Daniel Craig’s James Bond topped the list of sexiest male characters with 22 percent of votes followed by comic book characters Chris Hemsworth’s hammer throwing Thor in second (18 percent) and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in third (17 percent).George Clooney as Danny Ocean – from the 2001 heist blockbuster Ocean’s Eleven came in fourth place with 17 percent.The new research by character-centric movie platform www.chili.com reveals how much a hot lead impacts on our movie experience, with 86 percent of Brits chosing to watch a film because they have the hots for the main character.According to the data a third of those polled admitted they would struggle to keep their cool if they met their on-screen crush in real life.And it seems fiction is even sexier than reality with the majority of Brits (52 percent) claiming they fancy sexy characters in films more than the actors who actually play them (48 percent).CHILI founder and CEO, Giorgio Tacchia said: “Our research shows characters make us fall in love with films – some of the biggest hits and most popular franchises are built on the connection film fans feel for the leading man or lady.“People don’t just watch characters, they feel for them, fall for them and even lust after them. Only 10 percent of men chose Julia Roberts from Pretty Woman as a sexy choice, whereas 20 percent of women thought she was sexy.
