Angelina Jolie looks gorgeous in all black at a photo call for her highly anticipated upcoming film Maleficent held at Hotel Bristol on Tuesday (May 6) in Paris, France.The 38-year-old actress was joined at the event by her co-star Elle Fanning. The duo held hands as they took photos together – cute! A brand new featurette for Maleficent was just released, which features Angelina chatting about her work with the character. Check it out below! “I really loved the script. It was like I was uncovering this great mystery,” Angelina said. FYI: Elle is wearing Valentino with Charlotte Olympia “Sleeping Beauty” shoes. US actress Angelina Jolie has condemned as “unthinkable cruelty and evil” the kidnapping of over 200 schoolgirls in Nigeria by Boko Haram Islamists.The star was speaking in Paris on Tuesday about the themes of her latest film Maleficent for Disney, in which she plays a vindictive fairy driven to curse an infant princess.“Sadly of course there is real evil in the world, you watch the news and you see all of the people suffering and so much cruelty,” she told a news conference.“And it’s unthinkable cruelty like these girls that were kidnapped in Nigeria. Unthinkable cruelty and evil,” she said.A total of 276 students were kidnapped in Nigeria’s northeastern Borno state three weeks ago when Boko Haram stormed their school under the cover of darkness and loaded them onto trucks.Several managed to escape but over 220 girls were still being held, according to police.In a video message, Abubakar Shekau, the head of the Islamist group which has killed thousands in a five-year uprising, said it was holding the girls as “slaves” and threatened to “sell (them)”.

Kristin Chenoweth to Play Maleficent in Disney Channel’s ‘Descendants’

Angelina Jolie will have some competition in the Maleficent department soon. TV and stage vet Kristin Chenoweth has been tapped to play the mother of the villain from the Sleeping Beauty saga in the Disney Channel telepic “Descendants,” which revolves around the offspring of famous Mouse House villains.Chenoweth will co-star as the mother of a teenage daughter, Mal, played by budding Disney star Dove Cameron.Kenny Ortega is directing the telepic, which begins production later this month for a 2015 premiere. Josann McGibbon and Sara Parriott penned the script.Chenoweth is a Broadway regular who most recently logged a recurring guest shot role on Fox’s “Glee” and guest shots on CBS’ “The Good Wife.” She’ll topline Carnegie Hall on Saturday with a biographic concert performance dubbed “The Evolution of a Soprano.” Disney’s bigscreen rendition of “Maleficent,” toplined by Jolie, bows May 30.
