 53, sought to make custody details relating to their kids private, after Jolie’s lawyer filed paperwork outlining the pair’s temporary, voluntary arrangement with the court back in December. The Allied actor's request was denied by a judge at a hearing in Los Angeles Superior Court on December 7. As Us Weekly reported on January 9, Jolie and Pitt reached an agreement to keep their divorce and custody battle out of the public eye, which they revealed in a joint statement."The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues,” the actors’ reps told Us. “The parents are committed to act as a united front to effectuate recovery and reunification."Despite his fight over custody with Jolie, a source previously told Us that the Fight Club hunk is focusing on his health in the new year. “He lost a bunch of weight,” an insider said. “He’s focusing on himself again, watching what he eats and has a chef making him healthy meals.” Back in November, Pitt was cleared of child abuse allegations by the FBI — just months after Jolie filed for divorce on September 19, citing irreconcilable differences. She requested full custody of their children, and Pitt temporarily agreed to abide by a therapist's decision on whether to grant permission for visits.

Malibu No. 2. Angelina Jolie is renting a second luxury home in Malibu for her and her six kids amid her ongoing custody battle with estranged husband Brad Pitt, a source exclusively reveals to Us Weekly. The secluded new rental, which goes for $35,000 per month, is a mile away from her other Malibu rental. The 5,097-square-foot second home has six bedrooms and five bathrooms along with a pool, tennis court, guest house and private beach."The kids go back and forth between the two houses, and she also has nannies and staff that stay at both,” the insider tells Us. "The kids have been utilizing the pools at both houses when the weather is nice, and the second house has a tennis court where they can skateboard and play ball. Angelina spends most of her time at the first house, but she likes to have options and be able to move everyone around.” The Maleficent actress, 41 — who has been living with Maddox, 15, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8, since the split — set up the first rental house before she filed for divorce from Pitt, 53, in September. Some of the amenities in the five-bedroom, 4,400-square-foot estate include a media room, in-home theater and guest home with a gym.Prior to the shocking split, the globe-trotting family had stayed at a home owned by Pitt when they were in the L.A. area. The Allied actor has digs in Los Feliz that he purchased before he started dating Jolie. The former couple recently came to an agreement to deal with their messy divorce and custody battle privately, after Pitt’s emergency request to seal the case was rejected by a court. Jolie is seeking sole physical custody, and Pitt filed for joint physical custody of the kids in response. “The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues,” their reps told Us in a joint statement on Monday, January 9. “The parents are committed to act as a united front to effectuate recovery and reunification.”

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie released their first joint statement Monday night. The estranged couple has agreed to seal all court documents pertaining to their divorce in order to protect their six children."The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues. The parents are committed to act as a united front to effectuate recovery and reunification," the couple said in a statement obtained by CNN.Jolie and Pitt have been in the midst of a public divorce and custody battle over their children. Jolie is seeking physical custody, while Pitt has requested joint custody. The statement comes one month after Pitt was denied an emergency hearing in which he was attempting to have a judge seal all of their documents and proceedings to protect the privacy of their children and "avoid subjecting them to the negative impact of the intense media coverage and worldwide public scrutiny."At the time, Jolie's camp claimed Pitt's request was an effort to "shield himself, rather than the minor children, from public view," according to documents. Most recently, Pitt filed additional court documents in which he said his wife was "determined to ignore even agreed upon standards relating to the children's best interest." He also said Jolie had "no self-regulating mechanism" when it came to protecting their kids.Pitt and Jolie are currently following an informal custody arrangement in which Jolie retains physical custody and Pitt is given supervised visits.
