Angelina Jolie wanted for Maleficent sequel ...as Disney develop follow-up to the $760 million blockbuster

Disney is working on a sequel to the 2014 live action fairytale Maleficent and the Mouse House wants Angelina Jolie to return in the title role.Deadline.com reported Monday that Disney is eager to capitalize on the worldwide appeal of the first film which cost $180 million to make but grossed a total of almost $760 million globally.The website says the studio plans to keep Jolie 'in the loop' and Linda Woolverton, who wrote the screenplay for the first film, has been tapped to write the next one with Jolie in mind to return as the winged character.It's not clear right now if the actress will, in fact, return for the sequel or if she's even interested in doing so.She's only made one live action sequel - and that was for Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, starring in The Cradle Of Life.So far she's resisted invitations to make follow-ups to her films Salt and Wanted.But it may ultimately depend on whether her youngest children want their mom to do it, having been thrilled when she won a Teen Choice Award this year for the role. Late last year, Jolie, who turned 40 on June 4, announced she intended to quit acting and focus instead on working behind the camera.She directed husband Brad Pitt in the romance By The Sea which is currently in post-production and is rumored to be prepping to work with him again on the film Africa.
She's also busy raising her brood of six with Pitt and is committed to her work as a United Nations Special Envoy with a focus on the plight of refugees. The 2014 blockbuster was an adaptation of the classic fairytale of Sleeping Beauty with Jolie's character based on the iconic villain from Disney's classic 1959 animated feature.There's no clues yet as to how the story might be developed from the ending of the first movie that saw Maleficent unite her Moors kingdom with that of humans under Aurora, the Sleeping Beauty whom she cursed and then awakened.Maleficent 2 will be the fourth live action fairytale script Woolverton will do for Disney.In addition to Maleficent, she scripted 2010's Alice In Wonderland and its sequel Alice Through The Looking Glass, which is set for release next year. She also penned Disney's Beauty And The Beast that's currently filming and stars Emma Watson, Luke Evans and Ian McKellen. It's not yet known of the first film's director Robert Stromberg will be back to helm to sequel or if any other cast are attached to the project at this early stage.

She's just turned 40, is the mother of six children with husband Brad Pitt and has a booming career both in front of and behind the camera.But 20 years ago things were very different for Angelina Jolie, who had yet to marry either Brad or her two previous husbands and was just starting out in Hollywood.In new, never-before-seen photos, a young Angie is seen posing for some fun and flirty shots in Los Angeles taken as she geared up for the release of her breakthrough film Hackers.The unearthed images were shot by Los Angeles photographer Marcel Indik, as a young Angelina, daughter of Jon Voight, was busy with promo work for Hackers, which was released in 1995.The 20-year-old star is seen getting wild in the fun images, playing around with a short dark wig.Dressed in a shiny white trouser suit and going barefoot, the beautiful Hollywood star is instantly recognisable as she flirts with the camera. While one shot sees the actress flashing a big toothy smile, others show off the star's infamous wilder side as she messes up her wig and snarls for the camera.With smudged eye makeup and a vampy red lip colour, the rebellious actress is also seen lying upside down on a table and sticking out her tongue. The release of Hackers marked a big turning point for Angelina both professionally and personally.While the thriller failed to make a profit at the box office, Angelina was singled out for rave reviews and the film soon developed a cult following after its home release.
During filming the young actress started a relationship with her British co-star Jonny Lee Miller, with the two going on to marry in March 1996.Showing off that rebellious streak again, Angelina famously wore black rubber trousers and a white T-shirt for the wedding, upon which she had written Jonny's name in her blood. The couple separated just over a year later but have remained good friends, with the actress explaining that they were simply too young for marriage.Fast forward 20 years and Angelina is now married to Brad, with the Hollywood power couple sharing six children, Maddox, 13, Pax, 11, Zahara, 10, Shiloh, nine and six-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. Angelina recently opened up about her personal and professional successes during her 'amazing' year, which saw her mark her milestone 40th birthday on June 4. She gushed: 'It's been an amazing year. I married my love, my son [Maddox] became a teenager, and I got to bring ['Unbroken'] to the world.'I would be happy when [acting] is over. If I am lucky enough to have a career as a director, it would be a very nice transition. And then, when I can, Brad and I can work together.'

Preparations for the African Union summit on Sunday have taken a star turn with the arrival of humanitarian/actress Angelina Jolie.Angelina Jolie will be speaking on a panel at the Sandton Convention Centre on violence against women in conflict.She has been invited by AU Commission head Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma.The actress, who is a special envoy of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, says there’s a global epidemic of violence against women which can no longer be tolerated, and must be addressed. It appears that Angelina Jolie has created a uniform look for her regular flights across the globe.And the actress was once again seen rocking her favourite all-black ensemble as she arrived at London’s Heathrow airport with her 11-year-old son, Pax.The Hollywood star cut a stylish figure in a pair of skinny Saint Laurent cigarette trousers, which she teamed with a simple black top and a matching blazer.The only pop of colour came from her iconic Chloe ‘Lauren’ flats with scalloped edging and her equally classic brown Louis Vuitton holdall.Shielding her eyes with simple black shades, the actress was all smiles as she was helped from her car by staff.Her long black locks were worn naturally straight while she appeared to be wearing minimal make-up for the trip.Pax was dressed casually in camouflage shorts, a black and white top and grey trainers while he carried a large black rucksack.Angelina – who is married to actor Brad Pitt – is reportedly set to buy an island with her spouse.The pair are reportedly ready to splash out $4.7 million on Gaia island in Greece for them and their six children, Maddox, 13, Pax, Zahara, 10, Shiloh, nine, and six-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.A source told US' OK! magazine: ‘Angie fell in love with it. Meanwhile, Brad certainly didn't scrimp for his wife's 40th birthday recently as he reportedly purchased a vintage seaplane for her.The couple made a visit to a dealer in Europe ahead of the purchase and are keeping it on their runway at their home in Château Miraval near Brignoles, France. Brad also threw in flying lessons for Angelina so she is able to land her plane on the water.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are two of the world's most famous people.But it's clear the Hollywood stars like to keep things as down-to-earth as possible for themselves and their brood of six children.The famous family shunned a private jet or even the luxury of First Class in order to take a normal approach to travelling as they piled into an Air France plane on Saturday, going from the US to France, landing in Paris before taking a domestic trip down to Nice.It was on the second leg of their journey that the Jolie-Pitts were seen blending in with their fellow passengers on the aircraft. The 40-year-old actress and 51-year-old actor were seen leaving Los Angeles International airport, leading the way as their kids - Maddox, 13, Pax, 11, Zahara, ten, Shiloh, nine and six-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne - held hands while heading through the terminal.They looked just like any other family as they made their way to check in for the flight, before climbing aboard the liner.But it was the middle part of their trip - as they landed in Paris before switching onto a connecting flight to head to Nice in the South of France - that really showed them to be like any ordinary family unit.Instead of travelling First Class in the lap of luxury like many of their peers, Brad, Angelina and the kids took their seats in the rows of the plane in the Economy section.Brad and Angelina were also seen putting their hand luggage into the overhead storage, while their children settled down for the short flight from the French capital to the Cote d'Azur location. And, before hopping onto the domestic flight, the family waited for two hours at Charles de Gaulle Airport along with other passengers.
They certainly blended in with their fellow travellers as they made their way south towards Nice, before getting off and leaving the airport together as a family unit after their long-haul two-part journey from Los Angeles.Maleficent star Angelina looked casual in her low-key, jet-set attire of a simple black t-shirt, tailored trousers and a sleek blazer.She wore her long brunette tresses down and covered her face with a pair of shades.Meanwhile, Brad attempted to go incognito with a tight-fitting purple t-shirt, sunglasses and a fedora, his ever-changing beard short and giving him a salt-and-pepper appearance.After disembarking from the second flight, the family were escorted though the airport - each of them toting their own hand luggage, a few of the youngsters laden with their backpacks - as they got into a large car to continue their journey on land. Brad, Angelina and the children were perhaps visiting the couple's wine château - Château Miraval - in the village of Correns that they have been leasing since 2008 and which they usually travel to on a private jet.It's the very same location they famously tied the knot last year, and a favoured destination of the Jolie-Pitts when taking time off from their busy schedules.
