Before Katnis Everdeen picked up a bow and arrow in The Hunger Games or Beatrix Kiddo sliced men to shreds in Kill Bill, there was one badass who helped paved the way fierce females everywhere: Lara Croft. Angelina Jolie’s interpretation of the videogame heroine in 2001’s Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and its 2003 sequel, introduced the sexy, self-sufficient character to a wider audience. Men wanted her and women clearly wanted to be her — remember how many gun-weilding Crofts you saw running around on Halloween circa 2002?Now that the ass-kicking character has been nipped and tucked in preparation for her new cyber quest — don't worry, she's still a busty, hot, braided brunette, just a little more vulnerable, a little darker, a little more human — we’re already looking forward to the inevitable big screen revival. Come on, we all know it’s only a matter of time before the powers-that-be in Hollywood recycle the idea into 3-D cinematic adventure.Since Jolie currently has her hands full with other action-packed flicks like Maleficent and Salt 2 — not to mention raising a small army of children — we decided to start the hunt for her successor as the boot-clad, braided heroine. Here are five actresses we think are worthy successors to Jolie's gaming legacy:
1. Emilia Clarke: Three words: Mother. Of. Dragons. Clarke already portrays the epitome of a badass as the fire-immune leader/khaleesi of the Dothraki — the most ruthless and bloodthirtsty warriors in HBO’s Game of Thrones. Plus, she's already spent the night in the middle of a freaking bonfire while dragons hatched around her, so shooting a few villians in a cave would be a walk in the park.
2. Naya Rivera: If you don’t think this sing-songy actress belongs on our list of Croft-worthy contenders, then you clearly have not seen an episode of Glee. Rivera’s fiery alter ego, Santana Lopez, can terrify and intimate anyone with just an icy glare or subtle furrowing of the brow. Add in the fact that she’s perfected how to break necks with her verbal bitch-slaps and we may have found our first tomb raider who can defeat all her opponents without lifting a single perfectly polished finger.
3. Jessica Chastain: After witnessing Chastain’s undeniably flawless acting as the passionate yet persistent CIA agent in Zero Dark Thirty we think it’s time that she had a fun role to play around with. After playing a woman being terrorized by a grieving mother-turned-ruthless demon in Mama, it would be a nice respite for Chastain to run around and let her inner badass shine on screen yet again.
4. Evangeline Lilly: For six seasons, we watched Lilly run around that godforsaken island on Lost facing everything from smoke monsters to time travelers — and she looked fabulous the entire time. Plus, we're positive that Lilly could channel Kate Austen's fugitive background and create a uniquely exciting new Lara.
5. Kristin Kreuk: This CW darling is hiding some serious badassery behind those hazel eyes: The former Smallville leading lady, who now plays a charismatic NYC cop in Beauty and the Beast, frequently performs her own stunts. She has a purple belt in karate, for pete's sake. Plus, she already starred in a videogame-to-movie adaptation, 2009's Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li.
Who do you think would make the best Lara Croft in the inevitable cinematic revival? Have any other suggestions? Cast your votes in the comments!

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt will NOT have elephants at their wedding, PETA has confirmed. In a statement to Page Six, the animal-rights organization said it would be "out of character" for the wildlife-loving couple to have the gentle giants grace their upcoming nuptials. The rumor mill buzzed last week after Lucille Michel, the couple's florist, told the UK's Grazia magazine that the Jolie-Pitt affair would be the Noah’s Arc of celeb weddings. She said in sensationalist detail that “guests will travel past water fountains and Shetland ponies leaping as they go up the two-mile long drive to the house…When the guests park, they'll see the family of elephants. Brad hopes it will make them smile.” “Apparently, the elephants were the children's idea," Michel said, adding that there would be eight elephants to represent each member of the Brangelina family. The rumors appear to have been put to bed as PETA writes, "It would be out of character for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt—a couple who clearly values family and has donated millions to safeguard land and wildlife in Africa—to have elephants at their wedding ceremony."They probably realize that elephants used as props at events and in other forms of entertainment are separated from their families, kept chained most of their lives, carted from town to town, and beaten in training so that they perform on cue. They know that sensitive, family-oriented animals deserve to live in peace.” Rumor has it that the superstars are set to tie the knot at their Chateau Miraval estate in the South of France at the end of May.

Singer also opened up about losing her baby weight.P!nk has admitted that she found it a lot harder than she thought she would to lose her baby weight after giving birth to her daughter Willow, but the Who Knew? singer is planning to have more children, praising Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt for their family. The singer has admitted that she loves to eat “carbs, bread, cheese, pasta” and that during her pregnancy, she used to feast on “chicken wings”.n an interview with the Sunday Mirror: "I thought I'd lose [the weight] a lot easier. I'm totally okay with it, though, and definitely don't spend time thinking about it. It doesn't stop me enjoying my life."I also have the opposite of body dysmorphia where when I'm a bit chubby, I think I look kind of great. I'm like, 'Damn, you look good!' And everyone else is like, 'No, you're fat'."I'd like five kids. I want to adopt. How amazing are Brad and Angelina, though? I don't know how they do it, I have one kid and I'm exhausted. I don't do one-sixteenth of what that woman does." Pink, who has been married to Carey Hart since 2006, has also opened up about her marriage which has made the headlines in recent years with the couple temporarily splitting in 2008 and reuniting in 2010."I worry about everything. I'll say, 'We need to talk about the way you passed me the butter this morning because I feel like it's over between us',” she said. "It's not men's fault that they don't speak your language, it's just you have to figure out a way to get around it."Women pay more of a price emotionally. I watch Carey leave the house and he doesn't look back. He's a fantastic father but men deal with it differently."They don't take on guilt. When I'm gone for five minutes, I'm questioning everything. But how wonderful for a girl to grow up seeing her mother doing what she loves. So there are pros and cons."
