Angelina Jolie looks completely focused on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter‘s Rule Breakers 2014 issue, out on newsstands now! Here’s what the 39-year-old actress had to share with the mag:
On following her instincts: “There have been times in my career when I’ve gotten bored and sloppy. But I’ve done my best to listen to my gut. Because I feel you can do whatever you want in this life. So long as you don’t hurt anybody, you can do anything.”
On working with husband Brad Pitt in By the Sea: “Yes, we spent our honeymoon playing two people in a terrible marriage. I’m sure a therapist would have a field day analyzing the films I choose to do. But it’s been 10 years since Brad and I have worked together. It felt like it was time.”
On retiring from acting soon: “I don’t want to be in hair and makeup, I don’t want to be in wardrobe, I don’t want to have to stand on a mark or emote. It makes me feel like a caged tiger.”

Her kids have shown that they are more than up to the task of stepping in for her on the red carpet, but like most parents, Angelina Jolie says she's not sure if they're prepared for the digital world. So how does the mother of six make sure her kids are safe on the Internet? "We have someone who monitors that," Jolie, 39, told PEOPLE in this week's cover story. The Unbroken director calls herself "old-school" when it comes to technology, saying she doesn't use Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, and prefers writing things down in a notebook.Still, Jolie understands the dangers that the Internet presents to children. As a result, she and husband Brad Pitt hired a cyber security team to monitor the Internet and social media content that their children, who range from ages 6 to 13, encounter."It's a scary new world," the star says. While Jolie's team controls the Twitter handle @AngelinaJolie, the account remains locked, meaning it doesn't follow anyone or accept followers."It's so beyond what we understand," Jolie says of her and Pitt, who isn't active on social media either. "We wouldn't even know what to look for."Ultimately, Jolie feels relieved that the technologies her kids use didn't exist when she was younger."I got in enough trouble," Jolie says. "It just would have been very documented."

Angelina Jolie Stares Down Sony's Amy Pascal After Leaked "Spoiled Brat" Diss

Well, this was either super awkward or they're all good! Angelina Jolie was snapped chatting with a passionate-looking Amy Pascal at The Hollywood Reporter Women in Entertainment Power 100 Breakfast on Wednesday, Dec. 11 — just two days after leaked Sony emails revealed Jolie to be described as a "minimally talented spoiled brat." The Oscar winner, who made a surprise appearance at the event in honor of her upcoming film Unbroken, appeared to be composed while talking to Sony Pictures Entertainment's co-chairwoman. In case you missed it, Pascal was involved in a now-leaked heated email discussion with big-budget producer Scott Rudin about Jolie. The conversation got intense as Pascal and Rudin fought over director David Fincher and the actress. It all came down to the fact that Brad Pitt's wife apparently wanted Fincher to lead her Cleopatra flick around the same time that Rudin planned to use the director for his own Steve Jobs biopic.
"She is upset about us giving [Fincher] Jobs. She wants to talk," Pascal wrote to Rudin, who replied by brushing off the star with: "She'll survive it. I don't want to waste my time on this." Things got real intense when Rudin then wrote in a series of replies: "YOU BETTER SHUT ANGIE DOWN BEFORE SHE MAKES IT VERY HARD FOR DAVID TO DO JOBS," "I'm not destroying my career over a minimally talented spoiled brat who thought nothing of shoving this off her plate for eighteen months so she could go direct a movie," "She's a camp event and a celebrity and that's all and the last thing anybody needs is to make a giant bomb with her that any fool could see coming." Read more of the insults in the leaked emails here.Following the massively embarrassingly leak, which also included emails of Sony execs dissing Kevin Hart, Joel McHale, and President Obama, Pascal released an apology. "The content of my emails to Scott were insensitive and inappropriate but are not an accurate reflection of who I am," she wrote in a statement. "Although this was a private communication that was stolen, I accept full responsibility for what I wrote and apologize to everyone who was offended."
