Angelina Jolie was seen spending some quality time with her daughter Zahara, 18, at Atelier Jolie in New York's NoHo neighborhood on Thursday afternoon. While swinging by her clothing brand's retail location, which includes a gallery that will eventually host 'educational events' on subjects like sustainability and art, the movie star, 48, rocked a long black coat with white patches and oversized shades. The mom-of-six completed her chic ensemble with a pair of black leather boots and large tote bag to carry her essentials. For their laid-back outing, Zahara rocked a black cardigan, North Face puffer jacket, silver hoop earrings, white sneakers with grey accents and light-wash jeans. Zahara's latest sighting comes just a month after she seemingly dropped her father's last name as she joined a sorority at Spelman College. In a video of the teen's induction into Alpha Kappa Alpha, the first historically Black sorority in the Greek system, she introduced herself as Zahara Marley Jolie. According to People, as she spoke to the crowd, the college student, who is passionate about social justice and advocacy, said: 'My name is Zahara Marley Jolie. And [I] landed all the way from the Golden State in the city full of angels: Los Angeles, California.' Angelina, 48, and Brad, 59, split seven years ago, but the exes have been involved in a contentious years-long feud over custody, the dramatic circumstances under which their relationship ended and their ongoing business affairs. The notable name exclusion did not go unnoticed by various social media users. 'I wasn’t gonna say anything, but I definitely peeped that Zahara left Pitt off her last name,' tweeted one viewer. 'Oh Zahara said her last name is Jolie, not Jolie-Pitt,' another posted. 'I need people to respect her as an individual who just said her name out loud ZAHARA. MARLEY. JOLIE. Zero mention of the name PITT. Periodt,' another posted.
Zahara is currently a sophomore at Spelman College, a historically Black women's college in Atlanta, Georgia. After controversially meeting on the set of the 2005 film Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Brad and Angelina were seen as Hollywood's 'It' couple during their long-term relationship. They tied the knot in August 2014 during a secret ceremony in the South of France, and welcomed three children together during their romance - Shiloh, now 17, in 2006, and twins Vivienne and Knox, now 15, in 2008. They also adopted two more, Zahara, and Pax, now 19, and Brad legally adopted the son that Angelina had adopted before they got together, Maddox, now 22. But in 2016, it came to an explosive end after the pair got into an alleged physical altercation while on a private flight with their six kids. Angelina later claimed that Brad 'choked' one of the children during the horrifying dispute and 'struck' another in the face, leaving her and the kids feeling like 'hostages' and cowering in fear under a blanket for hours until they landed. She also alleged that he grabbed her by the head, slammed her against a wall, and violently shook her at one point during the flight - which resulted in her injuring her back and elbow. Brad's rep called Angelina's account 'completely untrue' to CNN at first, but then released an amended statement to the publication that read, 'Angelina's story continues to evolve each time she tells it. 'Brad has accepted responsibility for what he did but will not for things he didn’t do. He has been on the receiving end of every type of personal attack and misrepresentation. 'Thankfully, the various public authorities she has tried to use against him over the past six years have made their own independent decisions. Brad will continue to respond in court as he has consistently done.'Since they split, the two stars have been embroiled in one of the most publicized legal battles in Hollywood history over custody of their children, as well as the winery that they once owned together.
In May 2021, after years of duking it out in court, Brad and Angelina were officially granted joint custody of their six kids - but one month later, the judge's decision was thrown out. Zahara's sorority was founded back in 1908, at another HBCU, Howard University, while her chapter Mu Pi was founded in 1979. Fans of Zahara's mom Angelina got a shock back in August of last year when the 48-year-old Maleficent star joined her daughter for Spelman's move-in day. Jolie kept a low profile in a black blouse and matching slacks as she helped Zahara get settled. Darryl Holloman, Spelman's vice president for student affairs, shared a photo to Instagram at the time of himself beaming with Angelina and a masked-up Zahara, and she also stopped to chat on campus with the university president Dr. Helene Gayle. 'Welcome to campus..Zahara,' Holloman captioned the post. Zahara's father Brad didn't appear to play a role when she started at Spelman. However, he made it clear that he was very 'proud' of what his daughter had so far accomplished with her education. 'I’m so proud of her,' he gushed to Vanity Fair around the time she started school. 'She’s so smart. She’s going to flourish even more at college. It’s an exciting and beautiful time to find her own way and pursue her interests. I’m so proud.'

Angelina Jolie looked effortlessly chic as she visited the storefront for her new fashion brand, Atelier Jolie. The actress, 48, was seen departing the shop in New York City with her children Zahara, 18, and Knox Jolie-Pitt, 15, on Tuesday. She looked incredibly sophisticated in a black blazer worn over a matching top and smart trousers that skimmed over her heeled leather footwear. The A-lister emerged from the shop with a sleek pair of sunglasses shielding her eyes and her honey brunette hair cascading down her head. She commanded attention as she left the store with a smile on her face and hardly a stitch of makeup on her radiant complexion.Angelina - who shares Zahara and Knox with ex-husband Brad Pitt - followed her daughter down the stairs before flashing a wide grin. The Tomb Raider star launched Atelier Jolie earlier this year and in July announced her store would be opening at 57 Great Jones St. in New York City, a building closely connected to two late art legends. The graffitied building was once owned by Andy Warhol and occupied by Jean-Michel Basquiat. Warhol purchased the building in 1970 and later rented the second floor to Basquiat, his friend and protégé. 'A privilege to be in this space. We will do our best to respect and honor its artist legacy with community and creativity. Hope to see you there,' Angelina posted to Instagram back in July. 'Jean-Michel Basquiat’s sisters Lisane Basquiat and Jeanine Heriveauxex illuminate his contribution to the history of art at the exhibit King Pleasure,' she added. Accompanying the message was a video of her store's name being spray painted onto the building as Angelina stood close by. Speaking to Vogue of her fashion brand, she said back in September: 'I don’t want to be a big fashion designer, I want to build a house for other people to become that. 'I'm hoping to change many aspects of my life. And this is the forward-facing one.'
Angelina told the outlet that she hopes Atelier Jolie will inspire women to 'feel safe enough' to be 'soft,' something she herself has had a hard time doing. Angelina Jolie can expect a heroine’s welcome when she moves her family to Cambodia.Women in the South-east Asian nation consider her their ‘patron saint’ – some even believing she was Cambodian in a previous life.‘She has some of our same beautiful physical features,’ farmer Phalla Ung told DailyMail.com.‘The delicate features, the eyes, the skin tone, the hair and especially her smile, they look so Cambodian.‘Many of us believe that in a past life Angelina was actually a Cambodian,’ added 62-year-old Ung, who still labors in the fields.Jolie, 48, spoke out this week in an interview with WSJ. – The Wall Street Journal’s magazine – about how she wants to get away from ‘unhealthy’ Los Angeles and live in her Asian home. But her plans have been stymied due to her long-running custody battle with ex-husband Brad Pitt. The pair started dating in 2005 and married in 2014, but split two years later, in 2016 – and since then, they have been embroiled in a lengthy, seven-year divorce proceeding over the custody of their six kids. But as that legal fight winds down her chance to move way from acting and live in the country she loves are becoming more real.‘We Cambodians will openly welcome her,’ said Phon Phalla, a 72-year-old fisherwoman from Kampong Phluk, a picturesque village in the west of the country where many houses are built on stilts due to the huge change in water levels between the wet and dry seasons.‘If she is willing to give up her life in Hollywood to find happiness here with us after traveling so many places, we would feel very honored.‘We would like nothing better than to put a smile on Angelina’s face – one we can make last forever.’ Many of the women of Cambodia are strong and they work as hard as the men, fishing and farming and with the added burden of caring for their children and their families.Angelina owns a traditional longhouse set on 150,000 acres of land in remote northwestern Cambodia which she used as backdrop for a 2019 advertising campaign for the fragrance Mon Guerlain. The idea of Angelina shedding her life of privilege in California and trading it in for a much simpler life in Cambodia, makes her a role model for the women of the country.‘She’s our saint,’ said Kol Thida, a farmer.‘I like Angelina 's personality so much because she chooses people over Hollywood.‘And the fact she has adopted children from all over the world, is proof how she clearly loves humanity and has a loving kindness regardless of her ethnicity. ‘We will welcome her to move to our country with open arms.’
Jolie has three adopted children, including her oldest Maddox, 22, who she took home from an orphanage in the country’s third-largest city, Battambang. She also adopted Pax, 20, from Vietnam and Zahara,18, from Ethiopia. She and Pitt had three children, Shiloh, 17, and 15-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox. The children now have little or no contact with Pitt, 59.Just last month, DailyMail.com revealed that Pax had written an excoriating Father’s Day message to him calling him ‘a world class a**hole’ and saying: ‘You have made the lives of those closest to me a constant hell.’‘You time and time and again prove yourself to be a terrible and despicable person,’ Pax wrote.‘You have no consideration or empathy toward your 4 youngest children who tremble in fear when in your presence.‘You will never understand the damage you have done to my family because you are incapable of doing so,’ Pax added.Pax, who was 16 at the time ended the post with the words ‘So, Happy Father’s Day, you f***ing awful human being!!!’Their adopted daughter has even gone as far as to change her name from Zahara Jolie-Pitt to Zahara Jolie.Angelina filed for divorce from Pitt two days after a reported argument on a private plane when Maddox stepped in to protect his mother from an allegedly drunk Pitt.Maddox is now said to be completely estranged from Pitt.In her WSJ. Interview Angelina said: ‘I will move when I can.’She added: ‘I grew up in quite a shallow place. Of all the places in the world, Hollywood is not a healthy place. So you seek authenticity.'Angelina – whose parents, Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand, were both actors – added that because 'she grew up around' Hollywood, she was 'never very impressed' with it. 'I never bought into it as significant or important,' she told the publication. She admitted that if she were to start all over today, she likely wouldn't choose acting as her profession, because of the 'expectation' to share intimate details about her personal life that comes with fame. She added, 'When I was starting out, it wasn’t as much of an expectation to be as public, to share so much.'She also joked that she 'doesn't really have a social life' anymore and that all of her 'closest friends are refugees.'The movie star has worked with the the UN Refugee Agency for more than two decades, visiting camps in Cambodia, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, and Pakistan over the years.'There’s a reason people who have been through hardship are also much more honest and much more connected, and I am more relaxed with them,' she said.'Why do I like spending time with people who’ve survived and are refugees? They’ve confronted so much in life that it brings forward not just strength, but humanity.'In 2003, Angelina founded the non-profit Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation, a ‘conservation and community development program’ to protect endangered wildlife and forests in Cambodia. Its first task was to clear landmines left over from years of conflict in the 1970s and ‘80s. That action helped Angelina boost her popularity in a country where an estimated 5 million landmines lie undiscovered, killing or injuring more than 40 people every year.Last year Angelina took her daughter Shiloh to Cambodia to work with the foundation.‘A few days in Cambodia among the warm local people, and I feel my soul is recovering,’ she said at the time.‘This has always been a special country for me and our family.’

Halle Berry opened up about her 'rocky start' with Maude v Maude co-star Angelina Jolie, though she added it will likely help the film. It was reported in April that Warner Bros. emerged victorious in a competitive bidding situation over several studios for the action-thriller. Both Berry, 57, and Jolie, 48, were attached to both star and produce through their respective production companies.Berry spoke with Variety at the Red Sea Film Festival, where she admitted her and Jolie didn't get off to a great start, but they both bonded over divorce and exes. 'We had a rocky start and I think that is going to serve us well in our screen time together,' Berry said. The actress added she is, 'thrilled to work with another woman and craft a story with our sensibility and from our point of view. She is formidable.' Berry wouldn't elaborate on the initial friction between her and Jolie, adding people will have to wait to hear that story, but insisting it's a, 'good one.' 'We’ve been talking a lot about divorces and exes. We bonded, let’s say that,' Berry admitted, with both actresses thrice divorced. Berry was previously married to baseball star David Justice (1993-1997), singer-songwriter Eric Benet (2001-2005) and Olivier Martinez (2013-2016).
Jolie was married to her Hackers co-star Jonny Lee Miller (1996-2000), Billy Bob Thornton (2000-2003) and Brad Pitt (2014-2019). Berry also described Maude v Maude as a mixture of Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Mission: Impossible with a comedic twist, adding she was looking forward to battling with her co-star, 'physically and intellectually.' The actress' trip to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia had dual purposes, to attend the film festival and to scout locations for Maude v Maude. She visited Jeddah's historical center Al-Balad before the interview, insisting that the film would truly be a globe-trotting adventure.'We plan on going all around the world. Warner Bros. bought our screenplay and, for us, it is about going places that have never been shown on screen before,' she said. Roseanne Liang (Shadow in the Cloud) is directing from a script by Scott Mosier, who started his career as a producer on director Kevin Smith's indie hit Clerks. Berry will produce with her producing partner Holly Jeter through their HalleHolly production company. Jeff Kirschenbaum and Joe Roth are also producing through their RK Films company, though it's unclear when production will begin. Berry has The Union with Mark Wahlberg and The Mothership with Omari Hardwick slated for release in the new year.

Angelina Jolie has hinted that she wants to quit acting for good - while revealing that she plans to leave 'unhealthy' Los Angeles and 'spend more time' in Cambodia after 'losing the ability to travel freely' amid her bitter divorce battle with Brad Pitt. The actress, 48, spoke out about her dislike of Hollywood in WSJ. Magazine's new December/January issue, explaining that she believes it is a 'shallow' place, and admitting that she would likely never have become an actress if she was entering the industry today. She explained that she wants to move away as soon as she can to instead live in her home in Asia - but not until her ongoing legal battle with her ex finds a resolution. The pair started dating in 2005 and married in 2014, but split two years later, in 2016 - and since then, they have been embroiled in a lengthy, seven-year divorce proceeding over the custody of their six kids. Angelina told WSJ. Magazine that the court battle has lead to her 'losing the ability to live and travel freely.''It’s part of what happened after my divorce - I lost the ability to live and travel as freely,' she said. 'I will move when I can. 'I grew up in quite a shallow place. Of all the places in the world, Hollywood is not a healthy place. So you seek authenticity.'Angelina - whose parents, Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand, were both actors themselves - added that because 'she grew up around' Hollywood, she was 'never very impressed' with it.'I never bought into it as significant or important,' she told the publication. She admitted that if she were to start all over today, she likely wouldn't choose acting as her profession, because of the 'expectation' to share intimate details about her personal life that comes with being a famous person.
She added, 'When I was starting out, it wasn’t as much of an expectation to be as public, to share so much.'She also joked that she 'doesn't really have a social life' anymore and that all of her 'closest friends are refugees.' The movie star has worked with the the UN Refugee Agency for more than two decades, visiting camps in Cambodia, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, and Pakistan over the years. 'There’s a reason people who have been through hardship are also much more honest and much more connected, and I am more relaxed with them,' she said. 'Why do I like spending time with people who’ve survived and are refugees? They’ve confronted so much in life that it brings forward not just strength, but humanity.'Angelina has been embroiled in arguably one of the most public breakups of all time, with the entire world watching on as she and ex Brad, 59, have battled it out in court over the last seven years. She briefly spoke out about the dissolvement of her marriage of WSJ, while opening up about why she decided to step back from the spotlight in recent years.'We had to heal. There are things we needed to heal from,' she explained, when the outlet pointed out that she's only appeared in five movies over the course of her seven-year legal fight. The 48-year-old graced the front of the magazine's latest issue. The close-up profile shot showed the Maleficent alum from the neck up, as she starred away from the camera.Another snap from the photoshoot featured her posing in a black blazer and matching shorts from her new sustainable fashion brand, Altelier Jolie.
A third saw her standing in a floor-length Atelier Jolie black coat with a hand-painted panel on the back.If Angelina does take a break from acting, that doesn't mean she will stop working altogether, with the on-screen star sharing: 'I can't stop. I always think there's a fight coming.'However, her focus has largely turned to her other ventures - like her new clothing company, which she said is designed to empower 'individuality' and 'freedom.'She's currently working on opening a shop for the brand in New York City, which will also include a café run by refugee and immigrant chefs and a space upstairs for private fittings. She also plans to 'host educational events focused on techniques such as silk-screening, studding and embroidery' at the store. 'I’ll probably lose money, maybe even for a while,' she told WSJ of the new venture. 'If I can eventually put into practice some things that I think are improvements and I just break even, that’s a huge victory.'She added: 'Can we avoid doing real damage - not only to the earth, but the garment workers?'Is it possible that I could go somewhere and enjoy making clothes, enjoy wearing clothes and not hurt anybody? And actually maybe treat people well? I don't know the answers.' Angelina and Brad first started dating in 2005 and from the start, their romance was controversial.
They met on set of the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith - while he was still married to Jennifer Aniston - and almost immediately, rumors erupted that he had cheated on the Friends alum.It was a love triangle that seemed to capture the entire nation - and while Brad started dating Angelina almost immediately after he and Jennifer split, he has furiously denied that he was unfaithful to his ex. Despite the allegations of infidelity, it seemed as though Brangelina was a match made in heaven, and for over a decade, they were Hollywood's 'it' couple. They tied the knot in August 2014 during a secret ceremony in the South of France, and welcomed three children together during their romance - Shiloh, now 17, in 2006, and twins Vivienne and Knox, now 15, in 2008.They also adopted two more, Zahara, now 18, and Pax, now 20, and Brad legally adopted the son that Angelina had adopted before they got together, Maddox, now 22. Brad's rep called Angelina's account 'completely untrue' to CNN at first, but then released an amended statement to the publication that read, 'Angelina's story continues to evolve each time she tells it.
