Angelina Jolie is not terrified about her kids doing online searches about her, despite a new report. Gossip Cop can correct this manufactured claim. We’re told she’s not concerned and has always been honest with her kids.According to the National Enquirer, which mocked up photos of Jolie and Brad Pitt’s children Shiloh, Paxton, and Maddox in front of laptops, the actress is allegedly nervous about what her kids will “read on the internet about a troubled years.” The repeatedly debunked supermarket tabloid quotes a so-called “mole” as saying, “When the kids were younger, Angie and Brad implemented an internet band.” “For the most part, it succeeded in restricting negativity from their lives.” The supposed insider contends since “everyone in the world needs to log onto the internet for pretty much everything,” Jolie’s new “fear is her brood will discover dirt about her split from Brad, as well as her pass romances with actor Billy Bob Thornton and lesbian love, mmodel-actress Jenny Shimizu.” The purported source further claims in unnatural language, “The older kids are logging in and reading the nitty-gritty details about their parents’ troubled marriage, plus the dark secrets about their mom and dad’s pasts.” “Angie winces when she imagines what the kids are seeing about her during those online searches,” adds the misguided “mole.” While all very juicy, the story is untrue. Gossip Cop hears Jolie is not concerned about what the kids may find one day while online, because she feels she lives her life out in the open. An impeccable insider tells us the tabloid’s premise is off-base. Should her children find out, somehow or another, about parts of her past that she hasn’t already told them, we hear she’ll be forthright with them.Of course, the Enquirer’s record with Jolie has been pretty dismal. Just a couple of months ago, Gossip Cop called out the tabloid falsely claimed Jolie weighted 87 pounds and was sick. In reality, the magazine used a photo from 2014 and digitally altered it to make her arms appear much thinner. That story was a total fabrication, as was an article last week that wrongly maintained Jolie was wasting away after Brad Pitt rejected her. And the current report is equally unfounded. A Jolie insider assures Gossip Cop that the actress is unfazed by what her children one day may find online about her.

Denis Villeneuve Might Direct Angelina Jolie’s Cleopatra Movie

From 2049 to Ancient Egypt? It could happen.Does Denis Villeneuve ever take breaks? Does he need some time off at all? His career has skyrocketed since the release of his first English-language film, Prisoners, and it’s staying in the clouds for a bit. Villeneuve is now in talks to direct a Cleopatra film for Sony. This news of a possible fresh venture nicely follows up the positive buzz his latest studio film, Blade Runner 2049, has been getting a week before release. The Cleopatra film has a screenplay by David Scarpa, adapted from Stacy Schiff’s best-selling book “Cleopatra: A Life,” and will hopefully hold true to the book’s depiction of the iconic ruler of Ancient Egypt a shrewd, formidable and authoritative.Women lead the narratives of a few of Villeneuve’s features. It’s a little finicky with a film like Sicario, which received a polarized response to its portrayal of protagonist Kate Macer (Emily Blunt). The soundbite that caught everyone’s attention revealed that producers tried to have her rewritten as a man. There are obviously glowing reviews out there — FSR’s stance being mostly positive, too. But that polarity regarding Kate’s characterization has merit: is she a force of reason and the audience surrogate — someone who is simply up against bull-headed forces of male violence? Or is her inaction a result of a perceived lack of strength in the character? It’s hard to see Kate as being the protagonist anyway when the sequel won’t even feature her.Arrival exists in beautiful contrast to the nihilistic suffocation of Sicario. A far more straightforward piece in that regard, we can easily root for Dr. Louise Banks (Amy Adams). Where Sicario is all doom-and-gloom, Arrival is much-needed hope and optimism. It’s a loving portrait against the violence of men as opposed to any kind of glorification of it, and it truly is Louise’s role to save the day.“Kinetic, awe-inspiring, and intimate,” Arrival speaks volumes of a kind of acumen the film displays. It is a love letter to humanity without sugarcoating people’s perceived realities when they come face-to-face with something they don’t understand. The film takes audiences through its narrative as slowly and lavishly as possible, because learning a new language and learning to understand a new culture requires that patience.
If Villeneuve is to tackle a Cleopatra film, it needs to be more Arrival than Sicario. It’s great that Villeneuve at least knows how to handle both from a technical viewpoint. However, this film has been gestating at Sony for a long time — going through directors like Ang Lee, David Fincher, and James Cameron. The studio would want to bank on the market for films featuring “strong women” (alas forever bound by quotation marks due to varying interpretations of the phrase). Sony has so much riding on this being an adaptation of an iconic historical figure, and it’s easy to be a skeptic. There are also other concerns to level at the production, which of course hasn’t yet secured Villeneuve as director. Will they cast appropriately with so much money riding on the project (Angelina Jolie says she’s still a possibility)? Despite constant pressure to do so, Hollywood execs have proven time and time again that they simply aren’t interested most of the time.Apparently, it’s up to actors to step up and do the work instead. For once, it’d be great if the industry preempted everyone’s disdain for whitewashing and you know, listened to us.Also… female director? Did anyone think of that?Either way, Villeneuve has his hands full with two other adaptations as it is. He’s helming a film based on Jo Nesbø’s crime novel, The Son, as well as another sci-fi movie, Dune. A Cleopatra film would be an excellent addition to his resume, but as it stands, he has enough on his plate to keep him busy.

It's One of Many Ludicrous Statements from Newly Leaked Interviews Between the President and Howard Stern. It's common knowledge that President Donald Trump frequently called in to chat with notorious radio personality, Howard Stern. But what exactly those conversations entailed was not known to a majority of the public. Until now. According to Elle and other outlets, 15 hours of interviews between the president and Stern were leaked earlier this week. You can listen to them on FactBase, although The Washington Post has done us all the great service of transcribing them here. In case you were wondering, during the presidential race, Stern refused to re-air his interviews with the then-candidate, claiming "Trump did the show...in an effort to have fun with us." A few choice comments from the tapes are below, as abridged from the Elle article.-"When conversation moves on to Trump's obsession with cleanliness, Stern asks him whether he has the women he dates get tested for STDs. 'I own 25 percent of Goodyear Tire and Rubber,' Trump, who is now President of the United States responds, an apparent reference to the number of condoms he goes through."-According to tapes transcribed by the Washington Post, Sterns demands to know whether it's true that Trump has "banged some of the greatest beauties on the planet. 'True,' Trump answers. 'Some of the greats.'" -Trump calls Elin Nordegren a "solid nine," but gives Angelina Jolie a "seven." Jolie, one thinks, must be crushed.-Trump think Ivanka is "much better-looking" than Charlize Theron. Which is kind of a weird thing to say re: your daughter.-And, last but not least..."He tells Stern that Anne Hathaway once lived in Trump Tower: 'I like all people that live in my building. Anybody that lives in my building, even if they’re really unattractive, I consider them to be beautiful,' and while he 'wasn’t a fan,' Hathaway has since 'grown on' him." Wow. What a win for Anne Hathaway!

Angelina Jolie has not banned her 16-year-old son Maddox from dating so he can instead focus on a movie career, despite a newly fabricated report. The article claims the actress doesn’t want the teenager getting distracted by girls, but Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this. We’re told it’s just “nonsense.” Maddox earned an executive producer on his mom’s new film about the Cambodian genocide, First They Killed My Father, for helping out behind-the-scenes. A story published on OK!’s website now says Jolie wants her son to continue down the path of working in Hollywood, and believes girls will get in the way of his professional success. A so-called “source” tells the outlet, “Maddox’s at that age where he wants to hang out at the mall with his friends and flirt with girls, but Angie’s got him on such a tight schedule that he feels smothered.” The tabloid’s supposed insider continues, “She doesn’t want him getting interested in any girls and denies him every opportunity of asking one out. It’s as though nobody’s good enough for him, but Angie insists it’s more about having Maddox focused on his burgeoning movie career.” The seemingly phony source adds, “Angie’s very clear on the direction she wants him to take and as much as he respects that, he feels it’s unfair that he’s not allowed to date.” But Gossip Cop checked in with a mutual pal of ours and Jolie, who laughed off the magazine’s report before exclusively assuring us it’s “nonsense.” In fact, when the actress was asked in a recent interview whether Maddox would continue pursuing a film career, she responded, “It’s up to him.” Regardless, we’re told Jolie hasn’t prohibited her son from dating. Gossip Cop often wonders where OK!’s Jolie sources come from and why the publication doesn’t vet them better. It should be clear the alleged Jolie insiders that the magazine relies on are not entirely credible. Nearly a year ago, we busted the tabloid when it falsely claimed Jolie was reuniting with Brad Pitt for Thanksgiving after the actress reached out to him. As Gossip Cop noted, it was untrue, and of course they and their kids did not spend the holiday together.Additionally, six months ago the magazine falsely maintained, based on a purported Jolie insider, that the actress wanted to get back together with her estranged husband. Not only was that untrue, but Gossip Cop also shot down the outlet’s cover story from two weeks ago that wrongly claimed Jolie had Pitt move back in with her. Simply, OK!’s Jolie sources are not OK at all.

The grocery store tabloids are usually filled with speculation about everything from her weight to her love life. But while Angelina Jolie might normally be expected to skip the magazine rack, she rushed to grab a copy of one particular publication as she shopped on Sunday. The actress grinned with undisguised delight when she spotted her old friend Jane Goodall on the front cover of this month's National Geographic. She played the iconic primatologist in the 2011 movie Jane's Journey. And Angelina gave a rare public smile as she picked up a copy of the magazine and flicked through the pages while doing her grocery shopping with an assistant in Los Feliz. The copy was covered by the iconic female scientist, famed for her landmark studies of chimpanzees in the wild.A new documentary, Jane, scored by composer Philip Glass, draws from more than 100 hours of previously unseen footage filmed by Hugo van Lawick, a National Geographic filmmaker who later married Goodall. The movie also includes new interviews with Goodall. The documentary premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, where Angelina was present promoting her movie about the Cambodian genocide First They Killed My Father, now showing on Netflix, which she directed and co-wrote.Angelina, 42, wore her usual black as she shopped, with the mother-of-six filling her trolley with a selection of healthy food - vegetables, fruit, eggs and juice - carrying a handy Everlane Day Tote on her shoulder. Following her split from husband Brad Pitt last year, Angelina recently told People magazine she felt 'stronger'.The actress turned director has children Maddox, 16, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 11, and nine-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne with Brad. Speaking to People magazine, she said: 'I have had my ups and downs. I guess I am a little bit stronger.'We all have our difficult times, but as a mother you also have a responsibility first and foremost towards the kids. They are going through their formative years and everything else comes second to that.'I haven’t worked for over a year now because they needed me home. We’ve all been a bit in lockdown. I think they’re itching to get out in the world again.'The Maleficent star’s comments come after she returned to work after taking a break in 2016 when her divorce meant she was 'needed' at home to support her brood. She said: 'Right now I don't have anything to direct that I feel passionate about like this, so I'll do some acting. I've taken over a year off now, because of my family situation, to take care of my kids.'When they can have - when I feel it's time for me to go back to work, I'll be able to go back to work. I've been needed at home. I hope [to work again] in the months to come.'Asked what she'll be working on, she added: 'Maleficent [sequel], we're working on, most likely. And I look forward to having some fun with that. Cleopatra, there is a script. There's a lot of different things floating around. But I haven't committed.'
