A trip to the airport usually isn't a fun proposition, but Angelina Jolie looked to be in high spirits as she arrived to catch a flight.The 43-year-old star flashed a winning smile as she strolled up to New York's JFK airport on Saturday.She flashed her winning smile while showing off an elegant beige trench coat.The 5ft7in beauty paired her coat with a black sweater and a slim pair of dark jeans.She rocked a knee-length pair of black leather boots and wore a long camel-colored linen scarf.The Changeling star carried along a large beige bag with a striking red strap as her carry-on. Though Angelina has focused more on directing than acting recently, she might return to her roots with another big budget project.The daughter of Jon Voight is currently in talks to star in an upcoming Marvel Studios adaptation of The Eternals, according to The Hollywood Reporter.The series, which has been sporadically produced since the mid-1970s, depicts a race of super-powered and long-lived humanoids who are tasked with protecting the human race.It's not clear who she would play or what the story might be, but Chloé Zhao is already attached to direct. She directed the 2018 low-budget feature The Rider, which ended on many critics' best of the year lists.Though she has renewed her focus on film, Angelina's commitment to bettering the lives of the underprivileged around the globe is as strong as ever.She was in New York on March 22 to delivery an address to the United Nations in her capacity as a special envoy for the UN refugee agency.In her speech, she warned that the current waves of violence and bloodshed throughout the world would continue as long as the rights of women are not protected.Despite the numbers of successful women in many countries, 'women and girls are still the majority of the victims of war' and 'the vast majority' of victims of sexual violence. Women also make up more than half of all global refugees.Absent from her New York trip were her six children, which she shares with her ex-husband Brad Pitt, 55.The former couple share three adopted children, Maddox, 17, Pax, 15, and Zahara, 14. They also have tree biological children, 12-year-old Shiloh and 10-year-old twins, Knox and Vivienne.Though she planned to adopt the oldest, Maddox, with her then-husband Billy Bob Thornton, the Wanted actress ended up adopting him a single parent. Brad later adopted all their children during their relationship.The couple began dating in 2005 following their collaboration in Mr. & Mrs. Smith and the dissolution of the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood star's marriage to Jennifer Aniston.The finally married in 2014, before ultimately divorcing in 2016.

The humanitarian arrived at the United Nations Headquarters in Manhattan to speak on the role women play as influential peacemakers.Jolie wore a white blouse along with a high-waited black skirt. She accompanied the look with a sand-colored trench coat.As she arrived, the actress greeted the Assistant-Secretary General for Africa Bintou Keit and posed for photos with Lieutenant Commander Marcia Andrade Braga, United Nations Military Gender Advocate of the Year.The A-List actress and UN special envoy for refugees delivered the keynote address at a conference to raise support for UN peacekeeping missions at a time when the United States is seeking major budget cuts to the blue helmet operations.'I'm a patriot. I love my country and I want to see it thrive,' Jolie told the gathering at the General Assembly.'I also believe in an America that is part of an international community.' 'Countries working together on equal footing is how we reduce the risk of conflict. It is how we avoid the need to send men and women of our militaries to fight and sacrifice overseas.'The United Nations was set up to find ways of resolving differences peacefully and 'it is all in our interest for the UN to be made effective, brought closer to the lives of citizens, and not ever misused,' she added.Jolie's praise for the United Nations stood in contrast with the disdain US President Donald Trump's administration has shown the world body.Trump has cut US funding to the United Nations and his national security adviser John Bolton, a former UN ambassador, once remarked that if the UN's 38-floor building 'lost 10 stories, it wouldn't make a bit of difference.'Jolie, who has traveled to refugee camps worldwide, said that peacekeeping missions 'often represent the last and only hope for millions of people facing daily threats to their safety and their basic rights.'The award-winning actress made an appeal for increasing the number of women peacekeepers in UN missions.Jolie was appointed to Special Envoy in April 2012 following years of service in working with mass population displacement.

For the last few years, Angelina Jolie has been focused on a career behind the cameras. But now, Jolie may be joining one of Marvel Studios’ next films. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jolie is in negotiations to star in The Eternals.THR’s report doesn’t have any info on who Jolie would portray, but the lead female character in Eternals is Sersi. In the comics, Sersi is a member of the seemingly immortal Eternals who made a life for herself in New York City. During the early ’90s, Sersi joined the Avengers and remained with the team for four years. If Jolie takes the role, Sersi seems to be the most likely choice. Alternatively, Jolie could portray a different character or even one of the villains.What we do know is that Eternals will put its focus on Sersi and Ikaris, and their centuries spanning love story. As conceived by Jack Kirby in the ’70s, the Eternals and their rivals, the Deviants, were offshoots of humanity created by the Celestials. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy films have already established the Celestials in the MCU. Even Thanos, the Mad Titan, is an Eternal, although none of his previous appearances in the films have acknowledged that.Chloe Zhao is directing The Eternals from a script by Matthew and Ryan Firpo. Angelina Jolie moving to New York with her six kids to get away from Brad Pitt? That’s the claim in one of this week’s celebrity magazines. Gossip Cop, however, can prove the story is 100 percent not true.According to the latest issue of the National Enquirer, “Jolie is secretly plotting to uproot her brood and move from California to New York, thousands of miles away from [her] estranged hubby.” To make it appear as if its report is legitimate, the supermarket tabloid quotes a so-called “source” as saying, “Angie wants to make a clean start in the Big Apple.” “She doesn’t really care if this makes it more difficult for Brad to see their children,” adds the ill-informed or possibly manufactured “insider.” Of course, the premise makes no sense. Just this past June, the judge presiding over their divorce warned Jolie that Pitt must be allowed to see the kids more or she’d lose custody. If she were “secretly plotting” to take the kids away, and make it “more difficult for Brad to see their children,” it’s safe to say she would immediately lose custody and the supposed plan to start a new life in New York would completely backfire.To fill out the rest of its article, and make it seem plausible that Jolie might unilaterally decide to relocate to New York, the magazine points out how two weeks ago she took her children to various events in Manhattan. It’s mentioned how all the kids went to a screening of the Netflix film, The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind, while just a handful of them accompanied her to the premiere of the documentary Serendity. The outlet also relates how the actress went on a college tour of NYU with her oldest son, Maddox, and took a few others shopping in the university’s neighborhood.But just because she visited New York with her family doesn’t mean she’s moving there. Last month, as a special Special Envoy for the UN Refugee Agency, Jolie visited Rohingya refugees who fled from Myanmar to Bangladesh, and she’s not moving there. In fact, last June Jolie bought late director Cecil B. DeMille’s house for $24.5 million, planting her and her kids firmly in Los Angeles.Then, towards the end of highly inaccurate article, the tabloid’s same unnamed “source” further contends, “Angie wants to leave Hollywood behind, and Brad along with it.” “Most people in the industry have sided with Brad, making it harder for her to find work,” asserts the tipster without any proof whatsoever. As a result, maintains the supposed “insider,” Jolie has decided to “pursue new opportunities in New York theater.” The anonymous “source concludes the actress also “loves the idea of being close to Maddox at college, and getting back at Brad is icing on the cake.”
The truth, of which there is little in the magazine’s story, is that Jolie is not leaving Hollywood, nor is she having a hard time finding work. She can next be seen in Maleficent 2. Jolie wrapped production a few months ago on Come Away, and she’s next slated to film Those Who Wish Me Dead. And it’s also illogical that a woman devoted to her kids would want to drop everything for a career in theater, which typically means performing six nights a week away from the children, as well as additional afternoon matinees on Wednesdays and weekends.Lastly, it hasn’t even been established that Jolie’s oldest child will attend NYU. But even if he does, the idea of her moving “close to Maddox” is also not in the best interest of her five other children. As noted above, the actress bought a home in Los Angeles, and would not turn her kids’ lives upside by taking them away from their friends and activities in California.Practically, everything claimed by the publication is provably wrong. Still, Gossip Cop checked in with a source in Jolie’s camp, and we’re assured it’s all wrong. Jolie is not planning on moving to New York to get away from Pitt, nor would she ever jeopardize the custody of her children by doing that.The Enquirer has a questionable track record when it comes to reporting about Jolie. Among the many falsehoods published by that supermarket tabloid was a piece two years ago about how Jolie was moving with her kids out of the United States. Employing similar language, the magazine and its phony “source” said then that Jolie was “hitting” Pitt “where it hurts” by “uprooting their kids to London.” Obviously, that was a lie.Then last year, Gossip Cop busted the often discredited outlet when it similarly insisted Jolie was moving to France with her six kids amid the custody battle with Pitt. In that wholly fictitious article, the magazine’s seemingly fabricated source alleged Jolie was fleeing America because she “wants to make it as hard as possible for Brad to see their children.” Sound familiar? It’s practically the same quote used in the newly concocted story about the actress moving to New York to get away from Pitt.To recap: The outlet has nothing to prove Jolie is moving to New York. Conversely, there’s overwhelming evidence why it’s untrue and would essentially torpedo her chances of having reasonable custody of her and Pitt’s children. It’s also clear she’s not leaving film acting anytime soon, as floated by the publication. Equally significant, the tabloid has tried this bogus narrative twice before, and time has shown those tales to be false. For those reasons and others, Gossip Cop is giving the story a zero on our fact-or-fiction meter.
