          Two-time Oscar nominee Scarlett Johansson will produce and star in Bride - a film about the Bride of Frankenstein - despite Oscar winner Angelina Jolie's dueling film, which has been in the works since 2017.The doomed Elizabeth Lavenza, Dr. Victor Frankenstein's adopted sister-turned-fiancée, was originally created by author Mary Shelley in her 1818 novel, Frankenstein.THR reported Thursday that Scarlett's version would be helmed by Oscar winner Sebastián Lelio - the Chilean filmmaker behind Gloria Bell (2019), Disobedience (2018), and A Fantastic Woman (2017).  'It is long overdue for Bride to step out of the shadow of her male counterpart and stand alone,' the 35-year-old JoJo Rabbit actress said in a statement.'Working alongside [screenwriters] Rebecca Angelo and Lauren Schuker Blum, Sebastian and I are extremely excited to emancipate this classic anti-heroine and reanimate her story to reflect the change we see today.' Johnansson's Bride would be a woman created by an entrepreneur to be the ideal wife, but instead rejects her creator and discovers her true identity. Meanwhile, there's been no update on Angelina's similarly plotted Bride of Frankenstein since Variety reported in February that Oscar-nominated producer Amy Pascal was circling the project with screenwriter David Koepp (The Mummy). Pascal was attempting to lure her Spider-Man director Sam Raimi, but it's unlikely considering he'll begin production on Marvel's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness starting May 2021.Elizabeth was famously portrayed by Elsa Lanchester opposite Boris Karloff in James Whales' 1935 sequel, The Bride of Frankenstein. Back in 1974, the Bride's transformation was spoofed by Madeline Kahn opposite Peter Boyle in Mel Brooks' critically-acclaimed hit comedy, Young Frankenstein. Two-time Oscar nominee Helena Bonham Carter looked far more grotesque after her resurrection in Kenneth Branagh's dismally-reviewed 1994 version Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.Other notable actresses to take on the skunk-haired undead character have included Mae Clarke, Valerie Hobson, Hazel Court, Lacey Turner, Patty Mullen, Katie Weston, and Naomie Harris.

            The Maleficent star shares six children with ex-husband Brad Pitt.Angelina Jolie often keeps her family life out of the spotlight, but in the summer, the Hollywood star opened up about her experience during lockdown in an interview with Harper's Bazaar.In the interview, the Maleficent star revealed that during quarantine, her youngest daughter Vivienne's beloved pet bunny had died.The mother-of-six said: "Like most parents, I focus on staying calm so my children don't feel anxiety from me on top of all they are worrying about. I put all my energy into them. "During the lockdown, Vivienne's bunny passed away during a surgery, and we adopted two sweet little ones who are disabled." Discussing how the new additions to the family have helped, she continued: "They need to be in pairs. They are so gentle and it has helped to focus on their care with her at this time and on the dogs, and snakes and lizard." The award-winning actress has been spending the pandemic at home in Los Angeles with her six children, Maddox, 18, Pax, 16, Zahara, 15, Shiloh, 14, and 12-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, and just like every other parent, she's been struggling with homeschooling.Opening up about the experience in her column for Time magazine in April, she wrote: "We're all locked in, we're doing all right… Well, the two things that affect children from my view the most being out of school is of course, education, and the challenges of education." The Girl, Interrupted actress continued: "I know parents across the country are challenged with homeschool and maybe that's more a challenge for the parents than the children."The Hollywood star also opened up about her close relationship with her children and how she has learned that it's okay not to be perfect. "Now, in the midst of this pandemic, I think of all the mothers and fathers with children at home. All hoping they can do everything right, answer all needs, and stay calm and positive. One thing that has helped me is to know that's impossible," she penned.The award-winning actress shares her six children with ex-husband Brad Pitt, who lives nearby.During the pandemic, the kids have been spending their time between their mum and dad's houses.There is no doubt that the Jolie-Pitt children are keeping themselves occupied while staying at home too. Angelina has previously opened up about her children's interests and revealed that they all enjoy learning languages.During an interview on BBC Radio 4's Women's Hour, she said: "All the kids are learning different languages. I asked them what languages they wanted to learn and Shi is learning Khmai, which is a Cambodian language, Pax is focusing on Vietnamese, Mad has taken to German and Russian, Z is speaking French, Vivienne really wanted to learn Arabic, and Knox is learning sign language."

            Angelina Jolie had an interesting run-in this weekend while out shopping with her son Pax.The Salt star, 45, encountered a group of animal rights activists while exiting the Urban Outfitters in West Hollywood, California on Saturday, followed by Pax, 16.Jolie was in an all-black outfit, mask included, when she crossed paths with the picketers, in matching slide shoes with a buckle. The Oscar winner also carried a small black purse with gold detailing, which she wore across her frame.Angelina's long skirt fell to her mid-calf, and she wore a long sleeved top as the weather has started cooling in Southern California. Her auburn hair was in a half-ponytail, and it hung long and straight at her shoulders.The group of demonstrators, from PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), carried white signs with phrases such as 'Animals are not ours to wear' and 'This is the face of cashmere'. The photo on the sign that accompanied the latter phrase showed a sheep being shorn, while screaming.Another sign proclaimed, 'The face of fashion is fear'.As Jolie and her son left, the group entered the store and stood brandishing their signs. The mother-of-six, for her part, has long been an advocate for protesting and speaking out for one's beliefs.The one-time United Nations peace ambassador and refugee advocate in fact is currently at work on a new book with Amnesty International, focused on helping young people find their voice and power when it comes to protesting.Last week, it was announced that the work, entitled Know Your Rights (And Claim Them), has been acquired by Anderson Press.It will help children up until the age of 18 counter misinformation and let them know how to stop their rights from being violated.And on the acting front, Jolie's most recent voice role is in a film also advocating for animal rights. The animated film The One And Only Ivan, now streamable Disney+, follows a group of animals led by a gorilla named Ivan who struggle to free themselves from captivity.Additionally, Jolie has another family-friendly film ready to go – the Alice In Wonderland/Peter Pan crossover Come Away, the trailer for which premiered earlier this month.The busy actress has at least three other movies in the works, the most anticipated of which is Marvel's next hopeful tentpole The Eternals, due next November.

           Oscar winners Angelina Jolie and Christoph Waltz are in discussions to star in STX Films’ upcoming feature, Every Note Played.According to Deadline, the drama film is an official adaptation of author Lisa Genova’s 2018 novel of the same name. The story is about a world-renowned concert pianist and composer on the verge of creating his magnum opus.When he receives a life-changing diagnosis, his estranged ex-wife takes up the cross of caring for him, and he is forced to balance reconciling his failed relationships with redefining his pursuit of greatness.Every Note Played will be directed by Michael Sucsy, who previously helmed films such as The Vow and Every Day. Monet Clayton, Richard Barton Lewis, and Gabrielle Jerou will produce the project.
